The velvet dress was very revealing I thought @snowyowl maybe the gold one was too.

Thanks@Countmeout !

Noeggsontoast · 26/10/2023 18:55

@Countmeout thanks for the new thread. I have a very hard time trying to keep up.

@clowniform I so love the cut of those cords.

@Saurus72 those socks are definitely on my list, they look so cosy and such nice colours. A friend bought me a similar pair from seasalt one year but they're almost impossible to get on your feet! There's no movement in the heel.

I can't remember who said about getting distracted in the Toast lives but I got totally distracted by the velvet jumpsuit with the green blouse. I so want a reason to have that jumpsuit in my wardrobe but can find none.

My toasty outfit today is the fern print dress from last year or the year before (can't remember) with a knitted cotton v neck tank (non-Toast). The tank is such a workhorse at this time of year.

Now I need to catch up on today's live video.

Stoic123 · 26/10/2023 19:09

Thanks @Countmeout

@Saurus72 - love those socks. Thanks for the photo. Feeling sorry for myself after a wisdom tooth extraction so I have just treated myself.

dudsville · 26/10/2023 19:46

Sounds painful@Stoic123 , hope that heals up soon, socks will definitely help!

I just watched the live. It always motivates me to consider things I wouldn't have noticed, but I have to be careful to stick with things that actual it fit my lifestyle. I really want to get married again and wear one of those spaghetti strap velvet dresses! I found myself wondering whether I could just wear it casually in my retirement years, like "this old thing? Oh it's just my Wednesday dress" 😁

Saurus72 · 26/10/2023 19:50

Thanks for all of the sock love and reasons to justify the purchase 🤗. @Stoic123 get well soon. @dudsville a huge ‘yes’ to the velvet Wednesday dress - why on earth not..?

ilovecherries · 26/10/2023 19:55

Thank you @Countmeout

faustina · 26/10/2023 20:04

@Countmeout - thanks for the new thread!

@Saurus72 - those socks are spectacular - and @Stoic123 good call on ordering them. I'm sure they will be medicinal - hope you heal soon

Firesideknitting · 26/10/2023 20:10

@Noeggsontoast i can confirm the sea salt socks are terrible, I’ve slim feet so could get my feet in, but they hung off my toes, like really terrible, such a shame as they were nice looking socks, it’s made me very selective with socks…

Noeggsontoast · 26/10/2023 20:17

@Firesideknitting yes! I'd forgotten they hung off my toes as I won't wear them. As you say looked good but they are hopeless.

@Stoic123 hope you feel better soon. Wisdom teeth extraction is not fun at all.

I watched the live and now the jumpsuit is definitely off my fantasy list. Too long and the fabric looked so thin.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/10/2023 20:22

Just popping on to keep track of the thread!
Watched the live session. Not much for me. Loved the velvet things but not for my lifestyle, sadly.
I've not much on my Toast wish list atm. I did order mint velvet biker boots for my upcoming birthday from my dh!

No1Mousie · 26/10/2023 20:22

Thanks for the new thread - have just spent a lovely wee while catching up on the last one.

Now off to watch the live and add more items to my wish list!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 26/10/2023 20:25

Thank you for the new thread @Countmeout it all seems to move so fast atm.

My oiled leather Boston clogs arrived and I am surprised how comfy they are considering I have never worn Birkenstocks before. I have driven myself mad though watching videos of how to look after oiled leather. All I wanted to know really was whether to spray them with water proofing before I wore them.

I’ve watched the live, not much for me. I loved Evie's tank but as I can’t wear any wool I won’t be buying it. I don’t really have any need for the velvet pieces either. Also liked the Wrap jacket but again the wool content means it’s not for me. I really need to find some warm layering pieces without wool so I can keep wearing my dresses.

Our Sea Foam Ombre Knitted Tank is knitted from a lofty wool blend containing mohair and alpaca. It has a crew neck and ribbed edges.

clowniform · 26/10/2023 20:27

Thanks for the new thread @Countmeout !

Catching up on the live, agree it's great to see a range of models. Even having tried on a lot of the pieces myself it's so interesting to see how different they look on different figures/colourings.

@Noeggsontoast the orange velvet jumpsuit did look really thin. I had tried on the navy and it was beautifully thick drapy fabric, just like the cami dresses. Would not be the first time Toast had v. different fabrics in nominally the same style!

@dudsville the rope straps make the velvet dresses read a bit more casual IMO. Could definitely be layered over a tee for dogbaths

clowniform · 26/10/2023 20:30

🍦for @Stoic123

@Theteapotsbrokenspout can you wear camelid fibres? I've noticed lots of cotton/bamboo blends with those in the handknitting yarn market so expect they will be out there commercially too.

Snowyowl78 · 26/10/2023 20:33

I like the velvet dress with the straps but I definitely couldn’t have that much flesh on show, can anyone thing what could be put under it but maintain the glam levels rather than dressing it down? I have an event in a couple of months I’m thinking about

Laska2Meryls · 26/10/2023 20:35

Thanks for new thread @Countmeout Just checking in . .
.

mizu · 26/10/2023 20:44

Thanks for new 🧵 @Countmeout and glad you like the Bostons @Theteapotsbrokenspout

I bought this beauty from eBay and it arrived today..... never seen it before, perhaps a sample? Unbelievably soft.

Toasties hoping for a sale while sailing into Christmas
Countmeout · 26/10/2023 20:52

@Stoic123 you definitely deserve new socks.

Fortunately I don’t have to resist the silk velvet as I don’t have a silk velvet lifestyle. And I definitely couldn’t have all that flesh on show in winter. I do like the cotton velvet jacket however. Might put it on a sale list. I thought the colours in the dress she had paired it with were lovely.

I still want Toast green cords. Do we think there’s more to come as the ombre tank has just appeared. It’s such a pretty colour.

ScottishMouse · 26/10/2023 20:52

Thanks @Countmeout. Off to watch today’s live. Thankfully I am not a velvet fan at all, so hoping there is nothing in it for me.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 26/10/2023 21:02

@clowniform unfortunately not, I struggle a lot with my skin, some days it’s so sensitive I think I’m going to end up not being able to wear anything.

QueenJaineApproximately · 26/10/2023 21:20

Thanks @Countmeout

Noodle421 · 26/10/2023 21:46

Thanks @Countmeout
@ScottishMouse i have the Yak scarf from last year and I love it . I fold it in half so it’s a triangle, drape it around my neck with triangle at back and then throw the end over the opposite shoulder if that makes sense. It stays and ‘sticks’ well in position without constantly having to readjust which can get on my nerves with some large scarves. I find it easy to wear. No matter how I fling it on it tends to sit nicely without too much fuss which is a big plus for me.

ScottishMouse · 26/10/2023 22:00

Thanks @Noodle421 , that’s helpful. I think it is beautiful and my sister will love the fabric, I just don’t know if it is a bit too much scarf. I’ll have another play around with it tomorrow to see.
