What have you wasted money on recently?

I had my very pale eyebrows shaped and dyed but it wore off after a few days and the wax caused ingrown hairs. I'll stick to dying and shaping them myself.

I also had my eyelashes dyed and permed (up, not curled over iyswim) I liked the dye and will have that done again but the perm was just completely pointless. 🤣

What have you splashed out on recently and afterwards wondered why?

They're really hooded, I always wish for more life space! I was trying to get a decent eyelash pic so look a bit cross eyed

Sam mcknight volume spray. Awful. Made hair claggy. Oribe volume shampoo and conditioner Ditto. Was a treat to myself. Thatll teach me

You need to give lash serums three months. I went through this last year. Spent £35 on uklash serum. Would have stopped using as I saw no difference after a month. Stuck with it and ended up with monster lashes after three months.

Ah, I'm only just over a month in. I'll persevere with it, at least until the tube runs out.

I'm now undecided whether to keep going until I've used all my The Ordinary serum and then buy some UKLash, or whether to cut my losses and get some now (throws good money after bad).

A new cabin bag that I converted when I saw my friends smart bag.
I have a specialist Eurotravel rucksack that is utterly fabulous and still looks like new but wanted something more grown up

New one will only fit under the plane seat if you keep it the exact same shape. My rucksack will mould itself underneath .
New one has internal pockets that eat into packing space and mean you have to rummage through all your stuff to extract things from pockets.
My rucksack has outside pockets so you can sort things and just open the right section.

Luckily I bought it as a cosmetically imperfect version for nearly half the price. Still £27 I could have spent on cocktails on holiday instead though.

@Arrrrrrragghhh I coveted that bag at Christmas and didn't get it. Sounds like I was lucky. I got a new one in the Tripp sale instead.

Buoyed up by one of the S&B threads I bought a mascara from Essence at Wilkos. What a pile of crap. Thick, clumpy and I had panda eyes within five minutes. Straight in the bin. Only consolation is that it was only £3.50.

I recently bought the most beautiful pure wool chunky cardi on Vinted. More than I would normally spend but it was such a beaut I wanted to go for it.

Tried it on for approx 30 seconds and my eczema flared up so badly I took it off and haven’t touched it since 😩

Hoping I can reflog it and get at least some of my money back, feels like such a colossal waste with it just sitting there!! 🤦‍♀️

I bought a tube of The Ordinary eyelash and eyebrow serum. I expected my lashes to be long and thick by now but they don't look any bloody different. Thank goodness it was only a tenner.

I bought UKLASH eyebrow and eyelash serum, now THAT was a waste of money (think I paid £45?!) and my lashes and brows look no different despite using religiously since the start of December 😠

I been using Nk1 for a year, it really does work, but when I take my makeup off at night, I notice my eye lids look a dark pink colour, I think once I have finished this tube which I've only just started this January I won't be replacing.

@SlayB they're tattooed but I shape the hairs myself and then just use a tinted brow gel brushed through

I agree completely. I thought it was just me. It was ok, but not at that price. Most definitely not worth the money

Hourglass supposedly amazing powders. Utter shit. Dim light, ambient light....bollocks. I either look like Metal Mickey or a beige, cheap velvet 70s lampshade. Specific I know but it's vile! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well that's saved me a load of money. I was going to treat myself to these. Perhaps not.

very natural and arched beautifully. My peri menopausal brows are crap. Suggestions anyone ?

Fleece leggings from Lands End. Wore them for an hour and had to rip them off and throw in the charity bag. So uncomfortable and the legs kept riding up so my ankles were freezing.

Foundation bought online, completely the wrong shade.

I think we need to persevere from what other posters have said. Someone mentioned 3 months, so I'm going to plough on with mine.

Same here. I thought it wasn't working but after 2.5 months, I've noticed a difference.

Those lash serums do take ages to work (if they are going to). You need to go through a full lifecycle of the lashes, which can take up to 4 months.
