This was Charles' first cousin so you'd think he would've at least sent William or Edward to represent him.

Maximilian of Baden's son Bernhard attended Prince Philip's funeral, along with two other members of Philip's German family.

It's a shame that no-one went to the Margrave's funeral.

It's Constantine of Greece's funeral next week and though the British will be well represented with W&K, Anne, Princess Alexandra and the Wessexes all in attendance, it's odd Charles isn't going himself. Pretty much every other crowned head in Europe will be there.

He's not on the guest list for Constantine's funeral either and they were first cousins. I guess he's the black sheep of the Euro royals! Not sure why Caroline hasn't divorced him. Surely it can't really be because she doesn't want to revert from a Royal Highness to a Serene one?

Ernst August of Hanover is listed as one of the guests in the Instagram post though. Obviously not on the same group as Caroline.

That was his son, Caroline's stepson. He attended with his wife but Ernst Sr wasn't there.

Aren't there two Ernst Augusts? Caroline's husband and his son?

I see that the Greek government have relaxed their attitude re the funeral of Constantine tomorrow, and are allowing a small procession now.

I think that it's a pretty poor show that Charlie isn't attending himself.
This was his chance to put himself as British Monarch aligned other European crowned heads, but he has sent substitutes instead.

If Princess Alexandra can go all the way to Greece at her age then surely Charles can?

Yes, Constantine's mother was German and he actually had very little, if any, Greek blood, despite looking like what most would consider "Greek".
