I’m happy with this box but am racking up a hefty beauty balance amount as not sure on the advent this year! Tried cuticle oil last night and it’s much nicer than one I was trying before (nail hq) and seems to have made a difference straight away. Mirror and mask are great - hopefully I’ll use the mask one day and not simply hoard!! Shame about the Liberty perfume sample I expect it will come in next box. I really liked the perfume yesterday on my skin and feels a nostalgic scent! Though today I sprayed in kitchen and both my kids said why did it smell like a hotel breakfast!!! Very odd…😂

A pretty average box for me.
Love the cuticle oil - I finished another up today, so great timing.
Mirror is adorable but I have a torte one I love already.
AB is predictable and dull.
Perfume - I'm not sure yet. Very familiar and I don't know why.
Mask - I like this brand but can't afford it, and take masks like this away with me, so pretty pleased.

Another who is disappointed there are no liberty fragrance samples in there!

Sad fool that I am I scratched the pictures in the perfume leaflet in case they had used a bit of scratch and sniff technology.

They hadn’t.

Definitely worth a try.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 19/10/2023 09:59

Oh hang on!

£225? Really? A bit much.

QueefofSheena · 19/10/2023 10:15

@ChardonnaysBeastlyCat no wonder we didn't get a sample! 😱

Jellycats4life · 19/10/2023 10:17

£225 for 100ml is very steep. Also, why 100ml? I never need bottles of perfume that large - I have too many! 30 or 50ml is plenty for me.

Edited

Absolutely.

I agree the Granado perfume is really long-lasting! I sprayed it at 4 pm, dh came home at 6 and said I smelled lovely but by 10 pm I could still smell it strongly and found it too masculine on me. Peppery is nice but it was a bit one-dimensional. Still, great size and I think dh will wear it. Another one who thought a Liberty fragrance sample would have been included. Sheet masks I donate to my nieces, I have good skin and can never see any improvement with these.

TragicMuse · 19/10/2023 12:41

I'm not sure about the scent. It's got something a bit too...at the musk end of things for me. It's not awful like Body Shop white musk (instant vom) but there's an element I'm not entirely liking...

I've just grown my nails again after years of biting so the cuticle oil is a godsend.

And I've not had AB before so I'm looking forward to that.

Pigtailsandall · 19/10/2023 13:14

I'm slightly torn on this box - the mask I'll use but it's not something that particularly excites me. I've never used a cuticle oil and I don't paint my nails, so someone please convince me that I should add this to my beauty routine!
I have several of the AB creams and they are very blah.
The perfume - I'm undecided. I like it enough but I'm not sure I like it so much as to use it over my other perfumes, so I wonder if I should give it away now. But I like that it's a decent size.
The mirror I'm happy with, as my tiny little makeup bag mirror broke a few months back so I was actually thinking of buying one anyway!

I also went to the perfume launch yesterday. The queue at 6pm was immense! It was absolutely packed! People did a beeline to sniff the perfumes (I think not including one in the box was very deliberate) so I went to the prosecco instead and waited for the rush to die down. There were clearly lots of keen people out to be amongst the first 100 to get a silk scarf. I had a clear favourite of the fragrances, and the scent lasted really well - but I don't think I would pay £225 for a bottle at this point.

NepheliLoux · 19/10/2023 13:28

Which was your favourite @Pigtailsandall

Pigtailsandall · 19/10/2023 14:48

@NepheliLoux I liked the Tudor, although it seemed like a soft scent which might not last. I also liked the Zephirine, which was maybe the one I'd actually buy. Adelphi Sun was lovely, but very summery - it felt out of place on a rainy autumn evening. Wild Rosalinda was incredibly strong floral, reminded me of my great-grandma's perfumes. It was my least favourite

AgingDisgracefullyHere · 19/10/2023 14:48

I forgot to cancel this subscription and decided I don't mind. I suppose I have nearly £200 banked by now.

I get this and Look Fantastic. I was getting several more but I have wayyyy too much stuff hoarded so I canceled most of them.

I just tried the mask and it was nice. I would never buy a mask but I have tons of them hoarded.

I don't know how I feel about the fragrance. It's a bit masculine for me, but I do feel like it's subtle and I probably smell nice to others.

My cuticles are a ragged mess so the oil is welcome, though I've never even bothered with using any of my regular oils, like jojoba, that I regularly use in my hair. I suspect having a tiny bottle of something labeled specifically for nails is a bit silly.

NepheliLoux · 19/10/2023 15:03

@Pigtailsandall Zephirine is the one I think I’d like best based on the description.
I wish they sold them in smaller quantities for less money, I would be more likely to buy one. Realistically I’m not gonna spend that much money on a perfume I’ve not tested and I’ve no plans to go to London anytime soon sadly.

Growlybear83 · 19/10/2023 15:36

Now Im fighting the temptation of going through my advent calendar to smell the Tudor perfume. I suppose an 8ml bottle is ok given the price for 100ml.

MavisMcMinty · 19/10/2023 15:52

I used the AB cream last night and this morning and must say my skin feels lovely today. It’s a very thick cream though, feel I’m having to use a lot each time, and the tiny tube probably only has a couple more applications left inside.

I signed up in September and got the box from July

Thanks both

Agree with many PPs that the LBTY perfumes are so ambitiously priced!

At £225/100ml they're on a par with established and global niche luxury brands like Le Labo and even with some of the (relatively) cheaper Frederic Malle scents.

What's more, all those brands sell 50ml bottles, giving people a lower price point to buy into. I know producing volume variants adds a lot to production costs but £225 as the lowest entry point at launch for the range feels very punchy to me. I hope they did proper pricing research on this. Although I wouldn't be sad for my own sake if they had to discount in a few months, as the Tudor one sounds right up my street... But not at that price!

EasterIssland · 20/10/2023 08:37

I just cancelled my subscription, I’m not getting much out of it don’t like the boxes and forces me to buy in liberty when sometimes other companies have got better offers
I’ve got £90 to spend which I don’t know where to spend it

You don't have to spend it beauty. You can buy from across the shop online if you prefer. I usually buy jewellery!

supadupapupascupa · 20/10/2023 09:13

Great customer service as always. They're sending out a new box due to missing mirror. Can't believe I get to keep the rest. A mirror would have been fine. I guess it's easier and cheaper to send a full box. Fingers crossed there's a mirror in it. I actually need one!!!!

viques · 20/10/2023 09:34

@supadupapupascupa

thats great news. Hope it arrives safely.
