Yeay@Countmeout you have joined the sparkly golden socks club!

Re: The is it blue, is it green new jumper? I can reveal…

…there is a blue one AND a green one!

They are not too far apart from each other on the colour wheel.

I didn’t try either on at SM today, as they were - for me - far too scratchy.

Dee1224 · 27/10/2023 20:03

Re: SM - there is the sample sale in two weeks time and then a Xmas fair at Kilver Court - I am gutted that I am missing both!

Not much in today - lots of mittens and scarves. I loved the scarves but I have loads already and some were dry clean only - which is ridiculous!

The mittens were all really weird fitting.

I was tempted to buy another brown Fairisle tam in case I lost the one I have, but decided that was silly and settled for a pair of socks.

I restrained myself from further purchases as I am still smarting from the foolish clog purchase in August, (they are too big and impossible to walk in 🙃).

Dee1224 · 27/10/2023 20:08

As promised, here are some pictures, in case anyone wants to purchase by phone.

I almost forgot:

If anyone wants to stitch two of the sale price £65 Fairisle scarves together, (I can’t remember who did this originally, but it was a lovely idea), they had several in SM today.

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2023 20:49

@Dee1224 is that a linen check bag??

Dee1224 · 27/10/2023 20:54

Hi @Snowyowl78 - it looked more cottony from what I remember - it was reduced to under £30, £29, I think.

I really liked it, but it was huge!

If I go back and it’s still there, I will check the material.

Dee1224 · 27/10/2023 20:56

@Snowyowl78 - if it helps, they had a spring/summer scarf in exactly the same material/pattern/colour.

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2023 21:05

@Dee1224 thanjs! I have emailed them

faustina · 27/10/2023 21:11

I love that leather bag! It's a wonderful colour

I'm just back from my birthday trip and I am very glad I didn't wear a jumper as it was boiling. I wore a Toast tshirt I bought in the sale for the first time - slubby, almost black, with gathered three quarter sleeves - it was perfect with tobacco cotton tapered trousers and a big but very thin black wool coat which is very very old but I've yet to find a better one. Also glad I wore my Springcourts with no socks.

I didn't manage to get to Toast but I got my tragus piercing sorted out at Astrid and Miyu (totally recommend that place - they're wonderful) - and then we spent way too much in Liberty (jones road, Aesop, Comme des garçons scent (early Christmas present for DS2) and oh my goodness the bath station on the third floor - every possible soap, hand wash, and everything in between . I came home in a cloud of wonderful smells

Alpacasoft · 27/10/2023 21:20

Jumping in as hopelessly behind.
Yikes at the walking commute in a Toast jumper !
My commute is an hour and I walk wearing LNDR leggings and a sweat wicking top, long waterproof over.
Dress for the second half of the walk/ run is my mantra.

I really enjoyed the Toast live, Evie is great but the hissy woman going "yaaaassss" "yeeeaaah" beside her really quietly got on my nerves 😂
Love the velvet but have JOMO and hate Christmas parties so I'm only considering the midnight velvet skirt .
Love the Harlequin print, I so wish they had considered a Bryn as I would wear it far more than a sleeveless dress.
I bought the Harlequin shirt instead.
The elbow length sleeves 😍
I'm really taken with the silk / linen tie front top.
It really is beautiful in a simple way and imo hangs better than the poplin version.
Thanks for the new thread

Dee1224 · 27/10/2023 22:37

@faustina, I was tempted by that KS bag, but it was still £195 and I absolutely do not need another bag! (I will try to resist going back for another look!)

They had lots of those Kettle bags too, (don’t really ‘get’ those myself), and a small patent half moon bag, that I quite liked the look of.

dudsville · 28/10/2023 07:45

@Dee1224 I'm so envious. Well done you not handing over all your money.

Re the orla kiely mentions upthread, I really like the cotton she uses for bedding and the retro prints. I have 3 sets for our bed and two for the guest room. I have one old handbag and still love it but since the pandemic my handbags don't get out much. Although this pic was primarily to show my my tea set you can see my favourite OK bedding print mix.

Dee1224 · 28/10/2023 08:32

Ooh , nice tea sheet and does the bedding match it @dudsville? I love green

Countmeout · 28/10/2023 08:40

Glad you mentioned the live @Alpacasoft I thought it was just me annoyed by that bit of it. I found it a bit uncomfortable to listen/watch. I actually think Evie is better on her own. Really enjoyed the layering video. This one and the one with Kat I found the interactions rather uncomfortable. I think because she doesn’t like a silence. I’m not fond of a silence myself in that type of thing tbf.

I love green too @dudsville .

dudsville · 28/10/2023 08:41

Thanks@Dee1224 , the bedding happens to match it but that wasn't intentional, more inevitable given the colours that I tend towards! I love green too! This set is described as "sea blue green".

ilovecherries · 28/10/2023 08:48

I felt a bit uncomfortable too - but to be fair I suspect the other woman was as well, as she didn’t actually seem to have a role. I prefer either Evie or Nikki just doing it themselves. I want to be that older model though. The hair (well that won’t ever happen for me!), the posture! Her figure! I had a bit of a woman- crush on her. She’s beautiful.

dudsville · 28/10/2023 08:54

I agree that older model was gorgeous, and everything really suited her! I thought the new co presenter was nervous. I like that the lives aren't polished presentations, but they do sometimes have uncomfortable elements as a result.

Noeggsontoast · 28/10/2023 08:55

@dudsville nice tea set and love how it ties into your OK bedding.

I'm a big fan of OK too - I went maximalist with OK in our lounge.

@Alpacasoft totally agree with you re the other lady, it was like radio interference and I couldn't focus fully on Evie.

@faustina glad you had your birthday trip - you got me at Aesop. I love their products- converted from my time living down under. I usually try to get a Liberty visit in before Xmas, but don't think I'll manage it this year as not really able to go out too much right now.

It literally made my skin crawl , sorry I feel really mean but eeek make it stop!

She did look very nervous, jiggling about and twisting her hands but this is a live for toast and while it should be relaxed it should also be professional.
Once she got a chance to speak about the dress it was better.

Countmeout · 28/10/2023 09:17

I think a live needs to be planned so every participant has a segment to speak in. Otherwise a strong personality can dominate and I think that was one of the problems. That said I am always so glad to see a live to get an idea of the clothes as I live so far from a Toast store.

@faustina - glad you enjoyed your trip. Love a Liberty browse.

Thanks for the wisdom tooth sympathy everyone - coming out the other side. As well as the Chup socks, I bought a 'sorry for myself' Trudon candle (gulp) ...so just as well I'm feeling better.

Sitting here wrapped in a Herd Blanket Scraf (Young British Designers sale - thank you to whoever flagged the sale a couple months ago). Quality is amazing.

Glad the awkward video sidekick situation has been mentioned - I agree if going to use, should agree upfront how to split airtime. Wish they'd taken off the duffle coat to show the top of the green dress.

ilovecherries · 28/10/2023 10:42

I thought the duffle and the green dress was a bit of a random pairing, and then got cross it wasn’t taken off to show the dress she was raving about. I do look forward to the lives though.

Alpacasoft · 28/10/2023 10:46

@faustina
Glad you got your birthday outing in the end.

Can I ask about Jones Road?
Was it the balm stuff?
Have seen differing reviews, seems a bit marmite.

Have been considering my recent purchases.
Making a list has worked really well for me.
The Harlequin shirt being my only impulse buy.
I planned and bought Annie's, the side button jumper, pjs and suede Blundstones.
No dress purchased though.
I keep coming back to the green Dotty print and it's sold out in a couple of sizes...
