@Brillenbar47 Those cords are gorgeous 😍Probably not workable for my high rise/long arse, but the look is 💯

@alliscalm I regularly wondered if I'm quite the Right Sort for Toast when they post 🙄stuff like this, but the camaraderie here reassures me 😆
Not that I was judging their latest frangipane video for inadequately browned butter or anything.....

OftenOrange · 02/09/2023 19:22

I’m a sucker for the folksy foraging Llandello on Instagram and was deciding that the embroidered skirt ,which had originally made me think of a Boden/ curtain cross , was highly desirable and the whole look was swoon worthy.
Then I saw this pared back look from Margaret Howell , just perfection IMO.

@clowniform , i live in hope, might be a long wait.

clowniform · 02/09/2023 19:27

*financier not frangipane, even

clowniform · 02/09/2023 19:28

Love that MH look @OftenOrange I'd thought the new collection a bit too literally back-to-school-ish but must take another look.

ScottishMouse · 02/09/2023 19:32

Oh I would love to see those ikat culottes in the sale @clowniform. Although I tried them on a while back and the waist was quite tight, so I might need to replace the elastic. That definitely rules them out at full price.

alliscalm · 02/09/2023 19:49

@clowniform I do love that skirt. I will seek it out in the flesh then maybe start saving.

Saurus72 · 02/09/2023 21:04

Wow this is a fast moving thread!

My navy leaves Bryn dress arrived and she’s a keeper. This is the first dress in the ‘new sizing’ where I’ve actually needed the bigger size, large as opposed to medium. Delighted with it, i think a true year-round dress except for snow and 30+ degrees.

@Saurus72 - looks great on you. Have Bryn FOMO but no point wishing for a different body shape.

Saurus72 · 02/09/2023 21:20

@Stoic123 Ah interesting, I find this dress shape really forgiving - skims a lot of problem areas. What doesn’t work for you?

Stoic123 · 02/09/2023 21:32

@Saurus72 - very wide hips, short waisted and busty. Any shape that nips in the waist, however forgiving size wise, emphasises the wrong bits.

The Mila, for example, is a much better style for me as more straight up and down. Most of the cord, denim and pinafore dresses look good too. I also suit a lot of the 'Handmaids Tale' dresses as my limbs and neck are long and thin.

The Bryn is just a smidge too curvy for me. Only a couple of years ago I would have kept it as not that bad - but spending a fortune on Toast (and the trying on/returns) have helped me understand a lot more about what suits me.

Countmeout · 03/09/2023 09:07

That is a lovely dress @Saurus72 . It looks really great on you. I loved it on the video too. Interesting to hear about the sizing. Ordering anything is definitely going to be a lottery.

dudsville · 03/09/2023 09:33

I agree@Saurus72 wonderful dress and great shape for you!

Laska2Meryls · 03/09/2023 10:07

@dudsville thanks for the print .. I just found it in my mailbox .. forgot to look for post in it yesterday...its great and will go in the spare room where DGCs sleep when they are here xx

Alpacasoft · 03/09/2023 10:07

The new Bryn is top of my list but now I'm confused about sizing.
I've got the Radicchio Bryn in a small and it's still roomy but in a nice way.
Aaaargh!

Laska2Meryls · 03/09/2023 10:09

@Stoic123 'Buttermilk' is the perfect description of the colour of the original The Trousers!

dudsville · 03/09/2023 10:23

That was quick @Laska2Meryls, and glad it's gone to a good home!

@Alpacasoft I have the radicchio Bryn size small, and I'm currently dithering as to whether it's slightly too roomy or not!

The website says the model is wearing an S, and I'm definitely not as small as the model, so in theory it should be right on me, but I'm just not quite sure. Plus I'm at that peri stage of life where my weight is probably only likely to go one way...

Don't know if I can be bothered to go through the hassle of reordering an XS to check, though.

Please, Toast, if you ever read these threads, put the actual garment measurements on your website!!!

PretLea · 03/09/2023 11:32

Looks lovely @Saurus72!

PretLea · 03/09/2023 11:37

I’m quite torn as to whether I should reorder the parchment trousers - seems like they’ve changed the material and I can’t understand why. I don’t have anything similar already so wouldn’t be a duplicate for me. I just think that at that price I need to be perfectly happy with it, and I’m not sure I am.

I’m really hoping the end of summer sale will be soon. Still have my eye on some of the summer dresses, and other linen bits.

ilovecherries · 03/09/2023 11:40

Keep or sell?

This Toast Mac has been hanging in my wardrobe for two years, never been worn, still has tags. It’s now obviously quite large on me but I’m wondering if I should style it out as a massive coat, or get rid? What do you all think? (Clearly not styling it out today with my joggers and slippers!)

Im looking for a link ....

Laska2Meryls · 03/09/2023 11:46

Doesn't seem to be online yet ...
