I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

@countdowntonap you can have my mascara if you like. I've not even opened it.
I won't use it so it may as well go to someone who will.

countdowntonap · 30/12/2022 14:30

Ooo @grayhairdontcare that would be amazing! Is there anything you want a swap of?

Blossomtoes · 30/12/2022 14:31

R00tat00tt00t · 29/12/2022 10:35

I'd just came on to ask the same thing @Blossomtoes
I was hoping there might be a one-off 20% off or £20 when you spend £100 type offer to tempt me into buying one or two of the items I liked from the calendar but can't find anything and don't think DH has received anything by email.
Has anyone else found a voucher other than the code on the rosehip oil?

There were apparently five golden tickets - £1k vouchers - in the calendars. It would have been lovely if one of us had got one.

grayhairdontcare · 30/12/2022 14:35

@countdowntonap no honestly it's ok.
I won't use it as my eyes are so sensitive I literally stick with what I normally use.
If you message me your address I will pop it in the post next week when I'm back at work.

Cinnamonandcoal · 30/12/2022 18:43

I always wonder if they do actually put the vouchers in. I mean, no one would know.

I once did a raffle and one of the advertised prizes (a not very good quality diamond necklace) was never delivered so I couldn't give it out. Everyone assumed someone else had won it.

marmiteloversunite · 31/12/2022 14:01

It's worth complaining if you had empty drawers. I got replacements today plus a Venn cream, a candle, a Sunday Riley eye cream and the shower gels. Very pleased with that!

Just coming on here to see how people are finding the Malin + Goetz serum? I've been using it for about a month and am blown away by how good it is. My skin loves it - so glowy and clear and smooth.

UglyModernWindows · 20/02/2023 12:53

@Lotsofpots I really like it too! Love the smell.

I’ve only just started the Dr Sebagh’s overnight retinol, only used it on two nights (two nights break in between) and it seems like a divine product. Has a lovely texture and makes my skin feel so good. Obvs too early to see if there’s an improvement!

How do you guys find the ExfoliKate? It burns 🔥 so I only leave it on for 1min (in the shower while I shampoo my hair) and only use it every 10-14 days. It says 2-3 times per week but that would be way too much for me.

Blossomtoes · 20/02/2023 14:07

I use it once a week. It stings a bit in the folds of my nose but not otherwise. I like the effect but the smell’s awful!

laclochette · 20/02/2023 16:55

I love the Exfolikate and use twice a week but I have very thick, oily skin that needs a lot of exfoliating. I have cut out my other chemical exfoliants from my routine as I think otherwise it would be too much for my skin barrier (I was using Institut de Beauté p50 three times a week beforehand). I'm wary of using it alongside the M&G serum for this reason too. I think it hugely depends on your skin type and needs. The Exfolikate does sting on my face but only for the first 10 seconds and less and less every time I use it.

EasterIssland · 20/02/2023 17:35

I’ve not tried these two yet and I gave m&g to my sister as it’s not a brand I really like. Thanks tho for reviewing them

WeAreBorg · 20/02/2023 17:51

I don’t think I’m using the m&g consistently enough to know what it’s like…

Ive come a cropper with the lip balm we got - left it by a radiator and it must have turned rancid but I didn’t realise until I’d smeared it all over 🤢

Exfolikate is like being tortured but I think it’s good!

I tried to recreate the miracle oil with cheapy rosehip oil and adding in some essential oils…needless to say I won’t be giving up my day job anytime soon 😂

Lotsofpots · 20/02/2023 19:09

I like exfoliKate a lot. Have used it before and find its really effective. Feels a bit much to use regularly while using the M&G, so only every fortnight or so.

I don't normally like m&g either which is why this was such an surprise!

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 20/02/2023 19:11

I'd repurchase most of this years products.

The make up was a bit of a miss as they previously were neutral, suits all, shades. (Mini orgasm:/laguna blush/bronzer)

I bought the Space NK for comparison to open in January and the products were not a patch on Liberty this year. It had gone really downhill in comparison

Lotsofpots · 20/02/2023 22:38

@kenyaswhiterefrigerator there are quite a few I'd repurchase too, in addition to the serum. The tubing mascara is brilliant, and I love the Le Labo perfume. I don't use oils very often but the miracle oil would definitely be a re-buy.
Oh and the hair mask. Love it.

GallopingGreen · 20/02/2023 23:04

My immediate repurchase was the Seated Queen cold cream. I leave a layer on at night and wake up to beautiful skin! Have just finished my pot and have bought the 100ml already!
Also really like the miracle oil and both the mascaras. Nice change from my usual L'Oréal.

Blossomtoes · 21/02/2023 00:56

I binned the gold mascara, I thought it was dreadful. I’ve bought another Surratt lipstick in red, the texture is lovely. The Peony Couture scent is now a firm favourite.

UglyModernWindows · 21/02/2023 07:39

I love reading these reviews!

I’ve used up the Seated Queen cold cream but it’s not going to be a repurchase for me.

The Miracle Oil is nice on the skin but the longer I use it, the more I dislike the smell. Once it’s all used up, will go back to Aurealia London’s facial oil, which smells divine (and was in the Liberty calendar few years ago).

I like the Esther McVey mascara but how do you guys remove it? I use Liz Earle eye make up remover and it kind of rubs off in a long strands and takes a while.

purplelicious · 21/02/2023 08:09

I bought a bottle of the miracle oil (50ml) in early January as loved it so much, from the company direct, as they had a bit of a sale on at that time. It was completely different in colour and smell to what we had in our calendar😳 in fact, it had no smell, so I wrote to them explaining and with a photo. They sent me out another bottle from a different batch, which is more like the colour we received, though the aroma is still not quite the same. Good to read the reviews here as I still have lots of products still to try this year as I saved them.

Lotsofpots · 21/02/2023 09:12

@UglyModernWindows to remove the mascara you need warm water - I massage a cleanser all over my face, then use a flannel and warm water to remove it and the water removes the "tubes" - it does come away in strings.

WorryMcGee · 21/02/2023 11:02

I’ve repurchased the Venn stuff and the Seated Queen cold cream, and I’ll buy the Malin+Goetz serum too when that runs out. It’s funny because I feel the same about the miracle oil, I absolutely loved it and was sure I’d repurchase but the smell is too much for me now!

I loved the Trish McAvoy mascara too but my eyelashes have all gone this week. Stupid * chemo.

WeAreBorg · 21/02/2023 11:23

I didn’t like the mascara initially but am a convert now. Unfortunately I have the other mascara to use up and another one from pre-calendar before I can buy Trish again.

Hope chemo isn’t too awful @WorryMcGee

UglyModernWindows · 21/02/2023 13:24

Thank you @Lotsofpots will try with just cleanser tonight.

Like others, I absolutely love the Venn cream. Really sad it’s so expensive to buy 😭 Would anyone know a good dupe for it?
