Don't want to burst too many bubbles but baggier styles def aren't going away and the skinnier styles that are on-trend for AW 2023 aren't really like those of a few years ago.
I think narrow straight leg jeans that aren't tapered at the ankle are supposed to be a more "fashionable" cut.
Or skinny jeans as part of a more layered look with a balanced/interesting silhouette ie not tight all over & styled with heels but styled with lace up knee boots & a long sharply tailored wool coat
And there have been legging styles on the catwalks too like skin tight combats (um yeah that'll be a no from me)
But more voluminous styles def aren't going away. A currently fashionable cut is the "balloon" style which, I've seen some women look very chic in but I think I'd look like an MC Hammer tribute act myself...!
Either way if you're not bothered about trends does it even matter??
I also feel like it's important to find your own sense of style based on what suits you & your personality.
I AM interested in fashion but I also think it looks kind of desperate and unoriginal to wear head-to-toe trends and change my entire look/throw out clothes based on what I think the youngsters have decided is fashionable now I'm in my 30s especially 🤣
I buy what I know suits me, things that will last, classic and timeless "basics" . I do add a few nods to trends and consider trends in how I style outfits. Lately I'm loving oversized blazers & poplin shirts, chunky hoop earrings and delicate strappy sandals.
But I do feel that the most stylish people I know are those who out together outfits in a creative or cohesive way and have a strong sense of what suits them.
In fact plenty of the trends that end up filtering down into the mainstream were started from street style & people who dress in an original, interesting way.
