Kate looks absolutely stunning, wow! Beautiful outfit (I always love that tone of red) and she looks the epitome of elegance with her chignon and hat.

I was struck by Kaye’s outfit today - a lovely coat, an interesting hat, a bejewelled brooch AND gloves with a visible design feature! Let’s hope she remembers that she likes these kind of accessories….

I agree Kate looks very chic and put together in the red coat. I also like her hair up, especially when wearing a hat.

Kate's brooch is a replica of HMQ's Welsh Guards Leek Brooch, which was given to her in 1960. The brooch was/is modelled after the cap badge of the Welsh Guards. Camilla and Diana have also had/worn replicas.

(I know that Camilla is HMQ now and I'm totally okay with that - I'm sure she'll be ever so glad to hear she has my blessing - but on this thread HMQ has always been the late Queen and I'm going to continue that for a bit longer. Camilla is The Queen, Queen Camilla, QC, Camilla or just Cams if we're being chummy!)

It's really cold in Wales today glad she's wrapped up. We went out for St David's day lunch today. Parked the car and walked to the restaurant. My feet are still frozen three hours later. The lamb cawl was worth it though

My DS has been invited to a very special event that may have a royal or two attending. It's on a Saturday though in term time. When we had a royal visit at work. There was much ado by security teams well ahead of the event.

The cut of the coat is too long imo

@TangledWebOfDeception I agree, HMQ will always be Liz II to me. Camilla will always be Cams!

Kate looks good, and it is interesting to see how her style has evolved to become a more polished and sophisticated version of herself over the years. I think she’s having a good run in style terms at the moment.

Haven’t been commenting on the thread, but I’m very much like EBG’s looks in India too! That coat she wore, the printed one, was really lovely.

She is QEII to me now. I still automatically think of her when I hear “The Queen” though (and Charles when the POW is mentioned).

Mary has some gorgeous Etro pieces in her wardrobe. I have sometimes gone and looked at the selection in Selfridges, longingly. Only window shopping though, they are very pricey!

Oh @Serenster I think I like that better. Don't know why that hadn't occurred to me, as I do like to move with the times. I'll use that from now.

I would love to see Camilla and Kate and Sophie really doing a good rummage through the jewellery collection and getting out some of the whoppers that haven't been seen for years. IIRC quite a bit of the Greville collection hasn't been seen in public since it was left to the QM.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit have arrived in London for a reception this evening. Apparently they will be meeting Kate and William tomorrow so hopefully some more new(ish) outfits.

Not sure if this is the same dress that Kate has in green but looks very similar.

I like the VW dress on Sofia, it’s a bit less shiny in a more muted colour. I admit to a soft spot for her style though, she always looks good.
Kate also looks good today, but I agree the cut is a little overlong. Looking at the 2 photos of red and black coats I think I prefer the first one, a bit less sophisticated maybe but there you go.

No a much smaller event. Which is lovely for DIL who will have her camera ready. But who knows it's a need to know event. It may clash with something else. There's so few working royals at the moment sigh....

Interesting, Leti's had it shortened which spoils the lines imo
