Went out in my new frock last night thought I looked rather okay.

I've lost loads of weight recently and feel like heading towards a New Normal Me.

But then scrolling through S&B I find I'm ubiquitous

I’ve got to an age where I wear all sort of styles, colours etc that I probably shouldn’t by popular opinion for my age. I now work on the theory, that if I like something and it makes me happy and hopefully feel good, then stuff anyone else’s potential thoughts!!! Love the dress! Looks good on you. Enjoy! Head up, shoulders back and style it out!

I love a big dress and a denim jacket. Screw the naysayers & control freaks.

I totally agree. They might be fine for walking from desk to desk in the office, or from the house to the car, but hopeless for anything else. I walk everywhere, and ditched them many years ago because they are so uncomfortable.

Maxi dress or skirt/denim jacket/trainers has been a popular combo for a decade because it is comfortable, practical, and suits most people.

Fashion being what it is, anything that has been popular for this long must be deemed unfashionable. Whether you care is up to you. The same is true of skinny jeans, but loads of women still wear them.

You look fantastic and kudos fir the weight loss BUT you're doing this for yourself. From a bloke that outfit is great with a dressed down feel with huge versatility. You could easily swap out for comfy boots or other smartish footwear plus the denim is easily swapped our with a leather jacket, shawl or cardy.

@Clicheaf All ok apart from the trainers. They don’t go with the outfit, sorry.
For full transformation they need to be white & plims, pumps, trainers or high tops will do.
I’m going size 12, age 45 & Labrador.
The dress is lovely & jacket is too. I’m more of a cardigan girl but spend most of my life in either PJ’s (at home), Leggings & shirt skater dress or gym wear 🤣
