I wish I could bathe in bum bum cream, I love the smell so much. And so does my bloody DD! She doesn’t realise I can smell it on her when she skips innocently out of the bathroom leaving her finger prints embedded in the pot. Grr.

🤣🤣🤣@ilovecherries - it does smell lovely! Have you tried their shampoo with the same smell? It’s on my wishlist.

No, (as I am bald 😂. It was always thus, it’s not a big deal, I’ve had 40 years to get used to it). But I got the body doray and it last forever, despite me spritzing it everywhere.

I’m a bit disappointed that the high neck cotton tee only comes in charcoal whereas the wool tencel tee comes in five colours. I’m allergic to any wool so I wouldn’t be able to wear those.

@dudsville - the miracle balm is coloured so you can use it as an all over tint, or blush, or lip tint etc. I can't usually be arsed to wear foundation so if this isn't just very expensive vaseline, it could be the answer to all my problems, or so Bobbi Brown assures me while I'm scrolling through Insta 😀

I've just looked at all the new things on Toast and I think I'm going to have to move some jumpers out of my wardrobe n order to have a gap or two - I love the round collar one, and also the neat wool cashmere!

Dee1224 · 31/08/2023 20:00

Hey, absolutely no need to apologise, ever. Honestly I wouldn’t know what to do with hair, it’s a conundrum to me. I’ve lived a lot longer without than with. It’s my normal and I only talk about it because it’s actually a lot more common than people realise, so I think it’s important to get it out of the closet.

Sorry @neveradullmoment99 , that is one of the things that I didn’t spot. I wasn’t looking out for it though, it may well have been there.
Thanks for the thoughts on the walnut colour @Noodle421 I tried the dress on in the shop but the lighting isn’t great in the changing rooms so I just couldn’t tell. I am happy to wear colours that aren’t my best if I love them, but sometimes I am not sure if a colour is not my best or absolutely dreadful.

ScottishMouse · 31/08/2023 20:37

@dudsville I am so taken with all the lovely comments from everyone today. And I feel guilty that I have not done the same for everyone else having a hard time lately. Life is just rubbish sometimes. I am getting much better at telling people when I am having a hard time. It seems I am now so good at it I will announce it on internet forums to complete strangers!
Although, you don’t feel like complete strangers. But on that thought, I find it impossible to keep track of who is who here. Without a face to a name, and even more so when the name is not an actual name, I am useless. I recognise all your names, but I cannot remember which of these names bought or talked about a certain item of Toast clothing, or which of you has been ill lately, or anything else you share. How do you all keep track of each other so well?

neveradullmoment99 · 31/08/2023 20:48

I remember you because of your username! It's Scottish and so am I.
I know laska2meryls and Ilovecherries from the old Hush thread. I think Soovermille was on it too. I remember Dee from the Pond dress. Toastcosiloveit because she met the lady from the Toast videos. I probably remember more but atm they are the usernames that spring to mind when I think about it.
I am actually totally hopeless with names in actual life!!

dudsville · 31/08/2023 20:53

@ScottishMouse , I struggle with names too, don't worry. I remember some posters for a time, limited to a thing that's caught my attention, and i know the names that are familiar, but someone changed names recently and i can't recall who that is and it bugs me! The Internet is weird, but this is a lovely space. This year I've had a few big things going on and it's been lovely to have a space to talk about a shared interest in textiles, fabrics, patterns, sales prices on a coveted item, etc., whilst waiting up in hospital for others and then recently for myself.

Ha ha! And I’m not actually even Scottish!

But you live in Scotland? Or did I just make that up?😂😂

ilovecherries · 31/08/2023 21:08

Once I have a face I’m much better with names. I do find myself on the FB group wondering who people are here. There are a number of people I remember from thread to thread - possibly quite a lot actually. Fingeroffudge - were you on the old Hush threads too? There is also a poster called GoneGrey who doesn’t post here so often nowadays but she recommended a book to me two years ago when I was really in despair. It wasn’t a self help book, but it was a story to survival and it lifted my spirits so much and I’ve re-read it often.

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 31/08/2023 21:09

In fact, it was so much the right book at the right time, I’ve often wondered if she is actually the author - I’m sure she’s not but it’s a nice little fantasy!

I do. For the last 20+ years. So that counts surely? Plus I am a fellow Celt, so that counts for something too.

20 years plus. Oh yes, you practically are😁Definitely counts and even more so you are a fellow Celt.

faustina · 31/08/2023 21:23

That's such a lovely story @ilovecherries - so kind of her

I have a massive problem with the people on here and the (exact same) people on the FB group - I've been told who they are (on here) mostly, but I'm terrible at remembering who's who - not that it matters I guess. This is such a calming place to come

Much love and support for you here @ScottishMouse Try on in the privacy of your own home in a space illuminated with natural light when you are able to carve out a bit of time for yourself. I go to my bathroom mirror, hold up an item of clothing to my face and can tell whether it brightens or drains my complexion. It took a bit of practise but I’m slowly becoming more confident with my colours.
