That denim dress is great, I totally recommend it if it appears in this sale. I bought it in the last sale to try, thinking it would definitely be going back, and I have worn it so much.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/09/2023 15:13

Was that the one you had the dye issue with @ScottishMouse ?

Yes, well remembered! I have washed it a number of times now and there is still a slight issue, but much less. I notice it on my underwear after a day wearing it, but it always washes out. And I probably wouldn’t wear a white or light coloured top underneath. But it’s worth it for me, as I really like it.

Dee1224 · 05/09/2023 15:28

I have that Dhuggie @Theteapotsbrokenspout - I love it.

Dee1224 · 05/09/2023 15:33

Annoyingly, I have just received a Toast catalogue, despite unsubscribing from post. I am also quite miffed by Toast’s inability to understand that I am female - they insist on addressing me as Mr as I have an androgynous name!

Having said that, I have read through the catalogue rather than chucking it straight in the recycling and now I want a woollen hood! It’s like something from a children’s knitwear pattern circa 1940s but strangely appealing!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/09/2023 15:37

I’m hoping that none of this is actually in the sale (along with my other 48 wish list items) as I really don’t need any more dresses, plus I spent so much in the last sale. Homeware is what I would like.

ilovecherries · 05/09/2023 15:42

I’m miffed that I got neither a catalogue OR a kindred gift. Just an email telling me I could get a catalogue from a shop. Yeah, we’ll if they had shops in normal places rather than posh cathedral cities and London that might be an option

Oh no, @ilovecherries 😟Did you order something?

Yes, just a tee - not to get the gift but because I actually wanted a navy tee - but no gift. So just as well it wasn’t my motivation. Tbf, I didn’t get an email telling me about it either so it may be that it wasn’t offered to all kindred members

That’s really weird @ilovecherries - I didn’t get the gift email either, but when I placed an order, the confirmation said a gift was en route. Can’t confirm as yet as the order is taking its time getting here!

faustina · 05/09/2023 16:12

@ilovecherries I didn't get the gift email either, but I did get the catalogue at the weekend.
I think contemplating the coat for a while is very sensible. I can't get my head around things when they're not in season

mizu · 05/09/2023 16:18

When you say catalogue, do you mean the fold out paper? I got in the post yesterday. No proper catalogue for me although I have previously received them.

I just spotted the hoods !
I have one I knitted, they are so useful as you can wear them down and then pull up on a freezing day.

Dee1224 · 05/09/2023 16:28

The hood does look nice @Alpacasoft - if only I could knit!

@mizu my catalogue has pages. I have stopped getting the folded paper things after asking not to have them - those do go straight in the recycling. It’s really not environmentally friendly to still be sending out hard copies of catalogues, especially to people who don’t want them. Boden were particularly hard to stop and they still send stuff now even though I unsubscribed years ago.

I never used to dither so much , this striped poplin skirt is hanging in the wardrobe and still not been worn so I was intending to take it back to UK next week and return .
Does anyone have this and find it useful?
Apart from this top as paired by Nikki , and the white Reed shirt I can’t seem to make it work in the way I’d hoped .
It seems to work best pulled below the waist as otherwise it bunches at the back .
Love some feedback as I kinda loved it on the Toast ladies.

I am considering buying this Toast like dress from Sainsburys! Every now and then they produce something fabulous and I'm hoping this might be one of those things!

Countmeout · 05/09/2023 18:00

I have it @OftenOrange and have worn it quite a bit. Today I have it on with the Nikki top as it is warm ( for here). I’ve worn it with a Boden sleeveless T-shirt/vest , the one they used to do with the baubles/ balls not sure how to describe these, round the sleeve and collar. I have the same top in navy and khaki and have worn those with it too. They are 4/5 years old and I am furious they’ve discontinued them as my white one is getting tired. I tried it on with the Toast white Cotton Oxford easy shirt and I think it works but is too warm for me at the moment. I also have worn it with a plain white Cos T-shirt and it works with a v neck easy fit vest (Next) . I think it works with the navy linen Toast shirt, the one they show with the fungereek balloon trousers. But too warm atm. I’m so glad I bought it given the amount I’ve worn it. It’s terribly comfortable and airy. I have to say I prefer it with a pair of mules and feel a bit clumpy if I put trainers on with it.

I love the hood too in green, thinking of growing a second head so I can wear it and the hat this winter. I like the way it can be worn round the neck and then pulled up.

lordloveadog · 05/09/2023 18:13

Orange I think that looks great on you!

Saurus72 · 05/09/2023 19:02

Agree, you look fab in your skirt @OftenOrange !

I think it looks good on you, its got a sort of low key elegance about it, especially with that top. I think it might look good with long-sleeved navy/washed black tops too, or even the mariner jumper?

I swithered over that skirt, and really wish I'd bought it, fingers crossed its in the sale.

Glow in the dark trousers.

Stravaig · 05/09/2023 19:21

@AFingerofFudge That is very Toasty, pure cotton, even has pockets!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/09/2023 20:30

@AFingerofFudge A real bargain compared to toast!
