Does anyone know how to tell if something if garment dyed or not?

Surely the label will be dyed @Snowyowl78 . Toast labels are cream in the main aren’t they?

Well I’ll have a quick check when I eventually get up @Snowyowl78 , currently drinking coffee in bed. I had a momentary doubt after I posted about a linen shirt.

Garment dyed pieces would usually have slightly different colour saturation to garments made from solid dyed fabric.
The garment picks up the colour less uniformly in areas like collars, seams, cuffs,button bands to give that gently worn look.

I bought the yellow linen sundress/pinnie in the sale, not sure whether to try and alter it or send it back. The bust sits badly on me, it is snug at the top and sort of flattens the top of my bust and pushes it down, not flattering at all there, and the straps are oddly shaped. But the rest of the dress is lovely, although more mustard than in the images. I am a 10-12, a 10 in old Toast sizing, fairly big cup size but narrow back. I bought the medium . I wish I had bought the Large as maybe being loose would sort out the issue. Does anyone else have this ?

Yes the size label in cream, checked and in some Francis t shirts and linen blouse the actual label that says Toast is dyed the colour of the garment.

Yes I bought rather a lot that time. Think it was an archive. My haul included the Millar coat and the Fern dress, and a few other bits. I love an archive sale, there’s always regrets about when you hadn’t bought before.

Was that the fair isle 20% sale?

@Dee1224 The My issue with the ikat dress isn't faulty manufacturing but a design error (IMO): because the front skirt is rectangular with the stripe running vertically but the back skirt is a trapezoid and the pattern repeat isn't regular, side seams are chaotic. Again it doesn't show so much when it's all gathered up (which is how Toast styles it and seems to be the look most of you prefer too!) I'm just awkward in preferring the looseness and no doubt soon to join @Stravaig on the naughty step. At least I'll be in witty company.

The Seasalt dress is nice but doesn't read Toasty to me, maybe I'm just over-familiar with Toast's dress offerings 😅

I have this dress in 2 colours. Both are large but they are old Toast sizing. I have worn them a lot, especially the coffee coloured one.
I also have the jumpsuit in green in a large. They are OK on the bust. I'm a 14.

They do flatten the bust a little on me but not so they look ridiculous.

At the time of old Toast sizes, I did size up in this one as everyone was complaining about it being tight on the bust.
Loved the yellow but worried it be too bright for me.

Just had a quick look and I bought archive items and fair isle in November last year. It looks like the fair isle discount came first then the sale later in the month.
I agree @dudsville it was a good sale! I got the Luna dress I’d missed out on previously and a beautiful alpaca grey cropped fluffy cardigan.
