Oh great , a new thread , thank you ; suddenly I couldn’t post on the last one so hoping this will ping through . If so, belated thanks to all those sharing their Toast outfits!

Alpacasoft · 18/08/2023 09:11

I really enjoyed the Toast live but mainly because she was so interesting.
Loved her studio and was eyeballing all the yarn.
At last someone who knows about fabric, dyes etc instead of the usual blustering their way through it.
Clothes wise though we are exact opposites, I'm tall and lanky .
I though everything overwhelmed her a bit apart from the dress.
Still it was nice and she has a lovely natural way in front of the camera.
Resisting the urge the hoik out undyed yarn and have a go !

I'm not buying at the moment, I tend to stick my monthly budget aside and then have a flurry of spending in the sale and will decide what I want from the new drop.
I use a CC for purchases and just transfer the money from my budget.
Still tweaking my list.

She was very natural in front of the cameras. Think I should do a monthly budget. Except for sale times!

Thanks ilovecherries for the new (but artistically worn-in) thread!
The crinkle things really jumped out at me from the live, unexpectedly lovely silky drape. Can't remember if anyone here bought one -- how do you find it wears and fares after laundering? Also learned I had been pronouncing ikat incorrectly 😮

Congrats to @mizu DD and best wishes to other Edinburgh aspirants. It is the loveliest city, the only one I would leave London for! However, I am now wondering if there are any other 30-something Toasties here (or indeed younger)?

I don't always spend the monthly budget that month.
If it's approaching sale time it builds up nicely.
It stops me impulse buying, then not liking stuff , then having to get rid.
Also I've learnt an awful lot about the pricing algorithms used in fashion recently.
Stepping off that train !

Thanks for the new thread @ilovecherries Im waiting for my Suki trousers to arrive and groaning so much when I hear the love for the indigo trousers @ToastCosILoveIt do you prefer the Suki or the indigos or is it impossible to compare? I can’t possibly watch the new drop in September. I need to reign in. Didn’t help watching the new live today. The clothes were styled so beautifully.

@Noodle421 it is almost impossible to compare as both will serve different purposes for me. At the moment I would probably say the indigo ones are my favourite just because I love the style and the width and how they make me feel when I am wearing them. Someone said upthread that Katrina didn’t look good in them and I agree. I do think they need something slightly more fitted on top to counter the battiness. If I wear baggy on top and on the bottom I end up looking lost and larger than I am. Having said that, Wearisitatkat on Instagram often teams two baggy pieces together and pulls it off so it can be done.

AFingerofFudge · 18/08/2023 11:02

Thanks for the new thread, and thanks for the uplifting comments on the last thread when I was on a bit of a downer about my weight!!

I am currently on hols in Ireland, sadly nowhere near scout in Dublin! I have been rocking my toast clothes all week, even on the beach!

AFingerofFudge · 18/08/2023 11:05

Sorry I pressed post too soon. I have come across a really interesting clothes shop with lots of brands I've not heard off, it also has a brand called elemente Clement. Has anyone heard of it? I bought a boiled wool over jacket about two years ago (a bit like a gilet or vest, but no opening at the front) from a posh garden centre in the Cotswolds and I have worn it loads. Anyhow, I have splurged and bought something that is fairly similar to that but it has side ties and is sleeveless and it's gorgeous. It was a bit pricey, but I figured that I would get lots of wear from it and I needed some souvenir from my holiday. I've been trying to find it on their website to put a picture up, but I can't translate from the German!

OftenOrange · 18/08/2023 11:12

It’s so darned hot here , I managed to snag a striped poplin skirt in my size on a recent trip to UK , and plan to wear it tonight paired with the dark blue grey tie neck top à la Nikki.

I also really enjoyed the recent Live , my take on the outfits is that she looked lovely but IMO youth, charm and arty backdrop contributed to that .
The Maya needle cord looked gorgeous, but having the check version from last Winter I know how little I wore it , the big sleeves make wearing jumpers or jackets tricky.

ilovecherries · 18/08/2023 11:41

I have the cotton Maya (bought on the FB page) and I love it but I’m not convinced the style lends itself so well to cord, which for me is more a winter fabric. Too draughty round the chest for me.

@ilovecherries thanks for the new thread, I'm not doing well at keeping up! It moves sooo fast.

@mizu big congratulations to your daughter. Edinburgh is fab and I'm sure she'll love it there.

@ToastCosILoveIt I have the ginger blouse sitting in my basket along with the russet forward seam trousers. I liked the combo on the website. Glad to hear it's as nice in real life as it is on the screen. I do like Toast blouses - great for work as well as casual.

I watched the Toast live last night but wasn't that taken by anything much. The Maya in cord looked nice, (I have last year's checked version). I liked the presenter the most, very engaging and natural.

I had a bit of a hiccup with one of my returns and an item didn't get refunded. It's the first time I've ever had this happen but it was all quickly, so was impressed by customer services.

I'm wearing the wonderful pomelo culottes today with the navy collared Hamptons sweater. They have rapidly become one of my most cherished items in my wardrobe.

DH and I are heading to Cambridge next week, so whilst he's doing his errand I shall nip around the corner to Toast to have a look at a few of the other items I've put on my wish list. I hope there might be a few more new items.

faustina · 18/08/2023 14:40

I thought that cord dress looked very low in the live too, and wondered if that might have been why she was wearing the scarf.

@AFingerofFudge - I have heard of elemente Clemente from a shop I follow in instagram called wovenstore online. Lovely clothes but VERY expensive!!

ilovecherries · 18/08/2023 15:30

Snowyowl78 · 18/08/2023 15:12

I have also splurged on a gilet, this one from Sideline. What they don’t show you here is that it has a lovely cotton gingham inside and that it is fully reversible with pockets and buttons on both sides!

Oh, I LOVE that. It’s gorgeous. And would ge a prime example of buying for my actual life than my imagined one. It’s so lovely.

@ilovecherries it is lovely, I had to keep the Large as they are quite small at sideline. For vanity reasons I really wanted the medium (silly!) but had to upsize so I could do it up comfortably. I don’t think you want a gilet looking right. I’m going to wear it with the Toast long sleeved Breton

Snowyowl78 · 18/08/2023 15:33

*looking tight I meant!

ilovecherries · 18/08/2023 15:59

It’s a thing of beauty and will elevate lots of outfits from the ordinary.

faustina · 18/08/2023 16:37

@Snowyowl78 - very beautiful, and how clever about the check reverse! It's going to look brilliant with a Breton

dudsville · 18/08/2023 17:28

I love that @Snowyowl78 , I'm a sucker for gingham.

I watched the toast live and liked her very much but I'm just not taken by much in the current stock. Worried my era with toast could be coming to an end, but i have enough to see me through a long while! Today i wore the olive oil shirt dress, perfect for warm weather, it gives in to the warm weather while holding a smart enough silhouette.

Noeggsontoast · 18/08/2023 17:33

@Snowyowl78 that looks fab and will be a very useful piece. There's a Sideline stockist near me that I looked in today on my way for a haircut. They didn't have that item but they had some lovely blouses. They also had the jumper your gilet is styled with on the website.

Stoic123 · 18/08/2023 17:42

Nice gilet @Snowyowl78. Just got delivery of their Una bag today (sale price) having got FOMO after I gaving one to a friend as part of her birthday present.

I'm popping in to pick up a Toast repaired jumper (moth damage) tomorrow so will have a nosy around the shop. Not planning on buying anything but will struggle to walk away without the olive wrap scarf if it's in stock.

I have my eye on the shearling version...

Snowyowl78 · 18/08/2023 19:09

@Sooverthemill oh dear I also have that on preorder - have gone gilet bonkers
