I don't know what to expect @Theteapotsbrokenspout i had thought the december/January and the June/july ones were the only long ones, but the last one was also long. I'm expecting this one to be short.

Just marking the page!

Firesideknitting · 06/09/2023 22:35

hello all, gosh there’s been 5 threads since I last commented on anything. I’ve just taken delivery of a very small selection of item, but was delighted by the kindred gift (socks). Also after what feels like decorating for an age, I’ve got a couple of my toast home pieces out in the hall !

I did want to ask if anyone had any of the netherton items? How you found them ?

so many thanks

Excellent thread title - I am extremely concerned about Toast items I've parted with. I mean, what if <gasp> they're buried under a pile on the back of a chair, never seeing sunlight or an appreciative eye??

Looking forward to another sale, shame I have low funds!!

Oh my goodness, is that your home? It’s so beautiful. Serious house envy. I do think you would easily get certified as a repository of all things Toast. Me, otoh, would def only get a provisional ‘needs improvement’ licence. I might be allowed socks to start with. The odd napkin as neckerchief. But not much else.

I have sent so many of my Toast items to new homes with intriguing addresses, all over the world. Clearly I need to embark upon a Grand Tour welfare check, to ensure no shrooms are amiss.

Noodle421 · 06/09/2023 23:07

Thank you for the new thread@ilovecherries Xxx

Firesideknitting · 06/09/2023 23:10

@ilovecherries thats so kind of you to say, yes it’s our home, to be fair the stairs look very grand, they are very pretty… We live on an old farm(just farming fresh air now).

my hubby has just found some items that he can fit into at 6’6, it’s not an easy task for him.

hoping he’ll take me over to York or Harrogate shopping soon. I’ve my eye on a blouse ..

Stoic123 · 06/09/2023 23:37

@ilovecherries - thanks for the new thread.

Firesideknitting · 06/09/2023 23:47

Very lovely kindred socks, the enamel mug earlier this year, I found a bit of a let down( just not something we’d use). But these, most definitely will

No sale this morning that I can see…… :(

OftenOrange · 07/09/2023 06:56

Hoping there will be some nice jackets , not too wide and boxy please !

Dee1224 · 07/09/2023 07:27

I think they started the sale at something like 12 or 12.30pm last time.

dudsville · 07/09/2023 07:36

Does anyone have the hiko block print nightdress (or pjs)? I'm interested in how thin the fabric is. I have the botanical block print nightdress but it feels too see through so I don't wear it much. I recently discovered it makes an excellent slip and I would like to have another in a similarly thin fabric.

Edited

My sale email last year came at 7pm. But sure some folk managed to sneak in earlier.

Countmeout · 07/09/2023 08:30

I have bookshelf envy @Firesideknitting . I love that quilt too. Is that going to be its permanent home? I currently have a hundred year old quilt made by my grandmother or her sisters over my (very small) bannister. My children won’t appreciate it when I am gone and I thought I might as well see it every day instead of leaving it in a drawer.

Is this the sale that is done and dusted by Monday? It give you one go at things. Mind you the last one was far too long.

Snowyowl78 · 07/09/2023 08:32

Yeah I think it was only a weekend last time

MiracleToast · 07/09/2023 08:53

Checking in for sale time —thanks for new thread 🤗

Snowyowl78 · 07/09/2023 09:00

last few times the early access has been at 7pm but the actual sale is released I’m the day

lordloveadog · 07/09/2023 13:51

What did you think of the live?

dudsville · 07/09/2023 14:27

I've just watched it @lordloveadog . I loved seeing the green wool coat. The denim dress that I wasn't interested in is quite cute actually, but I still don't see a place for it in my life . Love the dungarees. I really want that white pintuck but no way could I ever spend that on a top. I like these two presenters. What did you make of it?

Countmeout · 07/09/2023 14:32

Well it confirmed the green coat is the same shape as the Millar without the belt. Also that I’m not tall enough for cord dungarees. Nothing really tempting me. I am thinking I can blanket stitch a woollen hat from last year though. And I missed Nicki. She always wears something I then buy.

dudsville · 07/09/2023 14:53

@Firesideknitting's pretty blanket display motivated to look in the homewear section, which I don't often do. Some gorgeous things but I'm drawn to the wool blankets. I already have two toast wool blankets, they aren't used as bedding, and I've no children to "borrow" from me. So my question is, how many wool blankets is too many?

lordloveadog · 07/09/2023 15:05

I rather enjoyed the video. Happened to catch it actually live because I looked at the website in case sale. I like Kat. Agree the denim dress is cute, but it must be a very neat fit because looked tight under the arms even on the model. I thought the green coat beautiful, but the sleeves would not suit me - wide shoulders. The blanket stitch stripe cotton top looks very nice too, but madly expensive. Ditto the pintuck top, but that probably only good on the small of bust.

Saurus72 · 07/09/2023 16:04

I really like Kat too. Didn’t make me want to buy anything though 😊
