Poor Sophie. I actually like the lilac socks! Speaking as one who was last pregnant 28 years ago yet still has a Mum tum, let's just say that past 50 it's hard not to put on weight. Especially if you're not on a restrictive diet, don't have a punishing exercise regime nor the gene for eternal slimness.

No-one told me at meno. My boobs would grow, my waistline grow. My mum who never exceeded 8 stone was beside herself when it happened.

Me shopping for bridal gowns with DIL called into bravissimo for suitable bridal lingerie for her. I thought while I'm here. Walked away with perfect fitting bras in a completely different size.

I wish I could put my sunnies on top of my head like that. I always associate it with posh people for some reason.
But then I rarely wear the things as I can't see where I'm going with them on so prefer to squint instead. And I don't think you can wear your sunnies like that with a fringe anyway! 😎

Some photos from Alexandra of Luxembourg's wedding today. I don't think her dress is Elie Saab and I'm not sure I like it, though the photos aren't the best. Can't get a good look at her tiara either.

As for GDMT - I guess what's what happens when you put fertiliser in the shoulder of your gown the night before! Actually it might not be a gown - is it a jumpsuit??

That wedding dress doesn't look like it fits very well, it's a bit gape-y under the arms. Could be the angle of the photo though.

Apparently the wedding dress is Elie Saab, as is GDMT's jumpsuit. Not sure Saab served Alexandra as well as it did Stephanie and Claire. Their dresses were gorgeous.

Another Sophie number from last week that doesn’t quite fit. I wonder if there’s an increase in the clothing budget coming with the new role and she’s working with new people.

The tiara is lovely as is the lily of the valley bouquet. I really like the delicate veil, less keen on the dress. I did see some photos from the side, where it might be that the pleats are strategically positioned…

I think Alexandra might have fallen in love with the runway version of the Elie Saab dress maybe, but it just didn’t work as well when the cutout was filled in, the slit removed and the off the shoulder neckline raised?

The Princes Trust event was held in New York, CliffsofMohair, so no BRF members there.

She looks so pretty, and the tiara and veil are lovely. The dress would be ok without the strange twisty bit.

To me she looks radiant. However, I think that's an awful dress and I hate to see a tiara perched on flat hair like that.

Stephanie looks nice, and lovely to see our little thread mascot. Claire looks like she's about to take the starring role in a production of Carmen!

I really like the gold catwalk version of the dress, but I'm not keen on Alexandra's dress, it looks too baggy on the bodice and around the hips, and altering the position of the shoulders hasn't really worked well.
But she does look radiantly happy, which is the main thing!
My Mother had a bouquet of lily of the valley exactly like that for her wedding.

Sophie looks very small there and I never thought of her as particularly short. Maybe those men are 7ft tall.
