Went out in my new frock last night thought I looked rather okay.

I've lost loads of weight recently and feel like heading towards a New Normal Me.

But then scrolling through S&B I find I'm ubiquitous

I mean, the jacket could be shorter and the trainers whiter but I think you look bloody lovely!!

Not keen on the collar on the jacket either if I'm honest.

Trainers are a bit too dark for the dress, I’d go for pure white ones or canvas type plimsolls but you look fine! 😁

Wear what you want, not what others tell you you should be wearing. I have a summer dress and white trainers on. This dress doesn’t happen to be floral but easily could be. Do I care if others think it’s boring? Nope, couldn’t give a rats arse.

The dress is the Anthropoligie dress which has featured on several recent threads and may well turn into this year's "Zara dress". It's a lovely dress.

Tbh I don't think the denim jacket and trainers do the dress any favours - not because they are "dated" or "not on trend", it's just not a look I like. They detract from what is quite an elegant dress.

Surely "ubiquitous" is another way of saying "fashionable". Not cutting edge, but in line with the current norms for women of your age/class/location. You look very 2018-2023 which is presumably what you wanted.

Looks like a completely different dress here! it’s hard to gauge the length, I didn’t think it was an “it” dress from the OP due to the length. Something about the longer length makes it look bulky but the shorter length through this link looks nicer.

I am short so would either get the dress taken up, wear a belt to hoist it up, and wear it with sandals to prevent the compressed vibe

I'd go with a less bulky trainer and a shorter jacket that sits around my waist but otherwise it's fine, why don't you think it's ok? I'd guess you're 45-55ish

It is the same dress. I like the dress. I don't like the jacket or trainers. The bag is ok and probably would be fine if the jacket and trainers weren't there.

It’s all about balance. The “bulk” here does not look balanced which is why it’s the first thing posters are noticing.

Bulky clothes can look good eg an oversized shirt or cargo trousers.

Sometimes if you’re wearing 1 thing which is bulky, you need to balance it out eg loose trousers with a fitted top or less accessories
