Thanks for the thread @Countmeout
Hope you feel better soon @Stoic123
I am off to SM later today - will report back!

Dee1224 · 27/10/2023 02:51

Lovely jumper @mizu

AmethystMoonShine · 27/10/2023 03:33

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout

Joining with the sock love @Saurus72 they’re beautiful. Also support @Firesideknitting with the Seasalt sock verdict. I got rid of the pairs I had as they drove me mad with the poor fit. Shame as otherwise I quite liked them.

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2023 09:25

Oh dear. I got the Donegal Grid Jacket today and I LOVE it. It’s such a good fit and I love the pattern. I only got it to try on and buy the one that was for sale on Facebook but missed out! It’s terribly expensive.

My socks arrived. Love these. Thanks to whoever pointed them out. The colour is spot on for my new to me Mira.

So sorry to hear that @Theteapotsbrokenspout :( I'm sure you've tried skincare and diet solutions as well but these things are so hard to pin down.

Yay for socks @Countmeout

Love the bomber @Snowyowl78 it's such a special fabric, the type Toast do so well!

I also had a delivery today, painted skirt which is a definite keeper. Really clever to have fixed pleats in front as well as a really wide elastic band to control the (loads of 😍) volume and it's fully lined too so weighty enough to work with tights/boots in a/w. Not that I'm trying to justify the price in case it goes on sale soon

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2023 11:29

@clowniform its a really good shape too and an excellent fit for me. I BET it will go down to less than £200 but I don’t there will be a sale with it in til Xmas? There was a sale in Nov both years previous but that was a Winter Archive. So I don’t think your skirt will go into sale til Xmas either.

OftenOrange · 27/10/2023 12:29

@Stoic123 Enjoy the lovely socks and heal fast .
@mizu @clowniform @Snowyowl78 Love all these buys , and I think the pleasure gained by enjoying them at this time of year far outweighs any Sale saving
I wasn’t very interested in the Live , I loathe the Christmas clothes that flood the shops earlier each year. I used to love cotton velvet for everyday and had a navy dress I used to wear over shirts, that wore like iron . Now velvet seems to have been designated dressy which is a shame.

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2023 12:44

@OftenOrange i have the chocolate brown jacket from last year that I think works for every day. Although every day that’s not a rainy day!!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/10/2023 13:13

That’s a lovely skirt @clowniform no point waiting for the sale when you want to wear it now. I find I’m wearing my full price items straight away, but when I buy in the sale they often sit unworn in my wardrobe for ages.

Saurus72 · 27/10/2023 13:25

@Theteapotsbrokenspout Same here - but I think mainly because I buy a lot of knitwear/boots/jackets etc in the summer sales which are brilliant price reductions but then I have to wait ages to wear them. On the upside, over the past few weeks I’ve had lots of lovely new things to wear that I bought months ago. If only I could stop craving new dresses - this one is my latest craving. I wouldn’t wear it as it is but I can see that it would be gorgeous with a cashmere cardi over the top. I definitely can’t buy it this month, maybe next…🙄

@Snowyowl78 lovely jacket - a great investment piece.

@clowniform enjoy the skirt, that print is gorgeous and so versatile.

@Saurus72 I love the print of that dress but like you couldn't wear it as is, well not at this time of year. I did feel like a lot of things were just too summery in cut in this last drop and fabrics too.

Today I have received and love some flower mountain trainers. I sized down to 4.5, from a 5. These are not wide fitting at all and are very comfortable. I fell in love with them when I saw them in Working Class Heroes in Ulverston a few months ago. It's a really great shop - a little like Uniform Research.

Saw that cardigan on an instagram post @Snowyowl78 it looked lovely.

@Saurus72 I love that print but not the style. I don’t really wear crepe blouses either. Maybe they’ll repeat it in a different style dress. or a skirt.

Love your trainers @Noeggsontoast .

Wearing the bud check dress and Seasalt cardigan today. 100denier tights with the Mary Janes which definitely need an extra hole on my right foot. Debating whether to tackle this myself or find if the cobblers is still open in the nearest town.

@Countmeout ooh which Instagram? I want to admire it on other people so I can justify keeping it!

Countmeout · 27/10/2023 15:29

I think it might have been a story @Snowyowl78 and now I can’t find it. It was a round up of people wearing Toast. She had it under something. Can’t remember what it was under.

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2023 15:30

@Countmeout oh I know that’s the main toast page I think. Cheers!

applecatchers36 · 27/10/2023 16:48

Vicariously enjoying all your lovely purchases Toasties. Am in my dark denim dungarees with a YMC cream bracelet sleeved t underneath and some bamboo socks which are super soft. First outing of the dungarees since storage over summer. It's wet but mild here.

mizu · 27/10/2023 17:36

@Noeggsontoast beautiful trainers, think I saw some on the mercentile website.

mizu · 27/10/2023 17:39

I decided to walk to work today - one and a half hours each way - foolishly wore an old TOAST fairisle jumper and an also old long quilted coat together with daughter's tracksuit bottoms and other daughter's comfortable new balance.....was sweltering.

Ha! Was just about to comment, I wore my green donegal knit from last year today with a thin tee underneath - almost passed out I was so hot! And it wasn't too warm here either. That's some tough wool Grin

ToastCosILoveIt · 27/10/2023 19:29

@faustina, i can relate to the Orla obsession. I have (too) many of her bags and lots of her dresses and coats too. Some of them are my favourite pieces.

ToastCosILoveIt · 27/10/2023 19:32

@mizu, I am laughing at the overheating in Toast wool. Last Saturday I went out in one of the fairisle jumpers from a couple of years also and some alixes and a parker because it was raining. OMG I nearly passed out with the heat and I couldn't take the jumper off because I didn't have a tee shirt on underneath. I was out all day in it too: very uncomfortable.

mizu · 27/10/2023 19:48

I am going to attempt to walk to work again a couple of times next week - need to do more exercise - I could probably be heard mumbling to myself as I neared home that I must, must wear less next time. I was wearing a T-shirt underneath but an extremely old threadbare Duran Duran one 😆and I couldn't possibly have carried my fat quilt coat and my thick jumper. It was all too much!

mizu · 27/10/2023 19:49

PS just received the TOAST magazine of sorts in the post, lovely decorations, the paper chains look gorgeous, just not sure I can justify £18 on them!

Countmeout · 27/10/2023 19:54

I went for a walk on Sunday and foolishly kept on my Mira sweater over a long sleeve T-shirt and had put on one of those light quilted jackets. Almost melted. It’s amazing the difference a real wool sweater makes. I love the Donegal ones but not sure where I’d ever wear it, our house is very well insulated and I think I would be too warm in it outdoors as well.
