An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

You'll be able to sell it for £100 via Toast ReProfit 🤣

Brilliant 😂😂

faustina · 31/07/2023 20:04

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - is that shirt cotton pique? I have last year's in navy and it's brilliant - really useful as both shirt and little jacket. That colour is beautiful and very unusual - I can see why Laska wanted to replicate it now

Love the bread/chopping board too - the wood has a beautiful grain to it

MaroonedOnADesertIsland · 31/07/2023 18:01

With photo would help!

Thanks @MaroonedOnADesertIsland They do look cute on her. I feel that since cutting all my hair off a couple of years ago (it’s buzz cut short), and looking a little bit more middle aged and all that goes with that, I have to be very careful with everything I choose to wear, even footwear. I feel I need something a little more feminine somewhere on me. Saltwaters fit that bill, and I just don’t think the Tevas work as well on me.

ScottishMouse · 31/07/2023 20:17

Have just realised that the Ola sandals I was sent are two different colours. One is definitely olive but the other is much more brown, like one has been left in the sun or something. They are now sold out, so that decides that for me. Still mulling over the Linas, but wonder if I really should be choosing something more sandal like and less shoe like, as I might just choose trainers over them on a less hot day. It’s a lot to spend if I’m not going to wear them all the time.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 31/07/2023 20:44

@faustina No, it’s the Cotton linen twill, I think it came in 2 colours.

@ScottishMouse That’s interesting, very similar to the problem I had with my Fracap Ankle shoes. Are you going to let toast know? They’ll probably tell you it’s designed to do that and it adds to the characteristics of the shoes 😁(well that’s what they told me).

ScottishMouse · 31/07/2023 21:28

Yes @Theteapotsbrokenspout , I suspect one has changed colour through being on a shop floor while the other is in the box or something. Both colours look good, but they are different to each other. It’s a bit rubbish quality control.

Brillenbar47 · 31/07/2023 21:34

I took myself on a little outing yesterday to toast in Islington with a try on list to make the next sale and the sizing issues we've all had hopefully a bit more "forward managed". Also to try on things I didn't think I would like because that has been the biggest revelation of the excesses of last sale - that actually the things I've liked the best are not where I started. So I tried on

  • the stripe skirt with matching top that has a gather at the front and the tiered dress in the same fabric. The skirt is big - I would have needed size down from what they had. The two piece together is great if you want to wear the top ungathered but a bit silly if you do gather because it balloons at the back. Unfortunate because I would have bought if it had gathering at back too. The dress is lovely and not as oversized as you might think but really not me
_ the cream shirt with red embroidery - beautiful quality, large even in xxs- sort of wide - not for the short in stature
  • stripe shirt labelled as a smock - there is no shoulder seams. This does not suit me
  • limey yellow/slate check crinkle jumpsuit - well outside my comfort zone - colour dreadful on me and odd smell
  • ludicrously expensive silk orange patchwork dress - again I would say this is old toast sizes. It is unusual and pretty but flimsy fabric and dry clean only. Felt like it would rip
  • the cotton shirt dress with the pattern that is at the top of the website. I actually bought this. It is out of comfort zone fore because it is patterned and I do have many patterned clothes even a check is a challenge for me ifore than 2 colours. Why I like it - beautiful quality, cut is trapeze shape so not too much fabric at the top to bunch up of you belt it. Lots of neutral colours in it - black navy tan - so easy to accesorize. Can wear it as a dress with or without its own belt or different belt or with say a navy jumper over or possibly as a light duster coat over jeans and a tank - am yet to try

Also found out you can swap your Moira firth prints that you have multiple copies of the same for different ones

AFingerofFudge · 31/07/2023 22:42

Thank you for the new thread, I'm a bit late to the party!
@Theteapotsbrokenspout the thorn green top is beautiful. I have it in the shell colour and would have also loved it in the green!

Nothing Toasty to report although I'm
making a brief trip to my not so local Toast store tomorrow. I have decided to take back THE trousers and wait for them to come out in the indigo colour! I can't afford both and realistically I will get much more wear out of the indigo ones.
Let's hope I resist buying anything .....

Sooverthemill · 31/07/2023 15:11

Yes indeed. Walnut!
thank you for the skirt and dress love I am very pleased with them

I love your new outfits, especially the walnut dress. Are the sleeves a bit bulky for a cardigan? The fabric looks quite stiff. I’m thinking ahead of layering for winter. I liked it as soon as it dropped but I’m not sure the colour will work on me. It looks fab on you.

😊

Are these the packets that contain two different sizes ( 4.5 l and 6 l) ?

Yes, that’s the ones I got. I have used some of the smaller ones for scarves, hats, and gloves.

Yes the smaller ones I use for cashmere scarves .

Countmeout · 01/08/2023 07:19

Love that combo @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I’m sorry I missed out on that shirt now. And that board is fantastic, it would cost a fortune in Toast.

Great outfits @Sooverthemill . That skirt is getting a lot of love.

Thanks for all the info @Brillenbar47 . It’s always so useful for those of us that are nowhere near a shop.

Saurus72 · 01/08/2023 08:43

Good morning! I am head to toe Toast today, definitely drawing from the lentil weaver school of design, and tbh I could not be happier about it! These trousers (herringbone cotton/linen) in maple were bought to wear to wfh in A/W. But of course I’m wearing them now in our shocking summer…With the boat-neck tee from the Christmas sale. And scandi-esque socks. And I really couldn’t be happier/comfier. If the trousers come back in the oatmeal colour in the next sale I’ll definitely buy them, they’re lovely.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/08/2023 09:07

I am also head to almost toe in Toast today. Wearing my navy boatneck and the fenugreek balloon trousers with novesta plimsoles in khaki colour. I had a bad sleep so am feeling absolutely shattered as I had to wake my daughter up who is going to Edinburgh with her friends birthday.

I saw the trousers came back in stock [ The ones that everyone seems to want] at 4am in the morning so I ordered the large. Debated long and hard over what size but I doubt the waist on the medium will be good on me looking at the reviews. I have hips so they may be ok.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/08/2023 09:07

Looking good @Saurus72

neveradullmoment99 · 01/08/2023 09:09

They are actually still in stock if anyone is looking for a large.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/08/2023 09:09

Cotton linen canvas trousers.

Yes the smaller ones I use for cashmere scarves .

Good idea.
I’ve started a jumper in freezer rotation. Bags, pellets, wasps and boxes at the ready. I am now a fortress against moth invasion (here’s hoping)💪
Thanks for all your tips.

ilovecherries · 01/08/2023 09:18

I wearing my Toast denim panelled trousers (I think they are better on me with more of a turn up, inspired by Laska) and a CoS poplin shirt from 2018. This is the reason I have too many clothes. I can’t bring myself to get rid.

ScottishMouse · 01/08/2023 09:31

I have been trying to make myself wear dresses every day, and apart from a couple of days last month, I have managed this for about a month now. My most worn one is the sleeveless denim one from the sale. It is so easy to throw on over any top at all.
It is so miserable, grey and drizzly here this morning though, that my dresses are not calling to me. I will be out and about a lot of the day and think an anorak is in order so I may need to forgo the dresses and opt for my old faithful indigo Alix trousers.

Laska2Meryls · 01/08/2023 09:33

Ooh looking forward to seeing them on you @neveradullmoment99
My smaller ones probably won't be here until Wednesday.. I wonder though if the L may be too big for you around the waist.. They are quite on me and I think that I am bigger than you in the waist..
@Saurus72 looking great.. I too am in top to toe Toast but its still my pyjamas!!
I will probably wear my panelled denim trousers today also .. off to see Oppenheimer later so need something comfy for the cinema.. apparently its almost 3 hours long !

FiddleFigs · 01/08/2023 09:48

I'm head to toe in Toast today too! Cotton linen tapered trousers in Breen from the recent sale (although these have shrunk slightly in length which is so disappointing), with the craft check top and novestas in ecru.

Any thoughts on the round collar pique shirt? I missed last year's (and can't seem to ever find one on ebay/vinted) but the collar on this year's version seems a bit odd in the product photos - it seems to stand up very high at the back. Has anyone tried/bought it?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/08/2023 09:54

Sounds as if everyone is doing well in wearing their toast, and I'm looking forward to seeing all the cotton canvas trouser photos.

I bought the current season Lydia v neck dress from vinted at the weekend. It's not a dress I would normally even try and I was worried about the sizing as well, but I was feeling fed up and wanted a Toast boost. And it's absolutely lovely, I'm so pleased! It's a medium and fits perfectly.

My waist has got bigger sadly. I was swithering between the 12's and the 14's but I read that someone was a 10-12 and the waist fitted perfect and I thought, that is not me!
If they are too big, will be happy to return.
