Can you tell I’ve had lip filler?

Basically what the subject asks!
I’ve had lip filler a few times over the last three years and I love the look. I’d like more done to go bigger but then sometimes I catch a glance of myself and think it looks really obvious.

I really want to go a bit bigger but I’m nervous. Can you tell I’ve had filler? Would I start to look weird with more?

I think if you're having to ask you know the answer OP. Yes, I think it is obvious. Trouble is there's so much of it about these days that you probably think its normal. Your top lip looks kind of hard at the top edge.

whalewise · 13/10/2023 07:00

Yes and the bottom one looks lumpy and misshapen. I'd be looking to remove.

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 13/10/2023 07:19

Yes, you can tell. They look like Kylie Jenner's lip which may be a compliment or not!

dangerrabbit · 13/10/2023 07:51

I think they look nice, I wouldn't be able to tell, but I think filler is like a favorite perfume, if you wear it every day you don't notice it, and you have to put on more and more to smell it until you're bathing in the stuff.

A dentist has given very good advice earlier in the thread...I would also be reluctant to wear filler because I think it is plastic being put into your skin? I don't like the idea of adding things into your body that don't have a medical reason.

redribbonrose · 13/10/2023 07:52

Yes, the skin above the top lip that jutts out into an unnatural pout

Dont have any more

wildwestpioneer · 13/10/2023 07:57

Yes you can tell, but I think they look pretty natural at this point, if you had any more done I think it would look really obvious and unnatural.

The problem with fillers, is that you get used to the end result and to get the buzz of seeing a difference in your lips, you have to keep going back and getting more, but you keep getting used to it so it looks normal to you. Which results in it being really obvious to other people, but normal to you, because you're used to it when it's not

MikeRafone · 13/10/2023 07:59

Ii would meet you and in all honesty wouldn’t notice.

Flintwhistle · 13/10/2023 08:08

I would assume you had, if I saw you I think.

topnoddy · 13/10/2023 08:19

Yep , any more and you might end up like Pete Burns

Lovethatforyouhun · 13/10/2023 08:35

Yes, i can always tell! Even if subtle. I’m obsessed with tweakments though!

ideal · 13/10/2023 08:37

I think they look lovely as they are! But be mindful of the possibility of filler migration. The line you mention on the top of your lip could well be the start of that.. filler has a tendency to move around and can cause ridges along the top lip. I have had it myself!

CurlewKate · 13/10/2023 08:40

Yes.

Marblessolveeverything · 13/10/2023 08:41

Yes, it looks like you have had some treatment. I think it always knocks the natural lip ratio out slightly which draws the eye.

AtrociousCircumstance · 13/10/2023 08:43

Yes you can tell but it looks fine.

However I think we need a pic from the side on, because one of the clinchers with too much lip filler is that weird, up-curved, artificial look from the side.

OhDoSitDownAndShutUp · 13/10/2023 08:43

Yes

TheFormidableMrsC · 13/10/2023 08:49

I couldn't tell, I think it's quite subtle. Looks lovely. I'd like some! A few mums at the school have it but far too overdone imo. Nobody needs a great big top lip.

CharlotteBog · 13/10/2023 08:52

It's hard to tell w/o seeing your whole face (understand you don't want to show it obv). I think they look fine.
Why do you want to go bigger?

mildlydispeptic · 13/10/2023 08:53

The front view looks good, but the side view may be more obvious --that's often the giveaway. You're OK but should definitely stop there if you don't want to look obviously "done".

SugarHiccups · 13/10/2023 08:53

I can tell and I think anyone who knows about lip filler would be able to tell.

It looks fine but I don't think it will look good if you go bigger, sorry.

ActDottie · 13/10/2023 08:55

I think I wouldn’t think you’d had lip filler at just a quick glance but I’d probably notice if you spoke to me. Please don’t go any bigger!!!!!!! They do look as natural as filler can get right now, any bigger would be so obvious.

Mummyofbananas · 13/10/2023 08:57

They're lovely now but don't go bigger. I think you can always tell close up because of the line across the top (I had mine done as well) but it's not a bad thing as long as they look balanced.

Mydogisamentalist · 13/10/2023 09:01

Thank you everyone. I don’t really have anyone in real life who would tell me if I went overboard and I know my judgement is probably off.

I will leave it for now and see how I feel when it’s dissolved a bit. I don’t think I have much of a metabolism because filler tends to last forever and a day on me.

If it wasn’t for that line I probably would have just gone for it but that line is concerning me. I’ve had 3.1mls put in over three years. I didn’t get the line until my last appointment where I decided to get Russian technique. Before that I got ‘standard’ filler and the line wasn’t there! I did go to a new practitioner who is great and told me I had a bit of filler migration from past treatments so I’m a bit wary.

I can tell. You look lovely as you are. Don't have more done.

itsmyp4rty · 13/10/2023 09:02

If you hadn't said anything from that small picture I might not have really noticed. But if you look at it more closely your lips look a bit lumpy and your bottom lip looks unusually full. I think going bigger again would be a huge mistake.
