@BluebellBlueballs the Next boxes are amazing, thanks for sharing. I am really struggling to restrain myself 😂

Oh wow. I’ve had my first LiB box - amazing to get 6 products I actually want when some Glossy and LF boxes haven’t a single thing I’ll use.

Also got the Hearst Red beauty box (it’s been a great day for packages as I also received my Hotel Chocolat Easter egg today!) and OMG it’s awesome, so thrilled with it, well worth going overdrawn for.

Think I've started a trend with the Next boxes. They are ridiculously good value.... wonder how they make a profit? Or are the manufacturers selling at a loss to get people to buy the full sizes after trying samples?

I didn't see your post when I posted but yes! Ridiculous value!

Hello, is it okay to join?

I love beauty products and I used to get monthly box subscriptions, LF and Glossybox however stopped them a few years ago as felt they weren't great for the money.

I'm 29 and looking for a new beauty box especially as I'm due my first baby in May, feel like this would be a nice treat to look forward to each month.

If anyone could recommend one, I'd be really grateful. I love bath products, make up, candles etc.

I get Glossy and LF boxes, but have just joined Latest in Beauty, where you get to choose the 6 products you want. As I said above, the Glossy and LF ones sometimes contain NOTHING I’m ever likely to use.

Ooh! So glad to have found this thread! I have been promising myself for ages that I will (a) start looking after my poor neglected skin properly; and (b) will actually use up the several cupboards worth of beauty products I have before buying any more!
The ridiculous thing is that I am so low maintenance (for which read: CBA) that no one would ever suspect I’m a secret skin care and beauty addict!

Oooo love this thread, what are the rules? Do we count our items and refrain from purchases until we use what we have stored? I've so much to get through and although I've not been wearing make-up I've been secretly adding to my box the last 2 weeks. Our local chemist is closing and they're selling Malvala products and Rimmel products for a £1 per product, any product 🥰
I bought another 3 nail polish today and an eyeliner 🤣

I think technically that may be the rule but if you read through, you will see that we all have (many) moments of weakness😁

@elm26 I like liberty (there's a thread too) where you pay £20 each month which is banked to spend on whatever you want! Few people save it for the advent calendar. On top of the banked money you also get a free box every 3 months. The beauty drop also includes free delivery, discounts on beauty boxes and early access.

I agree. I've never actually had any other beauty box subscription, I've always fancied one but was never convinced that it'd be good value for money. The Liberty beauty drop solves that problem because you get to spend your money and the beauty box is free. So as long as you're happy to spend the money at Liberty it's a great deal.

Yes, I’m tempted by the Liberty subscription, it sounds almost too good to be true! How much is their advent calendar?

Report

CinnamonCoffee · 22/03/2023 17:13

I think the calendar is about £250. Also the next box is due mid April

Report

CinnamonCoffee · 22/03/2023 17:16

Actually Google says it was £245 but they did do a £10 discount for beauty drop members so it would of been £235

Car insurance due in April so I’ll have to miss the April drop, but May should be fine. Thanks!

CinnamonCoffee · 22/03/2023 17:41

@MavisMcMinty don't forget the boxes are every 3 months so after April it will be July. Some people who have signed up get the previous box though.

Welcome @elm26, @MotherOfPuffling and
@WoofWoofBeachLife!! And any other newbies I have missed!

The thread has no rules... we are beauty product addicts and for some of us this thread helps us curb our addiction...
for others it fuels it 🙈 however, speaking personally, since joining this thread 7/8 years ago I have become more mindful about what I buy and how I use it up. There is a huge collective knowledge here - many of my go-to HG items have been borne from recommendations on this thread.

Most of us report our empties/chucks. But seriously whatever works for you.

I used up a Superdrug Vitamin E sheet mask yesterday, which I got as part of the Superdrug Presents goodie bag - I had forgotten how much I love the scent. May do a routine with this brand once current stocks are depleted.

(it was £69 when I bought it, plus P&P - it’s £86 +P&P now, but still imo amazing value, there’s a £110 and a £98 moisturiser just to start with, and a year’s digital subscription to Red magazine.)

And I succumbed in the early hours to the Liberty beauty drop, despite the April bills due. It seems too good to be true! You don’t actually lose any money, it’s like a beauty bank account, I don’t know how they do it.

I love a soft, blendy, chonky pencil, like the Nabla Stylos and the old Clinique Chubby Sticks. (Mine are all RIP.) They have to be so soft that I can squidge them in an uncoordinated manner through my waterline, mush them into the roots of my lashes and blend them with a qtip, brush or finger (for slatternly pub/opiate look). They have to have enough time for me to shove them into some semblance of place (on wrinkly lids) and then set like they are intended to fortify the Athenaeum. Aside from that, I’m not too fussy any recommendations?

Oooh I need this thread! Lots to use up.

Dumb question - can anyone provide a link to purchase the LiB radiant beauty edit? I can find the blog and the collections page but I can't find how to purchase this edit? Is it not possible? Do I have to search out the individual items? I especially want that revolution eyeshadow palette
