😆😆 Well I wouldn’t say no to a few more pieces to add to my collection!!
Nah if course it’s not anything any of you have done/said!
I’m very angry with MNHQ.
Not happy with their drive to ‘sex up’ the site - not happy for new mothers to be aggressively targeted with sex toy ads. Not happy with the collab with Ann Summers.
Not happy that MN are going to keep a 7-day registration for new members to post in the sex topic (inviting all sorts of weirdos and creeps in to colonise a topic that might at one point have at least potentially been a place where women could go for advice without having to deal with the aforementioned weirdos and trolls).
I’m incensed that above and beyond that, they’re now hosting a sex chat without any age verification and have been horribly blasé about safeguarding in that regard - and surprise surprise already having to delete descriptions of and references to illegal and immoral acts which I won’t go into (at users behest, I add, rather than an automatic moderating decision, which is even more appalling!).
Justine replied to a safeguarding and CSA expert’s very well thought out questions and comments about the sex topic and recent developments with a glib message basically saying no matter the overwhelmingly negative response they’ve had from users of that topic and users of the general board, they’re proceeding anyway; nothing to see here, no problems, and an insultingly stupid attempt at fobbing off. Absolutely unacceptable for a parenting site and a space that has historically been built for and primarily used by women.
I am incensed. So I’m not staying here to swim in that kind of sewage and contribute to their new brand and the direction they clearly want MN to take in future.
Sorry to bring such serious things into this light and happy topic. But I couldn't just go without saying goodbye! I’ve really valued this lovely thread over the years and especially since I came back around the time of HMQ’s death.
