Are we going to buy or have we peaked?

@Housewife2010 yes, that gravy mayonnaise remains unopened in our house too 😀

We’ve done Degusta as a family thing the last too year’s and when I asked this year they were all very keen to get it again, so ours is ordered.

AprilLady · 02/10/2023 15:25

*two years

RazorstormUnicorn · 02/10/2023 15:33

Ok, I have read the full thread, and after 4 years of beauty advent calendars, I think I am going to go without... really appreciate all the info and discussion to help with my decision. Thanks all!

Partly I have stash I should use up, and partly I have started to learn what I like and suits my skin and now would like to actually repurchase them instead of using the random bits kicking around my bathroom.

I reserve the right to change my mind should I notice any be heavily discounted! 😂

I might buy myself a lovely candle instead. I had a fab Jo Malone one in Space NK one year (2020?) but not been able to justify the £50 to repurchase.

BaconAndAvocado · 02/10/2023 16:02

Is the Degusta AC any good?
I had a quick gander and looks like there was Haribo in it?!?!

Doubleraspberry · 02/10/2023 16:09

Gravy mayonnaise is wonderful! Although I've always made my own so can't speak for whatever is in your bottles.

I feel the same, @RazorstormUnicorn . Other than my slightly faltering intention to buy Diptyque because I love it.

Icamehomelikeastone · 02/10/2023 16:17

I caved and got the ok beauty box ac, using a code it was £85. Still not cheap but definitely one of the most reasonable prices out there. I'm slightly panicking as I've not seen it mentioned anywhere online or in real life so maybe I've not made a wise decision

Nearlyadoctor · 02/10/2023 16:29

Another one here wondering about Degusta, having never had it before. Dd16 had ASOS last year and Bodyshop the year before but isn’t swayed by any this year. I’ve got JM and DH Brewdog so feel she should have something ( although she’d be happy with a dairy milk one for a £1).
Would Degusta be good for a 16 year old girl? She’d definitely like the sweets, choc etc

So last year Degusta seemed to include a lot of snacks such as vegan choc which wasn’t that exciting tbh. And gravy mayonnaise (DS2, back from uni and spying it in the fridge <dubiously>: “Hmmm well I like both these things on their own…”

The previous year it was better as it included nice samples eg Maille mustard, little glass of wine, fancy teas, sample of posh cereal, that kind of thing. It’s meant to be a foodie thing but obvs it has all got to be non-perishable.

It's a real AC but their first one ever, maybe that's why it hasn't been mentioned anywhere yet on the AC websites.

It is on my 'maybe' list because it is reasonably priced and am doing my very best to only look at prices under £100.

Yes I'd told myself max £100 but I really didn't need one this year.then I got the ok beauty email and was drawn in by it having no sample sized products

Branster · 02/10/2023 17:16

I followed your exact same thought process 😁

Nearlyadoctor · 02/10/2023 17:24

@clary - might be a bit of fun for her then, anything she doesn’t like can then be eaten etc by the rest of us 🤣. The box size looks so impressive as well and it’s not costing a fortune.

clary · 02/10/2023 17:36

@Nearlyadoctor yes agreed, would be a fun one, and you could always claim any random alcohol!

Puravida23 · 02/10/2023 17:37

@Icamehomelikeastone I bought it too so you are not alone. I hate the way they tried to upsell their Lisa snowden box as you paid but only gave you 2 minutes to think about it .
I have spent most of today wondering if I should have bought it as well .
Although I don’t need this advent calendar so I definitely don’t need an advent and beauty box but it looked quite good value for £50
So for anyone thinking of buying the OK advent they offer or they did with me anyway the Lisa Snowden box for £50 after you pay so good idea to decide if you are interested before buying the advent (usually £60)

Icamehomelikeastone · 02/10/2023 18:22

I got the Lisa snowden offer aswell but i didn't give it a second thought, it was a no for me

Roundaboot · 02/10/2023 19:37

I've got the list of last year's Degustabox contents on private message if anyone wants it?
The gravy mayonnaise is still in our fridge as emergency mayo. It's not bad tbh and would probably work well in a chicken sandwich but as a pescetarian household, it's not getting much use here! Everything else has long since been eaten/drunk though

Nearlyadoctor · 02/10/2023 19:41

@Roundaboot - that would be really good if you didn’t mind sending it, thank you 😊

Bananaman123 · 02/10/2023 19:45

Anyone wanting ok AC try code 20SPARKLE OR SPARKLE20 to get it for 75

MavisMcMinty · 02/10/2023 21:30

Well! Thanks for that link, I’ve just bought two! Initially thinking one for my OH, one for me, but I may end up giving mine to someone else. Got a 10% discount for my first-time order - actually they seem to have given me 20% off, but I shan’t question it.

Looking forward even more to December 1st now!

Franklyfrank · 02/10/2023 21:41

WH Smith are selling the Bonne maman AC for £24. Free postage if you spend £30. It's £33 on the Bonne maman site, but you get a few extra little jars.

kerstina · 02/10/2023 21:47

You can watch last years unboxing of degusta on you tube . Might get one for DS at Uni .

canwetalkaboutcake · 03/10/2023 07:16

The No7 exclusive access emails are out if you signed up. I haven't bought this one in a few years so I have this time as I will use everything.

pinkchampagne1 · 03/10/2023 07:33

I actually like the look of the ultimate No7 calendar, despite it being single branded. I like the new future renew products and all items are full size.
Also slightly tempted by the OK one as it seems a bargain with the code, but J am also hoping some of the others come down in price so I should maybe wait. 🤔
