Help me be the mum version of this model

I love this HC tracksuit. Love it.

Not bragging, just to state, I'm same build as the model, but probably a bit shorter, 5ft 6. Also, same colouring skin/hair (if that helps, I know certain colours work better, although I've never had the colours things done on me.)

However, I've just turned 40 and a mum of 3, and I think I need to accept with dignity, that my days of chin to ankle skin tight clothing with 3 inch metallic gold slogans the entire length of the leg, are behind me. Or they certainly are if I want teen DS to leave the house with me.

What's an alternative that's got this look to it, without being too young? And before anyone shouts me down, yes yes, you can of course wear what you like at any age... but moving past that, can anyone recommend a more age appropriate version?

Thanks in advance x

Lululemon or Sweaty Betty are basically this for yummy mummies! I think it's the obvious blingy branding that is the problem here.

Tara24 · 08/08/2023 23:20

It looks like a wetsuit.

Awful

AnyFucker · 08/08/2023 23:21

You like this ?? 😳

NuffSaidSam · 08/08/2023 23:27

She looks like she's in packaging, like a packet of biscuits.

continentallentil · 08/08/2023 23:29

Some fancy active wear brand I guess

Less of the gold lettering though, she looks like she’s about to be presented as a human trophy at a car rally

Changesarecomong · 08/08/2023 23:31

Be ok without the lettering
..... maybe

Formula 1 was my thoughts too.

It's awful.

I have an outfit just like this, without the gold lettering! Unfortunately, it's from M and S so won't quite have the clout you are looking for. It's still great though. I do not look like the model in any way shape or form but it's extremely flattering as sportswear goes.

Busubaba · 08/08/2023 23:46

Good grief!

You will only be able to get away with wearing that hideous outfit if you change your name to Chardonnay, move to Essex and start dating a non premier league football player.

thebloodycatwontstopmeowing · 08/08/2023 23:47

🤣

JaneJeffer · 08/08/2023 23:55

If you like it just get it and wear it!

They couldn't have styled it worse (those leggings are not flattering, I have some of those and they just aren't great)! With the matching longer leggings and in a small size, I think it looks quite nice. Not blingy or sexy, but if you have a good figure, it looks good.

That M&S outfit is a gazillion times nicer than the Holland Cooper thing.

It's not my sort of thing but I can see why it appeals to others. If I were in a situation where my own clothes were ruined and you offered me the M&S outfit I'd happily walk home in it. If offered the Holland Cooper one I certainly wouldn't want to be seen outdoors in it.

doingthebesticanover40 · 09/08/2023 00:54

honestly. be the person you want. you will look great

teaandtoastplease · 09/08/2023 00:55

I've never heard of this brand (dd1 would definitely know it but I'm out of the fashion loop) I agree with others that the gold blingy bits are the issue. Some people love it, which is fine, but personally I think big logos are just a way for some people to show off. Dd1 and her friends are all into Nike pro and under armour so maybe that would be worth having a look at

backatschool · 09/08/2023 00:58

This just looks like fancy running leggings and a running top to me.

VeridicalVagabond · 09/08/2023 00:59

There is no age appropriate version of that mess because there's no age, gender or species where it's appropriate to wear it.

It's like the middle class version of Juicy tracksuits.

Seddon · 09/08/2023 01:03

I think those pieces could work for everyday if you wore 1 of them (or something like them) at a time, balanced out with something less fitted.

So, the top with casual wide leg pants, or the leggings with an oversized chunky jumper.

I'm 52, a mum of 2.
I wear exactly this sort of thing (without gold lettering) to my running club.
Comfortable leggings and a 1/2 zip snug fitting top.

If I walked around like that people would assume I was about to do or have just done some sport.

Netaporter · 09/08/2023 02:20

@DragonDoor you are 💯 correct. It is a base layer. For equestrian wear. So generally people where we are would be wondering where the rest of your outfit is….

@ChristmasCrumpet if you are looking for inspo, do you follow the actual Jade Holland-Cooper? She’s 36 and looks like a slightly older version of the model. She is married to Mr Superdry himself. Were you looking for equestrian wear or a tracksuit similar to this?

@Busubaba even us good people of Essex understand when something is an actual tracksuit and we don’t all call our children wine-based names 😂
