I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

Usually, the rule is that oil goes after moisturiser. Not sure if your using oil as a serum though 🤔

@Toomanylosthours - I agree with you... it's hard to know what to layer with what...I think the general rule is the lightest item first....so oil, then serum, then cream. Though it says in the site you can mix the serum with creams or other serums. I think I'm going to put mine aside though, and use it at a later date as I think I'll just be layering up too much, or I might alternate it at some point, with the oil.

I'm so pleased I'm not the only confused one but your guidance makes sense.

The link for this serum says to apply it before spf. I took that to mean literally, but perhaps I should stick to before moisturiser?

I'd suggest that meant before moisturise, most seem to have some kind of spf in nowadays.

ofCourseYouHave · 07/12/2022 09:47

I usually cleanse, use a vitamin c product, serum then moisturise.
I've added the oil in as a last step when I get into bed. No idea if im doing this correctly though, but I always get comments on how lovely my skin is.

Blossomtoes · 07/12/2022 09:49

I only ever use oil at night. So serum before moisturiser during the day and oil under night cream at night.

Sameiam · 07/12/2022 09:53

Reviews are pretty bad for this! Don’t think I’m brave enough to try before work Christmas do on Friday as lots of reviews mentions spots etc.

Talisin · 07/12/2022 11:31

I’ve just started another (much, much cheaper) Vit C serum so it’ll be a while before I get to this but interested to try it. Have heard a lot about Dr Sturm but never tried anything of hers before.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/12/2022 14:09

I always thought an oil "locked " everything else under, into your skin and therefore it goes on last as other products will just sit on it?
I've possibly been doing it wrong all these years though! Grin

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/12/2022 14:10

This is waaaaay posher than my Boots Ingredients product though, I'm very pleased with todays.

WeAreBorg · 07/12/2022 18:40

Looking forward to trying this serum tomorrow, pleased with today’s treat

and apparently oil goes on last! Who knew?! (Other than nearly everyone else on this thread 😂)

I’m not a fan of peony couture (too floral for me) but their moon carnival is divine!

GallopingGreen · 07/12/2022 20:59

How many mls is the perfume? I can't read the bottom to see the quantity.

Zoetrope1 · 07/12/2022 21:02

@GallopingGreen 10ml travel size and it’s worth £35 (Liberty sell packs of 3 for £105)

GallopingGreen · 07/12/2022 21:04

@Zoetrope1 thank you!
Not sure if I love it. A bit old fashioned maybe?

Zoetrope1 · 07/12/2022 21:06

@GallopingGreen yeah not my style either. but if you’re ever near Liberty (or in Paris) highly recommend visiting the counter. They have some really interesting (albeit expensive) scents.

I second this.

This is the order according to Cosmo. It's quite complicated for a girl who can barely remember to take her make-up off!

So many compliments on the perfume today! I love it.

Excited to try the vitamin c although might wait until I have a day off.

I used the hair oil this morning. I can’t see any difference although I was quite tight with the amount I used as I’m another with fine hair.

Still loving the face oil and moisturiser. The eye cream seems to make my under eye worse 😂

MidnightMeltdown · 08/12/2022 00:44

I love the way that you lot open and use everything immediately! 😂

I would love to do this, but I have a stash of stuff that I need to use up before opening more.

TabithaTittlemouse · 08/12/2022 06:01

@MidnightMeltdown I should wait but I can’t!

Talisin · 08/12/2022 06:04

Todays drawer is another one where I think I will first give it a shot on a day when I’m not going out. Reviews are good though.

countdowntonap · 08/12/2022 07:05

@MidnightMeltdown same! I’m still di it up my calendar from last year, plus various beauty boxes. I open my calendar each morning and then put the item back into the drawers. Then I have a day between Xmas and NY when I open everything again - like receiving 25 mini presents 😀 All’s I’ve done is smell the candle and perfume

supadupapupascupa · 08/12/2022 08:01

Mine gets logged on my stash spreadsheet with date, and then put away. I have so much now I need to use in order so it doesn't go out of date. No need to buy anything during the year!

LizardTrucks · 08/12/2022 08:07

Another meh one for me. I’m quite basic with haircare compared with skincare so the hair oil would have served a lot of this purpose for me.
I just want a really good moisturiser next! Loving the Venn, miracle oil and Barbara sturm but is a day cream too much to ask for…

EasterIssland · 08/12/2022 08:09

Not sure I’ll use this one. I’ve got purple hair so I need products that won’t kill the colour and not sure whether this one is one of them.
