Trainers again - what's cool?

I have white canvas supergas as a go to, plus multicoloured flyknit Nike for day wear. I'm looking for something stylish and more white/plain to wear with flares or pastel clothes. I just don't know what's trendy anymore. Any tips?

I have both - the 327 feel more structured/solid. I've got dark coloured ones and I've been wearing them over the winter. I've got paler 237's which feel lighter in weight as well (not that the 327's feel heavy) so I'll be getting those out when it gets warmer! They are both really comfortable and great for city breaks etc with lots of walking.

@Fluffywabbits I also have both. Both are very comfortable, the 327s I could wear exercising & have more ankle support. They are better in rain due to the grips. The 237s are like walking on air though & are lighter. You need both!

I have the 327s in brighter, mixed colour ways. My 237s are neutral.

I find Superga are really wide. All of them, not one particular type.

So you want something with a bit of a sole on it @LostidentityM, then these are right up your alley, for wearing with flared jeans or trousers. They aren't suede. There are these, but the sole isn't as thick.

Fitflops also do a range of trainers with arch support & memory foam insoles. I couldn't tell you if they are trendy or not but they are comfy. I've got a pair of their black leather high tops and I can walk miles in them.

I go for 'proper' walks at least twice a week. I have all the gear and will be out there in waterproof hiking shoes, coat etc. I walk through the woods in winter and end up doubling the weight of my shoes due to the mud that sticks to them. I will also have mud splashes all up my legs.

Every single time I go out, I will see someone wearing box fresh white trainers far enough from the road that I know they've walked at least half a mile and haven't just got out of the car.

As for the OP, just go to a trainer shop and buy the trainers that you like, are comfortable and can afford? After all, what's 'in' today, isn't necessarily going to be the height of cool in a few months time and surely you're not shallow and fickle enough to base what you wear based on what other people are wearing?

DS 16 has the Dunk low panda, he'd be morto at his 50 year old mam stepping out in the same.

Yes, I'm was gutted tbh. Thought they'd be my forever trainer. Now I wear them to walk the dogs and will never buy another pair 😅

These are the New Balance 574 + platforms. Look great with flared jeans, give you added height and are super comfortable.

I’ve just ordered the 327s. I didn’t like them initially and they really are everywhere, but they’ve grown on me. I think they’re really flattering. I was torn between the 530s and 550s but decided the 327s would look better on me. I also have ozweegos, air max and vejas…

I personally have a decent (& varied) trainer selection so I have some that go with everything and some that I can match to certain styles. I have Nike AF1 / hi-top Blazers / air max 270/ Air Max 90s/ Air Max 95s, Adidas Stan Smiths in 3 different colours & some old school reebok classics

I’ve always loved trainers and have pretty much given up all my heels so have trainers to go with outfits now!

I've been looking for 'spring' trainers. I have worn black 327's for the entire winter and I really don't think I can beat them, they are pretty much the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I think I'm just going to get them again in a stone colour. I have never bought 2 pairs of the same trainers!

Sold out everywhere in a 6.5 😪 I've ordered a 7 but I'm sure they'll be too big.
