Autumn wishlist.....

Ventureintheslipstream · 05/08/2023 17:35

I know some will think it's too early....but I live for autumn so this unseasonal weather brings me great joy.

I've just ordered some oxblood chelsea boots from vinted (new in box) for a steal.

Got my eye on lots in Arket and Toast already but not sure if I dare as am due a baby in October and no idea how much this pregnancy will impact my dress size... but equally desperate to have some non- maternity clothes to look forward to!

Anyone got any good wishlist ideas already?

I’d like some new boots. My Clarks boots are still going strong and this will be their third autumn/ winter but they are ankle boots and I could do with some taller boots.

iwantawisteriathisyear · 05/08/2023 18:32

I would like some navy wide leg trousers and a navy cashmere jumper. I know, exciting.

Ventureintheslipstream · 05/08/2023 18:35

I'm wondering if the shops will have autumn stock earlier due to the weather..... they certainly seem keen to offload their summer stock at the moment!

I was in h and m today and was definitely getting an autumn vibe from their non sale section.

I would like a full length puffa. My old one has died a death and I'm debating whether to invest or buy a cheaper one.
I'm thinking when I'm stood in the side of a sports field for most of the weekend it might be better to invest in something that will keep me warm and dry.

I would also like some more cashmere slouchy jumpers and cashmere socks.

lindyloo57 · 05/08/2023 18:53

I've been buying my winter wishlist in the sales, so far 2 cashmere jumpers one black one orange, from John lewis a steel at under £40 each, a hush long sleeved short dress £35 same shop, a chunky coloured wool stripe cardigan next sale half price, a long padded olive green coat £32 next sale, some black ankle leather ankle boots to pick up tomorrow john lewis sale half price, I have also ordered from m&s sale a hobbs coat, always wanted one but at £300 it's too much for me, but in m&s sale they are now half price,

Pinkitydrinkity · 05/08/2023 19:01

I love A/W outfits!!

A Strathberry bag is first on my hit list.

A couple of new plain jumpers - preferably cashmere or lambswool but I haven’t been able to find in a cut that I love.

Some chunky cardis - saw some nice ones in M&S this week.

A good camel coat, together with a new lambswool scarf to replace the one I lost earlier this year 😢

New heeled boots for smarter occasions.

A new blouse or two, maybe something silky?

Zipps · 05/08/2023 19:15

Another pair of faux leather jeans.
Long ankle length grey wool slim fit cardi.
A long sleeve top/blouse in navy (possibly velvet) with interesting cuffs if this exists.

Betsylee · 05/08/2023 19:23

I love Autumn and have been looking on line and at my winter wardrobe, feel like my style is changing too. Not particularly interested in the sales as have plenty of summer clothing and also only four to six weeks to wear it! Definitely would like some cashmere jumpers and a new winter jacket or anorak type coat.

Niftythrifter · 05/08/2023 19:24

A black and white stripe jumper. I parted ways with a stripe jumper that was around five sizes too big so need something slim fitting and short in the body in a nice fabric.

Passmeaplacard · 05/08/2023 19:33

A lovely raincoat with a hood that looks smart and not like I’m off to climb a mountain

Ventureintheslipstream · 05/08/2023 19:45

Some great ideas.

@Pinkitydrinkity which strathberry? I love the dark green ones.

@Passmeaplacard I have a Rains one which is brilliantly effective!

I've been wanting a forest green tulle or pleated skirt for a few years but have never found one. Perhaps this will be my year...

TizerorFizz · 05/08/2023 20:05

The tulle moment might be gone. Dark green pleated? Not sure.

Big look this winter is a huge scarf. More of a multi use shawl. Fitted coats (in black) and still lots of greys, fawns and camels. All in layers. So I’m going for a big scarf!

BHRK · 05/08/2023 20:06

Chelsea boots and cashmere is on my
list. Possibly a short puffa coat

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/08/2023 21:05

I'd like a short hooded jacket/coat to tide me over until the Big Coat needs to come out.

JMAngel1 · 05/08/2023 21:19

I would love a Max Mara camel wrap coat - I’m tempted to only buy that for the whole of A/W in order to justify it but I know that wouldn’t happen!!

I want some new wrap style cardigans which can be worn as tops - kind of Sezane style but not the price - would like then in a camel/cream and a soft grey (ground breaking I know 😂).

I’d also love some velvet flares maybe in a burgundy but haven’t seen any.

And then some kind of thick midi skirt with a front slit - would like to find one similar to a gorgeous denim one I’ve been wearing all summer but maybe in a wool/crepe fabric.

Not sure about boots - I hear kitten heels are back in so they could be any easy walk win / maybe in a tight sock boot ankle style - not sure yet.

I’d also like to try a different bag style as I’ve been caning the short cross body (almost bum!) bag look for what feels like years now but not sure what else to try. I find structured totes too contrived - maybe a slouchy style hobo shoulder bag in a suite might be nice for a change. Lots to think about!

JMAngel1 · 05/08/2023 21:20

Suede not suite!!

BangingOn · 05/08/2023 21:20

Autumn is my favourite season and I’m really looking forward to September. I’ve lost 2 stone since last year so definitely need some new clothes.

I would like a couple of longer bias cut skirts, silky or perhaps wool. My obsession with greens continues, emerald of forest for autumn. Not sure on footwear, I do love heeled long boots but have been living in flats for so long.

Niftythrifter · 05/08/2023 21:24

@JMAngel1 I watched a YT vid yesterday and they were showing off a ballet wrap woolly cardigan number from Primark so it M might be worth having a look on there.

JMAngel1 · 05/08/2023 21:31

Oooh good shout. Yes, ballet wrap style is exactly what I’m after. Thanks.

Have you tried Etsy? There seems to be a lot of different coloured tulle skirts on there. Hope you find something, it's awful when you have something in mind and can't find it.

SpamIAm · 05/08/2023 22:28

I'll have a look on Etsy but I never know what size I am so will have to check out the returns policies.

I do have form for desperately wanting an item of clothing that doesn't seem to actually exist...

milkydress · 05/08/2023 22:52

A big camel coloured cashmere scarf

LyndaSnellsSniff · 05/08/2023 23:44

I'd love a floaty navy midi/maxi skirt. I'd wear it with a slouchy chunky jumper.

I'm wondering whether to get some FitFlop Rally trainers. I have stoopid feet which are increasingly painful. I'm always looking for comfy shoes.

Could do with a cross body bag. Now the DCs are teens, I've finally realised no longer need a ginormous sack to cart their gubbins around.

I've already bought the following...
