Are we going to buy or have we peaked?

Eltoria lol not entourage

Nearlyadoctor · 14/09/2023 21:08

@Someaddedsugar - I had F&M last year and 2 drawers were empty so yes definitely a reminder to check each drawer.
The calendar was gorgeous though, just a shame it’s so samey this year.

Someaddedsugar · 14/09/2023 21:11

@Nearlyadoctor it is very samey. I had it last year too but did use almost everything so felt it was quite a good buy. DS (5) did point out today quite a few of the drawers are ridiculously large for the size of the product, eg one of the largest draws is for a tiny lip balm size pot. I will say that I'm not particularly keen on the eye mask/wash bag. They look/feel a bit cheap in the context of the rest of the products. But 23/25 isn't bad.

Nearlyadoctor · 14/09/2023 21:26

@Someaddedsugar - I loved the Cult51 last year and have bought the night cream again since. The AA bath oils also seem a big hit but unfortunately I hate bath oil( love bubble bath though) , if they weren’t in it I I definitely would have been tempted again . Enjoy 😊

Bananaman123 · 14/09/2023 20:54

The fact the entourage got away with it was ridiculous. She even made a cheeky angry video trying to defend herself

I'm so sad that I missed this! 😂

MidnightMeltdown · 14/09/2023 23:11

@Someaddedsugar

Yes it was the eye mask/wash bag combo that put me off. If they'd included just one of these items, one AA bath oil, and one candle then I probably would have bought it. Aside from that issue, it's gorgeous.

TheChosenTwo · 14/09/2023 23:48

@Tambatamba yes on the knees!! I do have skin that leans towards the oily side by the end of the day but I just find the AB really thick and greasy, even the regular rich cream. It’s like a thicker version of e45, I have never understood why it’s considered premium!
I never buy it, just sometimes receive it in GWPs or in previous calendars. Gets whacked on my knees and legs now, usually over and done with in one or two nights.

TheChosenTwo · 14/09/2023 23:52

Ahh @MidnightMeltdown - glad you’ve gone for it! I have had one for a few years but this time it looked really worth it, great full sizes of things I either already know I love or things I’m looking forward to trying and would have possibly bought at some point when there are good offers on. Fantastic bargain for me having looked thoroughly at the contents and compared to some of the others I was interested in.

Charlotte tilbury looks really disappointing this year, so many tiny sizes and repeats. Box is pretty but essentially not really reusable/useful and not a reason to buy it imo.

FrogInTheFog · 15/09/2023 08:55

I've bought the Space NK one blind. I'm just hoping there's no bloody Ren glow tonic in it!

I'd like to get the Net A Porter, Liberty, and Selfridges too but as that's clearly ridiculous, I think it'll be NAP.

QueefofSheena · 15/09/2023 09:26

Slightly off-topic but does anyone have the TOYL boxes and tried the Freeze Frame wrinkle blocker? I'd love to hear another opinion.

MidnightMeltdown · 15/09/2023 12:14

I'd love to know how many calendars are produced and sold each year. It appears that space nk have sold over 6,000 already. I guess that they could sell at least 20,000 by December. Especially if they ship internationally.

Zoetrope1 · 15/09/2023 12:59

Also feeling underwhelmed by the AC offerings this year. Let’s see what LiB delivers.

Possimpible · 15/09/2023 13:23

I borderline lost my mind yesterday and almost talked myself into Vogue. I have since come to my senses and realised I could buy two full size candles of my choosing, TWC bed socks, a couple of skin care items and a piece of jewellery I actually want for probably less money... I think I'll actually end up getting Sephora, although haven't ruled out Harrods.

Boots looks good, not the right mix of products to tempt me but nice to see some good brands, and to get a Sol de Janeiro product that isn't Bum Bum cream.

BakeOffRewatch · 15/09/2023 15:52

So am I the only one seriously considering the Vogue one then? 😂

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/09/2023 18:04

My Boots AC is now with An Post so will be here on monday.

Even better, dh will be in the office on monday whilst I will be wfh so no eye rolls to contend with.

Giftwithpurchase · 15/09/2023 18:39

@BakeOffRewatch I'm considering Vogue too but only if there's a discount. Have also circled back to NAP ... 🤔 😂

Possimpible · 15/09/2023 18:52

@BakeOffRewatch as much as I love the idea of Vogue and think it would be great to open each morning, I had to think about whether I would actually use the stuff. The hoops aren't my style, I don't wear necklaces, and the bracelet is okay but not something I'd buy. Not that fussed on the Foreo device either so that's lots of the value wasted. I do still kinda want it just for the fun, but I'm trying not to buy things I won't realistically use.

MavisMcMinty · 15/09/2023 19:00

Had an email from Liberty asking if I still wanted to register an interest in their AC, and I found that yes I do, thank you very much! I can’t imagine December without a calendar. Hopefully by the time it goes on sale proper I’ll have another £20 in my BD account. And I’m waiting for the LiB calendar reveal too. M&S if all else fails, and maybe Glossybox.

catslikeparties · 15/09/2023 19:07

What is the bloody point of 12 day advent calendar?

They should call it a '12 days of Christmas' calendar if intended for that period. A 12 day 'advent' calendar just doesn't make sense.

MavisMcMinty · 15/09/2023 19:13

I only learnt recently on these threads that they’re “12th Night” calendars, which makes much more sense. Had one last year and didn’t know whether I was supposed to open Christmas Day’s drawer on Day 1 or Day 12!

AprilLady · 15/09/2023 19:24

@BakeOffRewatch I’m also still interested in Vogue. The only thing I definitely won’t wear are the hoop earrings, but DD will love them. I think if the new customer 10% discount works I’ll definitely get it.

The other one I’m likely to get is Sephora. It has a few duds, but lots I’ll use and I think it is excellent value for the price.

Twinsandsome · 15/09/2023 19:43

@BakeOffRewatch I’m not sure if it works or not but I’m almost sure I have a code on my bluelight card for vogue your welcome to try it actually looks like it is generic so I’m sure would work more than once

PicnicAtTheDisco · 15/09/2023 21:07

@QueefofSheena stay away from TOYL! She's an absolute crook, the woman who runs it.

Don't ask me how I know personally as I'll
Never tell but google her name and 'All
boxed Up' to go down a bit of a rabbit hole

HollyGolightly4 · 15/09/2023 21:40

I love the look of the vogue one...do you think there would be the chance it would seriously discount?!
