Are we going to buy or have we peaked?

I usually find that the best solution to an advent calendar buying dilemma is to buy both, in order to avoid the discomfort of having to make a decision Grin

Love that quote midnight…I also take the same approach 😁

I've been pondering advent calendar purchase this year. None really standing out. And I'm packing to move house, have realised how many products I have, both new and half used. Has given pause for thought, do I really need more. Might set a challenge to use what I have for advent instead.

That would take Herculean strength. I’ve already failed on my resolve to not buy one, or ahem, two 😁

Possimpible · 16/09/2023 23:35

@CinnamonCoffee what's the surprise product? I did look but it wasn't obvious from the site. Agree about day 25... dull

clary · 16/09/2023 23:37

update: Liberty AC empty boxes sold for £13 and £19 wow! Suddenly purchase of a full Liberty AC this year looks more feasible Smile

I threw both of mine away 🙈

Noooo

Tbh I expected to get £5-7.50 which is what I have had before for AC boxes. I mean they are worth something surely as they are pretty sturdy and easy to fill with bits and bobs - not even beauty necessarily but maybe earrings, sweets, hair accessories.

Anyway couldn't believe the number of watchers for the Liberty ones. CB and JLP harder to shift tho. You also need to keep the boxes to post them in!

CinnamonCoffee · 17/09/2023 00:58

@Possimpible look away for anyone who wants a surprise........

It's the new liberty perfume release. An 8ml bottle of one of the new scents

Spacehopperno1 · 17/09/2023 01:21

Does anyone know if Sephora will do a cheaper one filled with their own brand products? I thought I saw one somewhere but know now think I imaged it. DC would like something like that.

Possimpible · 17/09/2023 09:00

@CinnamonCoffee ah I did see that was in one of the doors but I thought surely that's not it..? This might be the worst year yet for Liberty and I thought last year was poor.

@Spacehopperno1 they did last year but I haven't seen that sort of thing this year

Talisin · 17/09/2023 10:55

moimichme · 17/09/2023 09:09

@Spacehopperno1 I found a link to something on a different website (not Sephora's) but it says it's not been released yet. Here is the link, anyway:

https://adventcalendar.co.uk/sephora-collection-advent-calendar/

I know it says 2023 in the description but that is a picture of 2022s calendar.

CinnamonCoffee · 17/09/2023 11:16

@Possimpible I like the surprise item and full size is £££. It's just why put a mini bloody soap in. At least make it full size. Even at full size it's only £14. And of course day 25. I really hate that product. I may get DD to change it for something else

QueefofSheena · 17/09/2023 11:50

@CinnamonCoffee is there a link to the Liberty full reveal/new product please?

Growlybear83 · 17/09/2023 12:05

What is the day 25 product in the Liberty calendar? I'm choosing between that and Harrods but they've both got several things I wouldn't use.

clary · 17/09/2023 12:09

@CinnamonCoffee sell it - for some reason I always find it sells well on ebay so it does have some fans (tho not me either). It's notionally worth £70 or something and I have sold it for £25-30

CinnamonCoffee · 17/09/2023 12:17

@clary I will end up selling just a shame it's day 25 but I'll just get DD to change things around.

@QueefofSheena I watched an opening on YouTube. Random life blog I think they are called which actually posts on here! Great video btw if you are reading

CinnamonCoffee · 17/09/2023 12:20

@Growlybear83 spoiler........

AB the rich cream Angry

Growlybear83 · 17/09/2023 12:21

Thank you! It could be worse!

QueefofSheena · 17/09/2023 12:45

@CinnamonCoffee thank you, I'll give it a watch. I'm considering whether to cancel as I've seen some jewellery I might get instead

clary · 17/09/2023 13:16

I agree it's a bit of a rubbish Day 25 product. Last year JLP had the gorgeous NEOM candle on Chr Day IIRC.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 17/09/2023 18:50

I watched @CinnamonCoffee link to Random Lifestyles Vlog unboxing the Liberty AC.
It looked really good much better than I thought it would be & now I'm tempted!
I've not tried the AB Rich cream so I can't complain about it yet 😂

Whereas after watching her Fortnum & Mason AC unboxing, I thought it looked pants, really not worth £260.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 17/09/2023 18:58

Forgot to add I liked how Liberty put the bracelet, hair clips & mirror in with another product so you don't go meh when you open that day's drawer.

Whereas F&M those lip & eye pencils in such large drawers 🙄
And that eye mask, make up bag & those make up brushes just look cheap!

Squishmymallow · 17/09/2023 19:36

I can’t remember if anyone was interested in asos but there is 20% off everything in the app, including the advent calendar, until 9pm tonight. Takes the price to £72!

Housewife2010 · 17/09/2023 19:42

Anyone tempted by Anthropologie?
