@LoveLabradors agreed. Also, having seen how discounted the latest glow kit and sleep kit ended up being (50-60% off) I would hold off even if I was interested!

redredwineub40 · 23/01/2023 08:47

Yes, had a look and thought the same - a lack of spark. That REN tonic does nothing for me, I've had it in things several times.

The eyelash growing stuff is good and love Sturm but the rest meh. Votary doesn't suit my skin particularly.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 23/01/2023 08:59

Gosh, that's a bit uninspiring...and not even a Liberty bag, but a Liberty cardboard box! Nah, not for Spongey. Maybe if it drops to a 50% discount I might consider, but DD would end up with a chunk of it. Was the Trish mascara the one we had in the Advent? If so, it was very underwhelming IMHO.

Housewife2010 · 23/01/2023 10:16

The set has lots of nice things in it, but they have all been in previous sets from Liberty and other companies. Also the big September GWP is with an £175 spend and previously was worth up to £700. - (unfortunately I have found that GWP has decreased a lot in value over the last few years.) This would be a nice kit to get as a GWP with a £175 spend rather than for sale at that price.
I got the Liberty Sophie Beresiner Get Ready with Me kit in the recent sale for half price - £50- and that came with a Liberty make up bag too.

Anyone tried MZ Skin LED gold mask thing? It's on offer on some websites as they've bought out an upgrade.

Ducksinthebath · 24/01/2023 10:07

I wasn't really impressed with my box for the first few days but as time's gone on, I think it might be my favourite so far. It might be a sad reflection on my life in January but the air freshener is cheering me up every time I get in the car and I think I've found my new HG hand cream. Plus the minis have come in useful for a trip I'm taking next week.

I've gone from considering cancelling to being a bit miffed at having to wait 3 months for the next box.

SweetSakura · 24/01/2023 10:15

Same, I found the hand cream was excellent, I really suffer with dry skin and it has worked much better than my existing cream. I like the car air freshener, I am already thinking I might buy a new one when this runs out. And I loved the perfume.

The serum made my skin worse but I do have very sensitive skin. I like travel size cleansers etc as we go away a lot so have saved them for weekends away

ferretface · 24/01/2023 13:31

Yeah I absolutely loved this box, I like the perfume too (got Musc). Not sure I will buy the full size as my ride or die musk perfume is Le Labo Musc 25 but it's always good to try new ones. If I had one criticism it would be that two cleansing type products is too many.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 24/01/2023 16:04

The Musc smells gorgeous on DH, a real old school "cologne " type whiff. Even DD commented on how nice he smelled!

I just bought the air freshener for £3.00 on Vinted Grin

SweetSakura · 24/01/2023 20:53

Oooh that's a good find @Babysharkdoodoodood Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 25/01/2023 09:10

Hi All. I have eventually received my Barbara Sturm serum, so that has cured my FOMO. It is indeed wondrous at smoothing over my eye wrinkles, but at £250 for the normal size, I'm not sure it's worth selling my soul to the devil. I am inspired to look for a dupe, if anyone finds a good one, that isn't quite as spendy, would be delighted to know!

redredwineub40 · 25/01/2023 09:48

Let me know if you find a good Sturm dupe!

Pigtailsandall · 25/01/2023 09:55

I love the serum too. No way I could pay £250 but it'll be good while it lasts!
The perfume is growing on me too, though I don'tthink I'd buy it, and I'll take the cleansers on trips we have planned for the next few months. I love the hand cream. All in all, I'm looking forward to me second box!

redredwineub40 · 25/01/2023 10:25

Generally I find hyaluronic over hyped - but that Sturm thing makes my skin look better. I've used medik8 HA and skinceuticals HA versions too and not found the same.

I'd love to know if anyone has tried any other Sturm serums as you mostly only get samples of the hyaluronic.

There was the Vitamin C in the advent calendar. It’s good, it’s faded a spot of sun damage I had by my eye.

redredwineub40 · 25/01/2023 10:43

Thanks @Blossomtoes that's good to know. I've tried beauty pie hyaluronic too and it was ok

AnneShirleysNewDress · 25/01/2023 15:40

Another Strum serum fan here. If only it wasn't so expensive.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 25/01/2023 16:05

Will it be ok do you think to use both the Vit c and HA serum in the am before putting my SPF moisturiser on?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 25/01/2023 16:40

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz I don't think it would harm your skin, but if you're applying two products more or less together, you may get pilling.

Boppertini · 25/01/2023 16:47

I’ve just gone in an cancelled my subscription on a bit of a whim. I think I just struggle to find things to spend my credit on at the moment as I’ve built up quite a stash during December. And maybe I’m a bit inspired by the “buy less 2023” thread I’m on…
I wouldn’t rule our resubscribing in the future though and I quite enjoyed the box we just received.

Zoetrope1 · 25/01/2023 16:53

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz Totally fine - is the vit c in a liquid form? If so, I’d apply it first

redredwineub40 · 25/01/2023 17:37

Yes I was doing vit c then HA for ages and the clinic I go to for stuff said that was fine too.

Always good to cut back in Jan!

It's the Sturm one in both cases
