@neveradullmoment99 i got a medium and it fits well. It’s not massive, I’m a 14

Perfect. I'm a 14 too 👍

faustina · 02/09/2023 14:45

@ilovecherries - the trousers look lovely but I would also be skipping them if I had the wide legs and it was the end of summer - this year's weather has been so shit I've barely worn my summer clothes. I actually prefer them to the wide legs as they're more unusual and you're tall enough to pull them off. I'm not sure I would be sadly

I love the new shades of corduroy - woodland green, toffee and the darker green too

PretLea · 02/09/2023 15:03

Thanks @dudsville for checking colour too, are you keeping yours? I tried them on before returning and I think they look really nice on me.

MsDastardley · 02/09/2023 15:40

I received the panelled denim trousers today, and disappointed with them. After reading comments about the new sizing, I decided to order a 12 and 14. I’m usually a 12 in trousers, but I did get a couple of denim skirts in last year’s sale in 12 which are neat on the waist.

These trousers are massive. The legs are much wider than in the photos. The 14 looked like a pair of northern soul baggies! The 12 are better, but still too big in the hips. There’s room in the waist too, so I could maybe go down to a 10. The model is wearing an 8, and I don’t believe I am only one size bigger than her.

I might try the Annie and see if they are any better. I’m feeling fed up with online shopping, I’ve found the sizing random. At least Toast refund quickly.

Nearest store to me is probably Harrogate. I’m wondering if it’s worth a trip over. Can anyone recommend somewhere nice for lunch. Thanks

NoCureForLove · 02/09/2023 16:10

I bought THE trousers in the original batch but they were a bit small. Reordered this week a size up and was v disappointed. They are a different - not nearly so nice - fabric. I think that may explain all the green tinge queries. I do think if you are going to give an item exactly the same product description and price tag it ought to be the same?!
Mine are going straight back. Harumph. The original fabric was sort of papery and held the shape. These are droopy and more than a bit clownish - not in a good way!

Laska2Meryls · 02/09/2023 16:22

I think that I was fortunate enough to get the original The Trousers before they went oos and were replenished. Mine are definitely the yellow/cream and 'papery' fabric.
I really like them on you @ilovecherries and Definitely more than the cream wide legs ( although they are nice also).. And would keep id I were you ( would be great for a potential winter med trip 😉) One thing though ....is having replenished stock so late in the season.. they may be in the winter sale !

Countmeout · 02/09/2023 16:28

I think they’re probably too much the same colour @ilovecherries especially at this time of year. Although the weather is fabulous here today it hasn’t been the rest of the week and Autumn stuff is on the horizon if it continues to be cold after this little spell of good weather ( although I’m trying to not get anything too autumny out until I get back from holiday middish October - not sure if I can hold out) .

I don’t know anything about Harrogate @MsDastardley but I think it might be better to phone to see if it was in store if there is anything in particular sizes you want to try and I found not all sizes in all things were available in a store which is annoying if you make a special journey. ( that’s a very unwieldy sentence 😕)

MsDastardley · 02/09/2023 16:33

Thank you Countmeout.

ilovecherries · 02/09/2023 16:39

Thanks everyone, The Trousers are on their way back. I think nice as they were, they weren’t what I had in mind when I bought them.

Sounds like you’ve made the right decision. I’ve made a pact with myself to only buy things I love now. I went a bit over the top shopping after I lost weight and bought far too much which I haven’t worn. I’ve been lucky to recoup quite a lot on eBay, but it makes me shudder to think how much I’ve spent. I’m trying to make more considered choices, and also for the life I actually do lead.

Stoic123 · 02/09/2023 17:19

The Bryn Radicchio dress is on its way back. The colour/print is as gorgeous as I remembered from the shop but the style does not suit me. I think it would suit most people but it emphasises my child bearing hips too much, particularly when I sit down as I'm short waisted. That's the Byns off my list.

On a good note, a £35 Toast Emma dress from Vinted also arrived today - in mint condition and suits me.

Edited

@Laska2Meryls - mine are also from the oringinal batch and even squinting in sunlight, I cannot see any green. Mine are almost buttermilk in colour and a lovely texture.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/09/2023 17:31

I bought an immaculate toast blue Lydia type dress (Noelle ? ) at a bargain price from Vinted this week.

I absolutely love it and the colour really suits me, only I’m struggling with the cap sleeves. They feel as if they’re going to fall off my shoulders, I don’t know if this is because I’ve got narrow shoulders or it’s just because the scoop back is low. They don’t actually fall down just feel weird.
I really want to keep the dress, has anyone else got it and found this a problem, or will I just get used to it?

Oh that’s a shame. I love mine. I’m slimish in the hips, but not much of a waist

ScottishMouse · 02/09/2023 18:02

@Snowyowl78 ai really like the pintuck gingham top. I tried it the other day and the small was too tight across the bust, but the medium seemed a bit big - blouse when the tie was tied at the front but very a-line without it. Maybe it deserves another try though, I’m thinking I could tie it at the back to pull it in a bit without having the blousy effect.

ScottishMouse · 02/09/2023 18:09

@Stoic123 is the Emma dress the vertical striped tunic style one with buttons at the top? What is the sizing like? I often see these on Vinted & eBay and love the fabric but have never risked it because of sizing.

OftenOrange · 02/09/2023 18:14

@Dee1224 Thanks for mentioning the YBG sale, I. bought wrist warmers and the stone Kitty clogs for the price of just the wrist warmers . I’ve never tried the clogs but took a punt on being able to walk in them ( if they fit)
I don’t own any heels and love the look of these with ankle socks.

OftenOrange · 02/09/2023 18:17

I’ve also ordered those parchment trousers despite owning Annie in ecru and a nice pair of Cos barrel leg jeans in ecru..
The Kindred gift will be included, so what do I do if I return the trousers and like the gift? It seems cheeky to keep it !

Yes, it will be a perfect style for you.

Yes - that's the one. The fabric is nice - thickish but not stiff.

The sizing is generous - size down one for a relaxed but not stupidly oversized fit. I'm a 14 and I bought a 12.

The Herd wrist warmers? They are lovely - I bought the matching scarf.

Dee1224 · 02/09/2023 18:41

@OftenOrange - you are welcome - I am glad you found nice things! It was @clowniform via@AmethystMoonShine who first put me onto the YBD sale.

I spent today attempting to declutter the back room to distract myself from buying the mini pop bag as a) I have far too many bags, most of which I don’t use and b) I don’t feel I am thin enough for a very small bag 😿.

I was wondering the same thing about returns and the Kindred gift. I ordered a long sleeve tee but am worried it will be massive on the arms/shoulders and/or possibly ridiculously tight along bust. I also ordered a towel for reasons unclear!

I will have to return them if not perfect as they are not cheap, even with the 15% discount I had. Annoying, CS missed off the sweater stone I had asked to be included, as I would definitely have kept that.

dudsville · 02/09/2023 18:45

I'm not keeping them@PretLea, the mediums were really small and the large were comically big such that i could wear them low on my hips, didn't seem to be just 1 size between them. Also i eutectic the material to be thicker. They're nice but not for me.

@OftenOrange , when did you get your cos barrel leg ecru trousers? I bought some at a wonderful price a few years back but then thought the colour wasn't for me and gave them to a charity. I've been feeling sore about that this week!

OftenOrange · 02/09/2023 18:56

@Stoic123 Herd wrist warmers and I was tempted to get the scarf as well but have a collection of scarves and shawls that dwarfs the clothes …..
@dudsville I’ve had those jeans for 2 or 3 years the denim is coarse weave but soft and very comfy , Toast Anniie are a very cream shade and very thick denim. I wear
I think the Cos ecru jeans are lovely to wear with chunky Donegal and Nordic style jumpers. I tend to wear Annie more Spring/ Summer .
Ordering the popular Parchment was pure fomo ,( and wanting the Gift) and I’m pretty sure I shan’t want to keep unless they look absolutely incredible; hardly likely as I’m shaped like a tube . However I love a trouser that gives me hips and bottom so will see.
I’m returning the striped poplin skirt everyone loves on Nikki too ,my lack of shape is accentuated by the cut .
