I agree, I think it might be too early for some of the very classically HMQ pieces to make a reappearance (I personally wouldn’t mind because I know that in royal circles jewellery is worn in tribute and in memory of, but I know many people would likely have a problem with it). Which means that fingers crossed we might see some of the lesser worn/lesser known pieces. Wouldn’t that be exciting? I’d love to see both the Queen and the Princess of Wales wear ‘new’ tiaras.

The hat is very reminiscent of the headband Kate wore for the arrival of HMQ’s coffin to Westminster Hall, isn’t it. I wonder if that’s deliberate. Almost as a nod to the memory of the Queen.

I actually think her outfit today is really nice. Very much a repeat of previous outfits, of course, but for some reason I really like it - i think it works so well. Perhaps it’s the subtlety of the handbag/gloves/shoes coordinated so beautifully but not actually monochrome. Or maybe it’s just that it’s done so much better than that green monstrosity we saw not so long ago...

Not going to mention the shoes. Just for today, I can forgive it.

Camilla looks fab in that bright blue as well - it’s her job to stand out, of course, since the King doesn’t have as many colour options as HMQ did.

I love Camilla's blue feathered hat worn this morning, I'd wear that! It has a touch of Queen Mary about it I think.

Love Kate's outfit today; the colour is great on her and the brooch is beautiful.

My tiara predictions for this evening - assuming they wear tiaras - are Kate in the Cambridge Lovers' Knot and Camilla in the Greville. I can't see them breaking out if their tiara comfort zones just yet.

I fear you might be right...but I’d love to see her wear (my) Vladimir tiara with the emerald drops. She could pair it with that gorgeous green gown she wore on the Caribbean tour.

Yes I’d like that even more than seeing the Vladimir on Kate. My vote (quite aware that votes don’t come into it one bit) is for both senior Royal women to wear a new to them, lesser-known tiara. Would be very interesting, but I do think it’s wishful thinking. Sigh.
