H&B advent calendar - opening!

I know last year's was a bit disappointing but I still decided to get one as theres been a few products over the last couple of years I've loved.

I don't think theres a thread for this so far, if there is please point me in the right direction.

If not then I'll kick off by saying I'm pleased with Door 1. I always like to try new cleansers and i love the eyecream from this brand.

I must be odd, because I really liked last year's! Good start today, I like this range and that it's full size.

It does look good, haven't tried it today, not heard of brand either. Pleased thus far!

I really liked last year's too, other than the hemp toothpaste!

I used it once and it's still in the bathroom cabinet unused since then!

Today's item smells... fruity!! Can't go wrong with a lip balm at this time of year!

I'm not a fan of this one sadly, had it in a previous calendar.

I've had a use of it just there and think it's fine. Nothing exciting though!

Hello fellow H&Bers! I really like the cleansing balm- used it last night. Was hard to get out of the tube though.
Underwhelmed by the lip balm. Waiting for a moisturiser 🙂
I used up last year's toothpaste but only for the evening brush 😄

I'm optimistic about this year because I don't think there's a toothpaste shaped box 😂. Lip balm seems nice to me, and it will definitely get used.

I was really excited about the lipbalm as I love watermelon flavoured things but having used it twice today I don't think it tastes of watermelon at all

Ha @Bumblesaurus I like your style! Haven't thought to size up the boxes like that. I would like a moisturiser too.

@Piemam I've been really good about no peeking but I just couldn't face another toothpaste that tastes of the middle ages 😆. I am, however, quite looking forward to trying today's soap! Do we all think face or body use?

@Bumblesaurus - tastes of middle ages 😆! I am in the minority of people that didn't mind toothpaste as I am used to unusual flavoured pastes; as an eczema sufferer who frequently uses ones without SLS, tends to be more earthy flavours.

Body soap I reckon. That's what mine will be. Looks good.

I've not opened any yet. Might save it all for the 25 despite being keen to open.
I've had the lip balm in a gift set before and wasn't keen on it. It was ok, but I wouldn't buy it.

Is the soap the Oliva one? I remember buying that about 30 years ago when it was 49p (back in the time when a tin of No Frills baked beans was 4p). I wonder if it is still the same.

@FayCarew yes it's Oliva. Is there any reason why you've not opened any yet? Is the whole thing a gift to yourself?

Yes. It's a gift from me to me. I'll probably take out some things to go in stockings. I have quite a stash of beauty stuff and smellies, so can spare a few, especially those I'm not in need of. I'm keeping the best stuff obviously

I ordered it on impulse when someone posted the discount code on here, but had been eyeing it. I usually treat myself to a half-price gift pack in January.

I opened a few 'days' on receipt to check for breakages and they were fine

I've been away this weekend. Im not keen on bar soap so hoping it will be this year's toothpaste/cotton bud and we've got it out the way early!
Really like the smell of the face scrub and will give it a go tomorrow morning. Smells gorgeous.

I missed out on buying one last year and got into it for the first time the previous year due to recommendation on here - also appreciated the thread back then. Still have some of the products too 😅

I've had such a hectic few days I have only started it today. Just been to excitedly wash and exfoliate my face 🤣 I love the eyecream in the the same range (from 2020 calendar!) but not sure I'm into the greasiness of this face wash 🤔 smells amazing though.

Cleansers like that I think are good for a double cleanse. Use that one to remove makeup and then another one to really clean your skin.
