Hi there everyone,

long time Toastie but with a name change… I would like to sell two gorgeous Toast linen dresses (swingy kind from 2020). They’ve been very well loved but my daughter has announced today that I cannot wear them anymore!! I’ll be honest, I have thought the same recently- I’ve lost quite a bit of weight and they drown me a bit.

before I put them on eBay would anyone like one or both? I don’t really need the money and I need to pass them on quickly as we are moving abroad next week!

I have two size small dresses in orange and navy. I will find the old link/picture.

DaysofHoney · 18/08/2023 21:31

It’s this dress and I have both the orange and navy blue in size small (perfectly roomy for a size 10-12 I’d say).

@DaysofHoney it's lovely of you to offer it but I'd struggle to get one arm in!! Thank you anyway!

Snowyowl78 · 19/08/2023 00:00

Can anyone share how they budget? I can’t do it coz of the sale :(

dudsville · 19/08/2023 07:56

Those ecrue trousers are saved in my wishlist and there's a note saying they're due back September 1st!

I'm curious too @snowy To know how others budget. For me, I don't have a set amount as such for shopping, but i give myself a small portion of my wage each month. For the two main sales i exorcist then to take up 2 to 4 months of that allowance each. But the last sale went massively over 😳

dudsville · 19/08/2023 08:33

Thought I'd post my wishlist. I think for once it's a pleasing collection of items.

I mean they go together as opposed to being a group of seperate things!

Oh, lovely. Potential for loads of outfits there.

@dudsville they look like a lovely collection you could mix and match.

I have the sideline shearling vest from last year but that black is so lovely @Snowyowl78 . I love the check lining. I agreed the sizing is small in them.

Awful weather back here , I know some people love Autumn but I don’t, I really like summer. Fingers crossed it comes back once schools start .

You don’t have to answer this, I’d had many wines before midnight haha

anyway, I actually can’t budget because I seem to spend about £1k+ each sale!!

Snowyowl78 · 19/08/2023 09:00

@Countmeout ooh lovely do you wear it much? It’s so small! I am a 12-14 and large is their biggest size. Bit sizeist!

Dee1224 · 19/08/2023 09:02

Hi all, thanks for the new-ish thread @ilovecherries! I am just catching up after my northern trek - back home for 36 hours and now in storm-swept Cornwall! We got here last night after driving through terrible rain and wind!

I stopped at SM - not a lot in and practically no homeware. There was a huge shoe mountain, but due to my foot problems I didn’t investigate. I bought a seat cushion - it’s nice but goes with nothing in the house - probably bought it just to justify the side trip to my OH.

There were some nice things, but nothing right for me🙃

Saurus72 · 19/08/2023 09:08

@Snowyowl78 I have a monthly amount to spend on anything once I’ve paid for/saved etc. it’s a pretty generous amount so any clothes/boots/makeup I want come out of that. My issue is that I could easily spend £500-1000 a month - not on quantity but on quality, I just love beautiful things. So I really need to focus - I have a running wish list on my phone which works well. Firstly because it helps me make sense of everything I want to buy and helps fill wardrobe gaps (in the loosest sense of the word, there are very few real gaps 🙄) and secondly when I buy something I tick it off the list so I can see just how much I’ve bought and that’s sobering.

I also keep a list of everything I buy each year, when and the cost. Again, sobering.

I buy everything using a credit card and clear the balance each month. So no debt and no shopping ‘hangovers’.

one of my issues is not being sure that I will like what’s offered in a particular season, so sometimes that means I buy more than I want to when I see lovely things. Last winter for example I bought very little because I couldn’t find anything I wanted.

MsDastardley · 19/08/2023 09:21

I’ve just bought the wide sleeve denim jacket, and like it a lot, I think it suits me. But…

the front facings are quite narrow for me, and seem to fold over whilst I’m just looking at it the mirror. I can also see the edge of the facings poking up through the collar. Is this going to drive me mad.

the button holes could be finished better, but I could sort out myself.

it doesn’t really go with many things in my wardrobe. I’m surprised, I thought it would. Looks good with my work trousers. I thought it would look nice with my new new Hush green dress, but only ok

Sooverthemill · 19/08/2023 09:45

I’ve ordered the black crinkle skirt. I’m so pleased with the two skirts I’ve bought this season I thought this might be good. But I’ve gone down to a small. IT’s elasticated so there should be some room. My striped one is a M and I kind of wish I’d got a small

@dudsville Your wish list looks lovely, posting it like that is a clever way of seeing how things work together.

@Noodle421 Have your suki trousers arrived? I’m a high street 12 but went against the advice on here and ordered the M as I currently have a big problem with anything that feels tight across my stomach. I think that size is ok for me, quite a lot of extra fabric but as it’s soft it hangs quite well. I shall have a proper try on later with other pieces from my wardrobe and make a decision then.

Countmeout · 19/08/2023 09:59

@Snowyowl78 no haven’t worn it much so far 😳 but after trying on with dresses this year it seems much more versatile than I thought so hoping to change that.
