Yes, thinking tomorrow sale start is likely. I know that some of you have bought my old Toast items so hope you are all treating them kindly.

I ordered a jumper to try and, not ashamed to say, for the free socks. They just arrived. Socks are cute, but the jumper, in a large (I'm now a 12) looks to neat to warrant trying on, and in this heat I'm not going to bother, it's going back.

I’ve been looking for a sale back door but no dice! I reckon it won’t show up til tomorrow (if it is tomorrow!)

Reading the Toast Sales Runes

For - previous years' dates (except last year), stock leaving stores, wish list items reappearing.

Against- last year sales date, Kindle gift and new styling video.

I think theory is that would have been 8th September 2022 if followed previous years but events (Queen) changed it.

Hi all,

My order arrived - the one that I got 15% off and the sweater stone got missed from the order.

I am so disappointed:

The high neck cotton long sleeve tee in Medium is tiny. I have a relatively small head, but I had to force mine through. Once on, it felt and looked like I was wearing a straitjacket- apart from the armholes, which were too big, so sizing up isn’t an option, even if I wanted to. I also didn’t like the feel of the cotton - it was slippery like nylon - just weird.

The other item is the summer towel. I really liked this and decided it would look good as a shawl in summer. However, when I looked closely it has long random dark streaks of the border thread in various places - they look awful - like pen marks. I know the label says ‘handwoven with pleasing irregularities’ but these aren’t pleasing, just horrid. I also found a hole in one section with a bulky doubled up and pulled thread😱.

Obviously both are going back. Would there be any point me taking the towel to a store and asking to swap it for an undamaged one? If I reorder I would lose my 15% off.

Apologies for the long post. Also, given that Toast don’t do online exchanges, so I can’t ask for another towel instead or something else on the same order, would I have to/should I send back the Kindred gift?

That’s the high neck tee I was interested in@Dee1224 , I don’t think I’ll bother now, toast sizing seems to be even more random than before they changed it.
I lost my 15% discount when I sent back the poplin top, I didn’t bother to try to get it reissued as I’d already had to get cs to apply it on the phone as the online code didn’t work, and quite frankly I couldn’t face going through all that palaver again.

Also double check your refund when you send back your order as when I sent mine back that included the 15% discount they deducted £3 for delivery - which I had to ring up about to get it refunded.

And personally I’d keep the socks.

@Dee1224 had 15% off once and they let me honour the price on the exchange for a new size. I wouldn’t send the gift back definitely not

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - Toast have charged/not refunded the £3 delivery charge for me so often, that I am half beginning to suspect it’s deliberate. I had to chase up three times last time it happened before getting a refund. It’s ‘only’ £3 but it’s the principle for me.

@Snowyowl78 - I was thinking about contacting CS to see if they would give me the 15% off another towel, but I thought they might say it was ‘meant’ to be like that, (although surely not and certainly not with a hole!)

Do they sell the towels in store? Would I be allowed to do an exchange if so?

@Dee1224 When I took something faulty to a store they didn’t exchange online purchases, only refund and then I had to repurchase (another palaver for no reason).

I very rarely get to a store but I’ve found homeware is quite thin on the ground.

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I think I will sleep on it and decide tomorrow whether to bother speaking to CS. The towel is not exactly an essential purchase, but is nice.

Was it you btw who tried on the high kitty clogs with a buckle and strap? I was just wondering in case they're in the sale how they were, both for fit (narrowness) and walkability?

Does anyone else find this thread becomes almost unusable and slow when it gets towards the end?

I wonder could we get this thread to the finish tonight and get another started @ilovecherries in prep for sale tomorrow. We might otherwise be in danger of missing whoever finds it first. We’re at page 39.

Hi @faustina - well remembered! Yes, it was me - I found them true to size and regular width. In the brief try on round the shop, they were ok to walk in.

However, the back strap had holes that weren’t punched through so I couldn’t tighten them up. (I didn’t feel like I could make the holes myself in the shop!)

They are on my sale wishlist, even though the clogs I bought in SM are too uncomfortable to wear, (so annoyed with myself for that purchase!)

I am debating whether to bother with pictures and CS re: unnecessary towel - will decide tomorrow. Such a shame - it’s very clearly faulty and shouldn’t have passed quality control. My sister has one and it’s perfect.

Thanks Dee. I tried the low ones on in a shop a while back and they weren't very comfortable. Maybe I'll give them a shot.

It’s only after the last sale that I created a wish list and account, so I was wondering what the best strategy is during the sale to grab the bits you want most? Will sale items (the new price) show up on your wish list and you can simply add from there? I ask this because items I wanted most have sold out so quickly, and want to try be on top of it this time round.

I was thinking the same as you @Countmeout , I've only learned this thread that @ilovecherries creates them, don't want to over step anything, so how about it @ilovecherries ?

@Dee1224 , I think you've had the worst luck with faulty items. I admire you still have the will to order!
