OK, I'm going to say that as much as I love jewels - and goodness knows I have an enviable tiara-collection - for me a jewel bouquet is a step too far. Fresh real flowers look nicer imo, with the jewels reserved for wearing.

Oh I do agree on a personal level. The gold is also too yellow for me...but it’s still fun to look at and whilst I wouldn’t carry a jewel bouquet myself, I can appreciate that it’s valued and considered beautiful in their culture. The 😍😍 was for the jewels, not necessarily the bouquet!

Also, the wedding was a year ago, which I didn't realise.

The guy in the jewelled bouquet pic is her father?!! Very young looking dad. So is the groom the man holding the grey cat? They are two different people in those two pictures.

The Sultan is 75! The other man in the pictures is her brother.

Because of this thread I went down a Brunei Internet rabbit hole.
According to Wiki the Sultan's first wife is his paternal first cousin. I'm not sure if she is the mother of the bride but I don't think so. The Sultan has had two other wives.
Because of this thread too I learnt where Brunei is and that it shares the island of Borneo with other nations - usually a recipe for disaster sadly, with fighting for territorial gain but apparently not so in this case, thankfully.

That's right, @LadyEloise1 - we used to go to Sabah and Sarawak and North Kalimantan, no problems. There's rainforest and beautiful beaches, and they're such interesting places to visit.

The bride is the daughter of his second wife, who used to be a flight attendant on Royal Brunei Airlines! They were divorced a few years ago now, but had children together.

Can Brunei have multiple wives, some choosing not to divorce so she is the alpha wife?

I'm totally confused!! Maybe we're all looking at different photos. The guy in the inst photos is the dad, can't see a brother, and the wedding was a few days ago. There's a jewelled bouquet there too. And a 750k watch.

The confusion is understandable if you look at both sets of pictures!
Both absolutely amazing weddings, but I saw a site where they had confused the princesses.

Both Fadzillah and Azemeh are stunning. With nice jewels.

They are both beautiful and had similar weddings, looks like with the same jewellery.
Both weddings lasted a week - that's quite a wardrobe challenge!
