Can you tell I’ve had lip filler?

Mydogisamentalist · 12/10/2023 23:05

Basically what the subject asks!
I’ve had lip filler a few times over the last three years and I love the look. I’d like more done to go bigger but then sometimes I catch a glance of myself and think it looks really obvious.

I really want to go a bit bigger but I’m nervous. Can you tell I’ve had filler? Would I start to look weird with more?

They also look unnatural. but that is the look you’re going for,
In normal lips without any fillers the top lip is thinner than the bottom lip.
Yours look about the same size so it’s a definite giveaway.

I think you can tell if you're looking out for it, but it looks fine. If you want to see it not looking fine, just watch married at first sight.

QS90 · 13/10/2023 00:02

I'm envious, the bottom half of your face looks very pretty and youthful.

I wouldn't have noticed filler, but having not had it myself, wouldn't know what to look for. If you feel self conscious, just don't get any more.

Marcipex · 13/10/2023 00:02

Yes, it’s not awful but it is obvious.

GreyDress · 13/10/2023 00:06

When I had them it looked fine in photos, but as soon as I saw a video of me speaking it was a lot more obvious. So I don’t think we can truly judge.

Blahbie · 13/10/2023 00:07

@seeusername

Bullying is not cool, I think you should be proud of them, as you can see a lot of women and some men are paying for lips like ours!

Piggybank36 · 13/10/2023 00:10

I can notice you have had some filler your lips are lovely and full, can’t see your whole face but you look pretty maybe you could use some glosses or plumpers you don’t won’t to spoil your attractive face for big lips xxx

Yes and yes the line will get bigger and deeper. Your lips are starting to look a bit lumpy too. Sorry I’m a dentist so have a professional. interest.
When you have fillers you see them in the mirror when they are still so your image of them is different to what everyone else sees. Filled lips are so much more noticeable when people talk. They also cause slight speech impediments because the filler alters the lip position when you make certain sounds. Our receptionist at work had over filled lips but has now had them dissolved. Her speech is much clearer now.
Finally because the inner lip is exposed to the air it dries out making you constantly lick your lips.
Sorry but I’ve seen some truly awful examples.
Despite the claim that they dissolve, longterm they will become lumpy and misshapen. They will also lighten in colour, I see one or two older ladies who now have the staining done because without it their lips are a slightly mottled version of their skin colour.

I have done a bit of a survey with my Dh and his friends and DS19 and his friends. Men really don’t like overfilled lips, like most things cosmetic they smile and nod to keep the peace.

This was such a great post until you tainted it with misogyny.

Why?? Why must what men think determine what woman do or not do to their bodies? In addition, you're educated so you must know the sample size for arriving at your decision is so grossly inadequate.Ugh!

Where's the misogyny?

Rosebud21 · 13/10/2023 00:17

You have luscious lips, absolutely no need to go bigger

Erm....Women aren't here to look nice for your husband, son and their friends. Wtaf?

babyswinging · 13/10/2023 00:19

I wouldn’t be able to tell if it wasn’t for the migration on the upper lip. Your actual lips look good and natural in my opinion, it’s just the migration in the upper lip that’s the giveaway. I wouldn’t have anymore if you’re worried about that.

Growlybear83 · 13/10/2023 00:19

Yes I can tell. Why do you do it?

Blackandwhitemakesgrey · 13/10/2023 00:24

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 12/10/2023 23:10

I can tell because you always end up with that giveaway allergic reaction look. You look swollen outside of your natural lip line.

Unless you want the super obvious look, I wouldn't go any bigger.

This really.

I wouldn't go bigger because it will be more obvious that you have fillers. Then you will say to yourself that as its already obvious, the next time you may as well go even bigger to get the lips you really wanted. And then you have a trout pout!

theduchessofspork · 13/10/2023 00:24

Ihatemondays1962 · 12/10/2023 23:08

Yes you can tell but it looks fine. Don't go any bigger though.

This.

No bigger or you’ll look like a blow fish.

Beenaboutabit · 13/10/2023 00:28

bottom lip looks natural
top looks like filler

Brrrrrrrrrrrr · 13/10/2023 00:28

Yes you can tell OP, they don’t look ridiculous but they don’t look natural either. Going bigger could make them look cheap / tacky so don’t do it.

SpicyMoth · 13/10/2023 00:28

I wouldn't have been able to tell honestly, and you've made me want to try it! D:

Intelligenthair · 13/10/2023 00:29

Yes, I can tell by the line and by how the area immediately above your lip is turning slightly. I think you just about get away with it at this fulness and i think they look good though- any more and i think you’ll start to look really obvious.

MartyFunkhouser · 13/10/2023 00:29

In RL, I probably wouldn’t notice because you don’t study someone’s lips.

But looking at the photo, they do look a bit lumpy and you have that odd ridge at the top that fillers give. Don’t go bigger! Look at the women on MAFS with fillers. They have grotesque lips that have impaired their speech and they never stop licking them. It can be ruinous.

BabyFireflyx · 13/10/2023 00:31

Yes because they're lumpy around the edges and it already looks like migration above the upper lip. Go for any more and it'll just look worse.

Johnisafckface · 13/10/2023 00:32

I think they look great as they are. I’ve been thinking of getting mine done, as I’ve aged they are getting even thinner so want to plump them up.

Scorchio84 · 13/10/2023 00:33

I've had lip filler too before (I loved it!) & I think yours is very natural looking, you obviously have a great clinician which is very important! If I were you I'd stick with that size, it's a really good job

user1492757084 · 13/10/2023 00:36

It is obvious to me.
My daughter's friend has them slightly plumper and she licks her lips constantly and seems to have a red ring around her lips which do look like they are sore when she doesn't use make up. She looks opposite to smart and savvy.

I would not use more.

beachcitygirl · 13/10/2023 00:36

Yep it's v obvious as you have "the ledge" but nevertheless you look lovely. I wouldn't go bigger tho x
