Apparently skinny jeans are back 'in'!

All I can say is 'Ha! Ha!'.

I've still got them in my wardrobe. Won't be fairly embarrassed wearing them now. Will also keep on enjoying me wide legs and 'mum' styles.

It made me giggle, though. It seems that as soon as anyone approaching middle aged wearing any particular style happens then a new an opposite style has to occur! 😂 Well, 'Mwhah, ha, ha!It takes me a while to throw stuff away. So I will remain perfectly cutting edge.😁'.

I hope you’re not the same OP who said she was going to buy some hooped earrings and made some MNers feel faint by just mentioning the words hoops.

I’m not sure how those MNers would cope if they saw you wearing skinny jeans AND hoops.

@Chippy4me I think uou started the fashion then. I love flares.

YES! I like that!
Maybe I am fashionable 🤣

Delatron · 08/09/2023 16:30

I have a pair of flares they are not out of fashion, perfectly fashionable. Maybe not the height of fashion that the awful Mum jeans are or barrel leg but I love my flares and they are flattering.

I look like a clown in mom jeans.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 08/09/2023 16:41

Also hate mom jeans - so unflattering on me. Skinnies are great in winter tucked into boots.

Let me guess - they are are "tacky", "grim" and "chavvy".

I still remember the poor OP who posted for help finding a sexy skirt/underwear combo she was wearing for a private dinner with her DP. Jesus, you'd have thought she'd suggested wearing crotchless panties to parents evening.

🤣🤣🤣

Yes all three of those words were used several times actually.

Fatpigsinblankets · 08/09/2023 17:05

I never understood how anyone wore non-skinny jeans in winter? What do you do with baggy jeans when it’s cold and wet re. shoes?? I hate trainers in the winter so would always go back to skinnies & boots

OooohAhhhh · 08/09/2023 17:08

Jeez I didn't realise they wasn't even in? It's all I've worn for years! I have absolutely 0 fashion sense but good to know I will look "on trend" now 🤣

Well in the 90s we got round it by wearing platforms.😁 But recent winters in the snow I have been mostly in outdoor gear, waterproof trews and walking boots. They don't de ice round here so it's the only way to go if you actually want to walk about.

Just seen the above ad in latest edition of Tatler. 😁

This whole in/ out thing is ridiculous and only serves business profits. Just wear the jeans style that you like and that suits you. Any jeans style can be stylish, just depends how you wear them and what with.

ginderella85 · 08/09/2023 17:44

Missingmyusername · 08/09/2023 16:03

They’re awful.

I can’t believe women are wearing them in this heat either.

I don't wear any Jean in this heat but I couldn't imagine wearing boot cut jeans like some! I'm not that old but obviously not very fashionable as I didn't know skinny jeans had ever left the fashion world lol

meanderingbrook · 08/09/2023 17:49

Oh and I'm not wearing jeans in this heat either. Long wafty, swishy dresses all the way!

We are all adults here I presume?
Different jeans suit different people.
Let's embrace all of them and get on with our fucking lives Grin

Calling something dated is.......dated.

Nannyfannybanny · 08/09/2023 17:59

Never went "0ut" for me. I'm 5ft size 10, anything else looks ridiculous, like I'm a little kid, having a dressing up session in my mum's clothes.

GasDrivenNun · 08/09/2023 18:00

FKATondelayo · 08/09/2023 16:05

OK, well can someone tell me where I can buy skinny jeans that are exactly like old school Topshop Jamies. But not the elastane monstrosities that Asos is currently trying to pass off as Jamies. Proper denim.

On the Topshop website or ASOS

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 08/09/2023 20:21

I like them on other people, just not on me.

LadyBird1973 · 09/09/2023 10:05

I love skinnies - I'm not going back to the 'bootcut dragging on the floor, through puddles' look! Remember the 90s when everybody had torn, muddy hems?

LolaSmiles · 09/09/2023 10:23

I never stopped wearing them.

They were obviously going to be back by autumn because they tuck into boots so well. Who wants to have damp denim soaking up pavement muck when it's autumn?

NearlyMonday · 09/09/2023 15:56

Sadly I look like a parsnip in skinnies, unless I roll them up a bit at the bottom (which seems to balance me out a bit) and wear a tunic/longish top
