Watching the Coronation today and couldn’t help but notice that all the royals just look so well polished. Camilla looked glowing and healthy, but pictures of her from her first marriage, she looked like a fairly average lady of her age. Same with Kate. She has always had good bone structure, nice hair etc, but since she married into the Royal family she just looks great. I eat well, exercise, have a good skin care routine, drink lots of water - all the things you’d think would help but I can’t imagine ever looking as well polished as any royal. What is their secret? Is it as simple as hair and make up done for them, or am I missing something?

The toothpaste thing is 100% true. Ex RN husband used to have to do it for him when he hobbied to sea now and then.

I read somewhere that Kate does her own make up, although she looked fabulous yesterday I thought she looked a little bit tired. I think she's pretty 'normal' in terms of having people to make her look polished. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors!

Also, healthcare. I have chronic backpain. The NHS, of course, doesn't want to know. Not a slipped disc, take two ibuprofen, bye.

If I had access to daily physio/massage/whatever, I bet I'd look younger and glowier simply because I wouldn't be in chronic pain.

I suspect a lot of us are carrying a chronic health condition or two which isn't serious enough for the NHS to deal with (or, if it is, is managed suboptimally) but which is impacting on our appearance. Take that away and you'd immediately look better.

Very good point. Being in pain all the time, would definitely take a toll on a person's appearance. Again with the rf, any medical problems are dealt with swiftly, and by the best consultants etc..

They do not have to work or look after a home. They have plenty of money to pay for their own upkeep.

This is so not true. They eat the best food, meat, and vegetables grown on their own land. All organic. How is that bad? I would love to be able to eat their "bad diet".

Kate Middleton is so beautiful but it’s so hard to believe she’s only 41! I think there’s a limit to how much money/privilege can actually achieve. Genetics is clearly a much bigger factor, at least in terms of how one ages.

I hate the Tories but Penny Mordant looked better than all of them in the photo I saw
And she didn't look plastered in makeup which 'royals' often do these days

I wonder if she (Middleton) is going through early menopause. It’s hard to believe that someone with access to so much help (nutritionists, doctors, aestheticians etc.) could be ageing so badly.

What I noticed about his eye brows yesterday from certain camera angels was that they were massive and could do with a trim.

But maybe your right if he's going to be under certain lights like stage lights doing speeches.

I am not a fan, but I believe she doesn't look older than her age. She looks like a woman in her 40s.

It's hilarious and sad.

I feel like increasingly we will see how cheap diet, non existent dentistry, reduced NHS services for anything unsightly but cosmetic, and stress, will segregate us into "she looks poor" and "she must have money".

But both her parents have aged really well.

I think Kate’s problems are being so thin, and her preference for overly heavy eye make up. Both make her look older. She looks stylish but older than her actual age, except when she is dressed down, with less make up, to do something sporty.

By normal standards, perhaps (though she looks older than all the early-40s people I know IRL), but by celebrity standards she really doesn’t. She’s stunning though, so this isn’t a dig! Just an observation - money can only do so much. Genetics, and maybe hormones, clearly play a bigger role.

I actually think Samantha Cameron looks more polished than anyone in the royal family. She looks amazingly young for her age and a mum of 4. She wore a dress from her own company, Cefinn which was under £400 but looked lovely.

Samantha Cameron is not a commoner either!

Having your hair and make up done professionally and all your clothes tailored makes a huge difference. Kate always looks very polished, but actually what struck me about all the royal women yesterday was that none of them look like they've had any 'work' done, or if they have it's incredibly subtle. With celebs, you know they're full of Botox and fillers and their faces have that stretched, shiny look to them, but the royal women all look very normal and natural.

Maybe at a push 49 but she's only 41. Facially she looks like someone in their 50s. The bags under her eyes are crepey, the nasolabial fold are deep. Her overall skin laxity is far older looking than someone 41. And she has all sorts of treatments and tweakments so to have such lax skin is very unexpected.
When she smiles she look better as we all do but when her face is in repose she looks very old for her years

They spray them down with formaldehyde as they walk through the palace gates. Just like the verruca foot bath before swimming pools in the 90s.

Weird, I didn't notice all those things. I need to have a closer look at her face againn.

I thought she looked older a few years ago, but then rectified it by having work done.
