Liberty advent calendar opening thread 2022

I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

I agree with comments that whilst nice products a bit too much exfoliating. A different type of mask would have been better. Definitely spf would have been of benefit. They seem to have a lot of similar products like last year we had two hylauronic serums.

I'm very happy today - everything I've tried from this brand through the beauty drop has been superb. But so so expensive. It's on my face now (and the actual product from the tube is SO pretty).
However I do agree about the spacing, and even if spread out, three exfoliating products is a lot. A hydrating or clarifying mask would have been an easy win.

In terms of skin care v make up, I'm happy with the ratio, as if there had been too much make up I think it would have been very easy for colours to have been duds.

Tried the cold cream cleanser followed by the exfolikate stuff last night and my skin feels amazing this morning!

The 111skin Rose quartz exfoliating mask 30ml would be with £46 based on the cost of the full size one. That brings the total to £934.
I think it’s a shame that they’ve put these products on consecutive days as they seem to perform the same function. I would also have found an spf useful but at least we haven’t been inundated with toner.

I agree too many similar products so close together but I tried the exfolikate last night and it's amazing really impressed and will use once a week - followed it with the collagen serum and miracle oil and even after a very late night last night people have commented today I look well! I would have liked a fun sparkly Christmas make up item I loved the hour glass eyeshadow from a couple of years ago.

I LOVE exfolikate so happy with this - and a full size too! Strange that so many exfoliating products came together - might have been nice to have a serum instead. The only things in this I won't keep or use are the retinol (ttc so need to avoid) and the tomato candle.

I'm more than half way through the Venn serum so it may need to become part of my regular skin care!

I'm not thrilled with the products this year.

Apart from the plethora of hair care products, I’m largely happy. I’d have loved a decent eyeshadow or red lipstick but I know that’s not everyone’s jam. I wouldn’t have said thank you for spf, my current brand is perfect and I wouldn’t have used it.

im glad there was no spf as I’ve got two brand new ones :) but yeah I see the point of why so many similar products.

@Blossomtoes can I be cheeky and ask what spf you use? I use Avene moisturizer with an spf in it which I’m worried isn’t sufficient in the Summer, but it does sit under foundation without pilling.

I hope someone from Liberty is following this thread for feedback, so they can deliver next year.

I like the candle but a bit underwhelmed by the plethora of hair stuff. I got Selfridges as well and actually I think it’s been slightly better than Liberty. Won’t tell DH as it was a gift so I didn’t check any contents like I usually do. DD will get my unwanteds or maybe they’ll be a swaps thread.

It’s not cheeky. I use Altruist - 30spf in the winter and 50 in the summer. It’s developed by dermatologists and it’s truly excellent, much better than all the more expensive stuff I’ve used.

First time having a liberty calendar for me this year, I've had a couple of M&S in the past and a boots one. Overall I'm pleased with the products, but definitely agree about the clustering of similar types of products, especially grouping things together that you only use once or twice a week (eg exfoliater) meaning I can't try each product when it arrives. I also hate the candle fragrance, it reminds me of really cheap perfume... something with more of a 'spa' or Christmas scent would have been better for me...

I agree about an spf too, I was hoping there would be a really nice one to try, I've tried sooooo many since I started to use actives on my skin and never really found a great one for me...

Can I ask a question about the eyebrow gel - it is supposed to feel like a completely dry brush? Is the product really dry feeling or is mine dried up? I've tried using it a couple of times now and I can't detect a thing on there 🤷🏼‍♀️

@steviesnores I'm SO glad you asked about the brush. I really wanted to know the same thing but I feel like I've been the dense beauty person on here constantly!!

I have tried the exfolikate and then the Dr Sturm C Serum, skin feels good. I was a little worried with the exfolikate at first as it's a strange green colour hopefully that's the colour it's meant to be.

Ha yes, that's the normal colour, don't worry! Love ExfoliKate.

I'm really happy with this calendar but I deliberately chose it because I didn't want make-up. I also love to exfoliate. A bit more perfume instead of Bamford hand wash would have been nice but I can't really grumble. Thumbs-up from me.

@steviesnores @Yeknom when I rub the brush on my finger, I can see that some product is there (it's slightly shimmery). There's also a little product on the bottom of the brush when I pull it out. Not completely dry, but not completely obvious either

Haha I know I'm a lone voice here 😂but the tomato candle is one of my fave things and will be a definite repurchase for me - I just love the scent of tomato stalks, it's one of my favourite smells in the world so to discover this candle has made my month. I even have a tomato stalk scented soap (also from Liberty) on the go in the shower at the moment.

Really surprised by how good the exfolikate is, I have sensitive skin so I didn't leave it on too long but my skin feels amazing. Agree with everyone that the pacing of this calendar is really off. But all in all lots of great things.

Today's Santal really cheered me up, I love this brand. One word of warning, use it very sparingly, I did two big sprays and I'm overwhelmed by fragrance. Whoops! I love how woody it smells though.

Oh, forgot to add, I'm another one who has a very dry brow gel...I notice it's described as 'buildable' which tends to be shorthand for 'you have to use a tonne of this product if you want to see any difference'.
