I LOVE a dipped hem!

Do I need to say *light-hearted? 🤣

In absolute fairness, waking up in the morning gives people on mumsnet thrush. As well as wearing underwear, going commando, eating meat, being vegetarian, showering, bathing, not washing enough, using bath products, washing with only water, wearing tights, wearing bare legs, having sex, peeing, holding your pee, using public bathrooms, refusing to use public bathrooms, drinking too much water, not drinking enough, and seeing a member of the opposite sex across the road.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

A floral midi. I was wearing them years before it was a thing and I'll be wearing them years after.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 29/04/2023 13:52

True @Kanaloa 😂

Fizbosshoes · 29/04/2023 14:13

I don't think I'm stylish and haven't heard of half the acceptable brands on here.
I dont like the fact that people sneer at cheap clothes/primark and talk about "fast fashion" as if everyone who goes in, buys a top, wears it twice and throws it away! I haven't noticed any of my primark stuff wear out any quicker than (admittedly only slightly) more expensive brands.

I had one pair of primark cropped joggers (they surely must be a MN no no anyway!🤣) for at least 10 years!

Half the stuff/decor in my house is on the frowned upon list as well

That's brilliant.

I can't remember any time in my adult life that midi floral summer dresses didn't feature. And ballet pumps.

I particularly like the "ballet pumps are sooo dated" proclamations. It doesn't matter in which year it's made it usually takes 2 seconds to find an article from Vogue or other fashion writers with advice on "the best ballet pumps this season"

Londontomadrid · 29/04/2023 14:41

Quite like floral midis and trainers. Also don't mind a bit off frill and a puff sleeve. Also don't mind tiered dresses!

Not fashion but lifestyle - non leather shoes

M&S clothes

Viscose ( I like natural fabrics but I'm never going to iron linen)

Kiplng handbags (I'll just get my coat now ) Grin

Kipling bags need burning. Awful.
Anything Boden too

Hotvimto3 · 29/04/2023 14:45

RampantIvy · 28/04/2023 23:23

They are like walking on cushions aren't they.

Saved my life during pregnancy and I've always had a pair since

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 29/04/2023 14:47

I wear dresses over jeans.

I’m comfy. It’s practical for work. And no one can see my stomach. It’s a win/win.

Back21970 · 29/04/2023 14:55

I didn’t realise dip hems were ‘uncool’ - I love them.

Have never got the attraction to linen, crisp white shirts and blazers myself.

Fairislefandango · 29/04/2023 14:59

Cardigans
Breton tops
Knee-length boots

moggerhanger · 29/04/2023 15:03

Tunics over skinny jeans or leggings! And Fly boots.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 29/04/2023 15:31

Because they scream 'old woman with crepey skin and bingo wings who thinks showing off her shoulders is somehow attractive

@pfftt fuck off with your unpleasant ageist shit .

JaneJeffer · 29/04/2023 15:34

And then fuck off some more @pfftt

But I need pockets, a key fob, zipped compartments , a bag I'm not precious with , washable and most important for me : not leather .

I have a Roka slingbag as my most recent but that was the only style I liked .

I won't be burning the Kipling bags anytime soon.

And cute story - when my DS was about 4yo , he was out with my Dad and saw a Monkey keyring in a Charity shop that he insisted on buying for me because he knew they were on my bag (My Dad wouldn't have had a clue )
DS is 23 now , doesn't do these sweet gestures any more

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 29/04/2023 15:43

I wear by blue denim jacket with my blue denim jeans and I look fucking awesome.

RampantIvy · 29/04/2023 15:43

TheMildManneredMilitant · 29/04/2023 07:56

Tights. Apparently they give everyone else thrush.

I also have an iron and use it.

So do I. I bought a linen shirt yesterday. I don't iron a lot, but it is a job I quite enjoy. I watch TV while ironing the few clothes I have that would look awful if I didn't iron them.

Zipps · 29/04/2023 15:43

UGG boots
Faux leather jeggings - live in them from autumn until spring
Animal print - carefully done
Skinny jeans
Shorts
Denim jacket

Me too , though DD eyerolls and mutters about Status Quo /Shakin' Stevens .

I try to have non-matching denim if I do (but I'm sure I look fabulous)

EwwSprouts · 29/04/2023 15:53

High waisted jeans (hold everything in)
3/4 sleeve (short arms)
cropped trousers (short legs so they reach my footwear)
bright deep pink
Not sorry!

CybermanAshad · 29/04/2023 15:57

thenightsky · 28/04/2023 19:57

Cold shoulder tops. They show off the lovely toned, tanned, non-crepey part of my arm, yet hide the saggy bingo wings at the same time. What's not to love about that eh?

Yes! A cold shoulder is my favourite :)

DistantSkye · 29/04/2023 16:22

Mom jeans/balloon jeans
White/light coloured trainers
Viscose, which I can wear without dissolving into a puddle of my own sweat unlike so many of the comments I read here!
Leopard print
Oversized tiered/shirt dresses (again so many of the comments about "I'm an hourglass/have big boobs and simply HAVE to wear something fitted" make me laugh)

Lampzade · 29/04/2023 16:23

hadtoomuchsleep · 28/04/2023 19:49

Hoop earrings. And yeah, I mean big, gold hoops! Not little 'classic' ones 😂

Me too
The bigger the better. Don’t care if they look chavvy
