Lovely photos of Josephine and Vincent, and yes the resemblance to Princess Margareta is amazing. We probably all have family throwbacks like that, it’s just more obvious in Royal families because they are so much more photographed in past generations.

KillingMeDeftly · 08/01/2023 17:44

It appears Charlene was the spendiest royal last year. Second was Olympia of Greece, though she's not really royal, and then Kate.

Stephanie of Luxembourg was one of the thriftiest but that's no surprise. I think she genuinely doesn't care about clothes/fashion.

LadyEloise1 · 08/01/2023 18:20

I think the photo of Sarah Chatto as a young girl and of Princess Charlotte is uncannily alike.
Sorry I can't do links.

Could I politely ask, as a lurker and avid follower, if anyone has Sophie's aquamarine tiara bagged? I love the stone and the swirls.

Maireas · 08/01/2023 19:07

Evening, @tealgate, I'm just opening the Spreadsheet of Splendour....

Yes Stephanie is often in brands like Boden and Hobbs, which is pretty frugal by royal standards.

I've been down a Princess Marina rabbit hole this evening and attach some photos of her with her sisters Olga and Elizabeth. I must say they are a beautiful and glamorous trio. I love the photo of Marina and Olga in older age absolutely brimming with jewels!

Had a quick look and couldn't see this already posted - but I think Zara looks lovely here - colour suits her and the deeper v and belted waist and sleeve silhouette work well. She definitely doesn't look trussed up here!

Z&M look great! Not keen on Z's puffy sleeves, but she looks fab.

Serenster · 08/01/2023 21:08

Gorgeous dress and colour on Zara!

They are a glamorous trio! Olga was the grandmother of the actress Catherine Oxenburg. Who I think played Diana in an 80s tv drama!

Eaumyword · 08/01/2023 21:15

Wasn't she in Dynasty in the '80's? Very blonde, beautiful and glam?

Serenster · 08/01/2023 21:21

She played Amanda Carrington, the secret daughter of Blake and Alexis, who’d been sent off to boarding school in the UK, then came back all grown up and married Prince Michael of Moldovia (the dishy Robin Hood of Robin of Sherwood) but Modovian dissidents attacked their wedding and sprayed the congregation with machine gun bullets. Luckily they were terrible shots and only minor characters died. 😏

(Why yes, I was a big Dynasty fan as a child…🤣)

KillingMeDeftly · 08/01/2023 21:24

@Serenster I was too young for the original but I enjoyed the recent reboot!

KillingMeDeftly · 08/01/2023 21:27

Catherine O hasn't enjoyed such good fortune in recent years. She's written a book about how she rescue her daughter from a cult!

frugalkitty · 09/01/2023 18:05

I loved Dynasty (we weren't a Dallas household). My Dad used to call it 'Dynarod'

Eaumyword · 09/01/2023 18:15

Teenage me loved Dallas AND Dynasty - all the drama and glamour! Particularly liked Catherine O, Emma Samms and Victoria Principal (had her book to help you look like her. Spoiler: if didn't)

Really fancied Robin of Sherwood and the one who was Emma Samm's husband!

Vitriolinsanity · 09/01/2023 19:14

I had to give up Guides because Dallas was on TV the same night. Bloody would have loved to have lived at South Fork.

Dynasty, apart from Dame Joan, Krystal and Dex Dexter was a poor relation.

Queen Rania has been visiting a womens agricultural co-operative. A traditional style dress, no clear pictures of it unfortunately. I like the embroidery colours and stand up collar. Not keen on King Abdullah's jerkin/gillet/body warmer thing!

HaroldsHoodie · 10/01/2023 14:40

Oh I like it. The colours are lovely.

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/01/2023 14:41

Oh oops I keep forgetting to switch away from my '50 shades of Neigh' namechange. It's me...

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/01/2023 14:53

(I honestly won't ever be able to look at the word 'mounted' the same way again...)

But apologies, I've brought up the circus once more!

It's such a shame, really. Didn't the S&B threads start off during the wedding? I remember watching it with my daughter; it was such a beautiful day and it really felt like the sun was smiling down on them. I was so happy for him/them both (although I can't deny I had some low-level misgivings due to immense culture clash - as an 'outsider' here I've had over 20 years of getting to know/understand the culture relating to the Monarchy - but I genuinely did wish them both the very best and hoped that it would work out well).

TangledWebOfDeception · 10/01/2023 15:45

Ohhh I loved both Dallas and Dynasty.

King Abdullah looks a bit like he's channeling International War Correspondent here.

Anyone else having problems accessing NMR at the moment or is it just me? We really need a good dose of royal fashion.
