The half zip. Just why?

Recycled polyester- uncomfortable and smells weird.
puffy shoulders on tops/dresses. I look as wide as I am tall.
voluminous sleeves (see above!)
Shirred waistlines. I’m too curvy, they just rise up and settle under my boobs.

pictoosh · 17/08/2023 18:19

Thick make-up and false lashes.
Contouring.
The unitards, especially the flesh toned ones.
Shit tattoos everywhere...arms, legs, necks. Get good ones ffs!
Orange fake tan. That's been around a good while. Still going. I don't get it.
Decorated nails.

RadishAndTwiglet · 17/08/2023 18:19

Cropped tops that look like underwear. I don't care how lovely your bare midriff is, I don't want to see it unless you are on the beach, in the gym, running a marathon, or on the dance podium in a nightclub. Anywhere else is just tacky.

Men's trousers that are far too tight and far too short.

Oh, and the wedding dress trend I ABSOLUTELY HATE is that ultra deep cut, sweetheart or V neckline, slashed almost to the belly button then held together with skin toned nylon mesh stitched underneath. Especially if they are beaded or spangled. It makes the bride look like one of the cabaret dancers on a cruise ship, or a like she's in a particularly complicated swimming costume, or like she turned up in something she bought from Ann Summers for her wedding night, but forgot to put her dress on over the top. Yuk.

They are not even very flattering. That very deeply slashed cleavage makes everyone's boobs look like they are being dragged downwards, and it gives the illusion of looking thicker around the waist than you really are.

Or those wedding dresses with bodices that are made of very sheer lace around the midriff bit, so you can see all the seams and the stitching, then you can clearly see the solid bra cups underneath. It doesn't look like a dress. It looks like a bra and a skirt with the top bit missing.

Not a 'new' look exactly but loathe slides worn with white Terry towelling sports socks. Vile!

pictoosh · 17/08/2023 18:21

Men in tight deep v neck t-shirts. Yeuch!

EducatingArti · 17/08/2023 18:23

I can't do puffed sleeves as my busy is too big. I'm not really broad shouldered but the combination of bust plus puff sleeves makes me look huge. I like high waisted trousers though as otherwise they dig into my big tummy and are massively uncomfortable and give me a bad case of muffin top.

weleasewoderick23 · 17/08/2023 18:23

Floral dresses. Enough now 🙄

Mostly the "naked" leotards and cycling shorts combo in a ribbed skin colour fabric. Awful.

This, they look awful.
The eyebrow and lash trend.
Sliders

Scaredycatttt · 17/08/2023 18:25

Cropped trousers. I agree, they look like they have shrunk in the wash. They also give me flash backs to secondary school when they were called "jack ups" to take the piss out of people who had out grown their trousers.

The Tommy Shelby fade haircut on young men. My son has it. I think of it as 'the silly wee bowl'. The hair all perched up on top of the head like that.

Zipps · 17/08/2023 18:26

Oversized clothes
Leisure wear- especially the bottoms that look like what toddlers wear for easy access regarding nappy changing.
Playsuits - again toddler wear.
Dresses that belong in little house on the prairie - completely shapeless with horrible drab, patterns and way too much material, frills etc going on.
Cycling shorts
Cargo pants
Wide leg trousers (especially mid calf length)
Bootcut jeans
All the satin stuff looks nice but I'd rather pay more and have one thing in real silk.

Oh I wondered about that daft haircut - my nephew has it. He’s a lovely lad but it doesn’t flatter him.

pictoosh · 17/08/2023 18:31

My son has thick dark wavy shiny hair...it's brilliant. Not that you would know, what with the silly wee bowl.

I mean I don't say anything, he's 21 and it's his hair. I look forward to the day he grows out of it.

My friend’s son has the same. He looks like Pob.

Another vote for cropped tops/shirts/jumpers etc. And cut out or backless dresses. Not a good look for back fat!

YES
I bought a what I thought was a lovely, blue, moroccan print dress - not only is it practically see through but it has a bit cut out at the back, just where any flab will be. Why? No fucking pictures of this on the website of course. It is going back.

SingingKlingon · 17/08/2023 18:36

Those horrendous thick framed glasses that make you look like a Minion. My best mate has them. I think she looks ridiculous but everyone tells her how great there are.

Obviously I would never tell her what I think!!

Awful things.

PoshPineapple · 17/08/2023 18:36

These!

I saw a woman walking her dog in a pair yesterday, ffs (her wearing them, not the dog - although the dog might have fared better in them, she was neither particularly young and definitely not 'athletic').

Honestly, it took me right back making Christmas decorations out of crepe paper in the '70s. I felt ill.

Freyya · 17/08/2023 17:12

I am tall. I cannot wear cropped bloody trousers! They just look like they’ve shrunk!

I'm tall, I wear them, the trick is to get them the right length.

I love the 80s glasses, in fact I have just bought a pair , they really suit me and I'm delighted they're back in.

Love a half zip.

Hate nude tight leggings

They are so funny but honestly, if I had an arse like that I'd be prancing around in a pair too 😂

reelcat · 17/08/2023 18:38

Nude coloured clothes

Mullets

Fillers/botox for non medical purposes

Neck and face tatoos

SisterhoodWhatever · 17/08/2023 18:39

Flowers, frills, puffed sleeves.

They are truly horrific.

There was a recent thread about them on here that got derailed by the ‘be kind’ brigade. But come on! They are awful.

The big puffy shoulders on everything. I'm broad anyway and they make me look like a linebacker.

Tbh I'm a bit of a prop forward in the shoulder dept and find puff sleeves really flattering, kind of leaning into and making a feature of the shoulders. That's with a square neck especially
