I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

Has anyone got the John Lewis one this year for comparison. Reading the general advent calendar thread it seems really good.

Have the Space NK which I save for January but again, looking at the thread the John Lewis one seems better

@marmiteadict I have the JLP one. It has its DoD as well, but overall, I’m liking the products - and their spacing - better than Libertys. otoh, Libertys has more genuinely new-to-me stuff so it’s more exciting.

purplelicious · 14/12/2022 14:41

@marmiteadict - I had the JL one last year and the year before and found that it was quite 'samey' and things were repeated. There were some good products, but not a lot of very niche or very high end products. I do see that this year, they seem to have upped their game, in tgat they do have one or two niche, high end products, similar to the sort of thing we're getting in the Liberty one, but not nearly as many....but I do see they've repeated things for the third year running this year.

marmiteadict · 14/12/2022 14:58

@Talisin @purplelicious
Thanks for the information. I'll stick with Liberty then going forward

grayhairdontcare · 14/12/2022 16:23

Pleased with the two items today.

TriciaMcMillan · 14/12/2022 16:51

I'm pleased with the last few days and feeling like we're on the up. When/how would people suggest using the serum? I am a relative serum virgin, collagen or otherwise...

countdowntonap · 14/12/2022 20:45

It is…
mine is a tubing mascara by the same brand, not the volumising one linked.

purplelicious · 14/12/2022 20:49

@Blossomtoes - I'm intrigued as to what mascara you have instead. Today, the link is correct and should take you to the Trish McEvoy volume mascara which is also a tubing one...what have you got instead?

purplelicious · 14/12/2022 20:51

My post was meant for @countdowntonap - sorry @Blossomtoes 🤪

purplelicious · 14/12/2022 20:53

Oops, my reply was meant for @countdowntonap , apologies @Blossomtoes 😬

shinny · 14/12/2022 20:58

Just read the messages and realised I only got the serum. Went back and checked the box to delightedly find the mascara too!

as I’ve got some many serums from advent calendars I’ve started to use them up. I put a couple of drips onto my face/neck after cleansing and wait a couple of mins before doing eye cream, moisturiser and oil. Quite a faff but having spent all this money on the advent calendars, the goods have to be used!!

No problem. I’ve got the same mascara as everyone else - and very nice it is too. I’ll probably buy this one.

A drawer of disappointment for me today. I like the smell but the product is something I just don’t ever use.

petitebleu · 15/12/2022 06:59

Same for me. It smells gorgeous but it's something I just don't use. I wonder if I can use it in a different way?

LizardTrucks · 15/12/2022 07:26

Back to the hotel steals disappointment after 2 amazing days. Not a product I use, too small to regift.

I’m choosing to think positive and assume this is just to build us up for some insane luxury tomorrow.

Zoetrope1 · 15/12/2022 07:31

@petitebleu you could use it in the shower - rub a little on your chest and arms, or all over really before stepping into the shower for a lovely experience.

I often apply a little oil, hot showers can be particularly drying for the skin.

marmiteadict · 15/12/2022 07:43

@petitebleu I agree with @Zoetrope1

We got an Aromatherapy associates bath and shower oil (last year?) and to use in the shower you poured a bit on your hands, inhaled in and out 3 times and then applied to your chest. Then rinsed off at the end of the shower.

notanicepersonapparently · 15/12/2022 07:44

Today’s drawer contained 55ml of Verden arborialist bath oil. I’m only getting a very light fragrance from this myself at the moment. Bath oil is something that will get used here though. I thought the bottle looked quite small for a bath product but the full size is only 100 ml and is outrageously expensive. This would be worth £47 based on the cost of a full size one bringing our total to date to £498.

£47 for that? 😱

right, I’ll be using it in the shower then..

Same. I don't take baths (my cleaner threw away my bath plug 🙄and it took me over a year to notice).

I had a bath & shower gel from the same brand from a Liberty GWP and it took me forever to use it. It was 'fine'.

So very disappointing today, possibly the worst day so far for me. Worse even than the rolloerball.

I was thinking is this the same bottle we got in one of the latest Liberty drop box?

Ah, it was beauty drop rather than GWP. Well remembered! It was a Lemon & Verbena shower gel.

purplelicious · 15/12/2022 08:17

A disappointment for me too....I just don't have baths, showers only. Not sure if it can be used in the shower either, as it doesn't seem to have anything in it that would allow it to clean you, looks like it is a pure oil.

purplelicious · 15/12/2022 08:22

The good news is though we are due about 10 full sizes now ( perhaps even 11 as only been noting it in my head), if Liberty keep to their word.

Blossomtoes · 15/12/2022 08:34

I’m pleased with it. It smells delicious, I don’t like oil in the bath because I hate cleaning it afterwards so I’m thinking of using it in an oil diffuser.
