I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

The Sunday Riley has been an absolute game changer for me! I'll definitely purchase :)

R00tat00tt00t · 10/12/2022 15:58

I think my favourites so far have been the SR eye cream, Venn complex/serum and Dr Sturm vit C serum. I'm not sure they've made me look any better but my skin feels gorgeous. If they include any body products that make my skin feel this soft I'll be very happy. I'm going to try one of the hair products tomorrow. I know I grumbled about the hair products but I'm fine with them, it was just a bit disappointing getting so many in quick succession. Still excited to open my boxes each morning.

kindlyensure · 10/12/2022 16:30

(Although tbf I did like the little candle because it felt like a proper 'gift' among all the creams)

WeAreBorg · 10/12/2022 16:46

I tried the mask this morning - used it as I would a conditioner and used the Davines oil after - didn’t bother drying my hair as we were rushing to get to the pool but it looks nice today considering the zero effort!

all the products seem to be agreeing with me - i think the subzero temperatures and the wine and chocolate diet i am currently on are making it hard for them to be fair!

TriciaMcMillan · 10/12/2022 17:07

It does seem quite hair care heavy so far, but that may just be how they've spaced it. I'm reserving judgement till the end.

Today's mask is probably the most useful for me of all the hair products. My minor gripe is it smells a bit grassy, assume that's the plant keratin??

While I agree the calendar has been rather haircare heavy, I think I’m in the minority in being quite pleased with today’s. It’s a pretty new release from the brand, and while it calls itself a “mask” reading the instructions you just leave it in for 5 minutes after washing, so in reality it’s just a conditioner and so no hassle to use in place of regular conditioner when you want a deeper treatment. It claims to seal split ends, which is something of a stretch, but I’m very willing to give it a go.

Can’t wait to try it!

I missed the spoiler luckily. I’m happy so far, nothing is awful! My skin looks and feels amazing and everything will get used.

@supadupapupascupa sorry that you are having a stressful time. I hope things get easier.

Blossomtoes · 10/12/2022 18:37

I’m so, so sorry. I was responsible for the spoiler. It was completely accidental and I really hope I haven’t spoilt it for anyone.

Yeknom · 10/12/2022 18:53

Talk to me people - you're all raving about the Venn. I've been using it but find it a bit meh. I confess massively new to this level of self care so how should I use it to its maximum potential?

purplelicious · 10/12/2022 19:39

My favourites so far have been the oil and the vent cream. I've saved the Vitamin C serum for later in the year....oh and I like the perfume. Sadly I had to give the SR eye cserum to my son ( who also loves skin care) as it bought me out in a slight rash under my eyes.
Hoping for a nice cleanser perhaps and also some makeup. I don't mind hair are really, but think it's all been a bit much in the first 10 days...they could have spaced it out a bit more.

purplelicious · 10/12/2022 19:40

Venn cream - not vent

OxanaVorontsova · 10/12/2022 19:49

Am I the only one who looked at the contents before buying, so knew I’d be happy? I can’t imagine parting with that amount of money without being sure I’d like it.

notanicepersonapparently · 10/12/2022 20:28

@OxanaVorontsova you are not the only one. I went through the list of contents of this one, JL, Harrods, F&M etc to find the one I thought would suit me best. I don’t use high end skincare so I was a bit of guesswork though as I was unfamiliar with the brands and products.

EasterIssland · 10/12/2022 20:36

I did check as well what each had so I knew I’d not like some but would like others

I have found that I need to be more liberal with the Venn than usual with a day cream. And by bedtime my skin isn’t feeling quite as moisturised as my usual Clarins multi active with a bit of serum under days. Nonetheless, my skin looks good on the Venn so maybe just try just slathering it on a bit more and see how that goes?

I knew there were a few things I wouldn’t love. I think it’s just that there were 4 products close together and all a bit more samey than I first thought.

Yeknom · 10/12/2022 21:22

Thanks @BurningTheToast, perhaps I need to be more liberal with application. I just find it's drying out my skin a little - nevertheless I pray it's doing something for all my fine lines 😁

WeAreBorg · 10/12/2022 21:22

I briefly looked at the contents several months ago, peeping through my hand as I didn’t want to spoil the surprise.

Therefore making the check largely pointless…

marmiteloversunite · 10/12/2022 21:56

I am missing today's item too. So that's two misding in the first ten days! Not impressed at all! No reply to my emails so far.

Polpette · 11/12/2022 06:24

Today's offering is back on track. It's a great brand and I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'm wondering if I can also use it on my cheeks to protect them on frosty dog walks?

As it's pre 7am I'm not mentioning much in the detail on the off chance I've opened the wrong drawer!

My favourite is still the miracle oil which was unexpected. I'm mixing it with the Venn and it's leaving my skin so smooth.

I think I'm also one of the few that loves the tomato candle.

ofCourseYouHave · 11/12/2022 06:57

Just about to post the same. I'm loving today's item. Good brand too.

grayhairdontcare · 11/12/2022 07:37

Today's item is good.
It's gone straight in my bag and will be getting lots of use.

EasterIssland · 11/12/2022 07:48

Meh and I just bought two this weekend! I might send one of those back

imp2007 · 11/12/2022 08:24

Really happy with todays - had run out and much needed in this cold weather used straight away! Good size and nice brand too. Happy!

shinny · 11/12/2022 08:25

Pleased with todays too - I will use it and have put it within reach as I’m always scrabbling around for something to put on my lips.

i LOVE the Venn cream - it has made my skin baby soft. Will stop the whinging too as this was a birthday gift from my DH ans I absolutely should be grateful. And am mainly. 😄
