…..a “Rains” rain jacket.

It was the first rainy autumnal feeling day this season and almost every adult was wearing a Rains rain coat, including me.

I mean I didn’t buy it to be ‘radical’ or ‘different’ - but I didn’t realise they were such a thing?! Like a uniform. Made me laugh a bit.

Is it the same in other places?

I’m in an affluent town commuter distance from London.

My God, those models are gormless.

Or alternatively, seriously unimpressed to be modelling raincoats.

I know! They look so miserable 😂😂

I’ve never heard of them so googled… what boring coats! but mine is leopard print and from Lidl, so what do I know..

Ha I have an 'old lady' mac that is fuchsia from a charity shop when it was teeming once. Keeps my dry

This thread is the funniest.

I have a Rains, love it. Bought mine in Denmark nearly ten years ago and it's good as new despite heavy wear. It's not my most stylish raincoat, but great for travel and those days when it rains on and off - very lightweight so easy to stuff into your bag when the sun comes out. I agree the styling on the website is somewhat off putting!

Only problem is DH bought a matching one so now we look a bit ridiculous if we happen to both be wearing them! But admittedly we have that issue with outerwear in general. 😂

I've just looked as I'd never heard of them
They are apparently " cutting edge deign" so I'm guessing that's what you pay for
Personally if I can't avoid the rain, I have an £18 Regatta, but everyone is different

Boomboom22 · 13/10/2023 17:13

My 12 year old likes regatta, better than Nike if he can't have adidas which is apparently the best brand ever. North face is ok but he prefers regatta 🤣

The average age on Mumsnet is so much higher than you'd imagine...

I had to Google it too!
Don’t think I’m their target market.
Can’t say I’ve noticed a lot of people in them but I’ve driven to and from work and only encountered students in my lunch break.
