I love Kate’s dress! I think the tiara looks good with it, but I would have preferred to see a more diamondy one, the fringe would be lovely. Cams looks lovely, but now I can’t unsee the paw prints.
I like the colour of Sophie’s dress and it just picks up the aquamarine perfectly but like everyone else I wish she had a better one.
Hopefully, there is a little restraint in the bling choices at the moment, but as more time goes by and it’s a bit more “seemly” than we will see a whole new set of tiaras and gems being worn. I’m getting a bit fed up of the lovers knot.

So Kate's dress has mega sleeves then, it isn't actually a cape? You can see it in the background of the photo of Sophie in the DM pics linked above - gives me anxiety just thinking about eating wearing that, or drinking actually come to think of it! I like her hair swept over her face slightly too, very classy!

I think Kate's glittery shoulders look a bit ice dancing costume. If they were plain the jewellery could pop out even more.

I should think they are quite heavy and pinning them onto a fine material must be very tricky.

The medals on the yellow ribbons are Royal Family Orders given as personal mementoes by the monarch to female members of the RF.

Poor old Sophie looks a bit lack lustre there.
It looks as though Charles won't be making Edward the Duke of Edinburgh after all, so perhaps Sophie is stuck with lower grade bling now.

It does get so tedious how the DM constantly refers to "a tribute to Diana" whenever Kate wears a piece of jewellery once worn by Diana. Do they not understand the concept of inheritance and the Royal jewels being passed on, either in the main Royal collection or individual pieces personally inherited?

Yes, all this "tribute" stuff is such nonsense, and so mawkish. It's all a quite recent concept too, all part of the superficially caring society we seem to belong to now.
Years ago, if you were lucky enough to be left a pearl necklace by Granny, you wore it to enjoy it, not "as a tribute"!

Just curious to know why Kate's and
Sophie's sashes go left to right while Camilla, Edward etc. have the blue one that goes right to left?

Assume the different sashes are different orders (?) but why aren't they all worn in the same direction?

Not a sash expert but the are orders of chivalry - so each is worn according to the style of order.

so they are all worn slightly differently.

my posts aren’t showing up here tonight but the packham gown looks incredible on POW. My mum has a Packham gown and it looks all flowing and simple like Kate’s but the corseted underneath is something to behold. You cannot tell when it is on that it isn’t just draped over her body. It’s amazing.
