@TabithaTittlemouse I wish DP would buy me something every time he buys himself a new toy 😂

purplelicious · 26/10/2022 13:35

@TildaRae - sorry to hear you had trouble too with the toner 😳 the redness has really gone down a lot today and I hope yours is easing off too. Just wanted to let you know that it DOES have glycolic acid in it after all, I missed that from the ingredients for some reason. I wouldn't have touched it, if I'd known. It sounds like you are also affected by glycolic acid so that's what you need to avoid.

I saw that @TabithaTittlemouse recommended Medic8's Press and Glow, which certainly does look worth trying, no glycolic acid there and it does indeed look much gentler. I use an eye cream by Medic8 which is really good, so I trust their products.

purplelicious · 26/10/2022 13:38

Apologies @TabithaTittlemouse - it was @doublecleansed that recommended Medic8's 'Press and glow' must put my glasses on.

doublecleansed · 26/10/2022 17:06

I think you can get small/travel sizes of it to try @purplelicious @TildaRae . I only tried it for the first time recently after getting it in a Space NK set. I'm usually ok with glycolic but noticed as the weather is getting colder my skin is less happy with it and prefers something gentler - Press & Glow is definitely gentler.

purplelicious · 26/10/2022 18:32

Thankyou @doublecleansed - I will certainly give it a go 😊

TheQueensCousin · 26/10/2022 20:07

Just received my Liberty beauty drop box today. Did they used to have toiletry bags included or was that something else?
I got the black eyeliner so I'm quite happy. I'll give the Votary a try but it might be too harsh for my skin.

Nanasueathome · 26/10/2022 20:10

The very first Beauty Drop box was October 2021
That box included a toiletry bag
No other box has included one

Thank you 👍🏼 Also do we get offers through by email, for example, some posters have talked about offers. I think candles were mentioned.

Nanasueathome · 26/10/2022 21:45

Yes, lots of offers and also sale previews
Free delivery on everything too

Any thoughts on this? beautyadventcalendar.net/liberty-12-days-of-fragrance-calendar-2022/

Because on the one hand, it’s gorgeous, and on the other hand, HOW MUCH?

Let’s hope it’s half price in January. Or just I just push the boat out? I should at least wait until Black Friday, right?

WestrayWife · 27/10/2022 10:20

Ohhh I like.... but, yes, £££££!

I don't think they normally do reductions on Black Friday - but I would love to be mistaken.

I think the smaller scent box they brought out in the summer is still available? It was £75 I think - much more reasonable.

I have just purchased a full size of the primer we got in the recent box - £42 for a full size but I bought from Cult Beauty with a 15% off which made me feel better. I've liked the M&G moisturiser too but it's nothing so special as to warrant purchasing.

In terms of toners, the Votary one has been ok for me. Anyone looking for a "softer" version might also want to consider the Face Vinegar from Gallinee - it's lovely.

doublecleansed · 27/10/2022 12:27

That fragrance calendar looks really gorgeous but I think £275 is too much when there's too much chance involved in liking the perfumes. If it was £200 I might have treated myself with my beauty drop credit...but I can't justify that price. It might end up having 15% on Black Friday if it hangs around....though the Harrods fragrance calendar sold out in a flash (that was 'only' £150 though).

I'm hoping for a decent Liberty GWP soon and some nice Christmas sets.

doublecleansed · 27/10/2022 12:28

p.s I'm pretty sure that £75 Liberty scent box will end up being reduced at some point...it's been around absolutely for ages

AprilLady · 27/10/2022 12:42

I’d be very surprised if the fragrance calendar sold out as quickly as the Harrods one did; the Harrods one was much better value (included two 30ml perfumes one of which retails at over £200 and one at c£100) and a lot else besides, all very niche. I actually think the scents in the Liberty one are likely to have wider appeal, but it’s too expensive for what it is.

Quadruple points today at Liberty though, and may include the advent calendar?

doublecleansed · 27/10/2022 13:05

@AprilLady the fragrance calendar isn't out yet - don't think it will be for the points weekend. I think the beauty advent is included though.

I've just used some beauty drop credit to order a Jellycat toy for my niece!

WhenisitmyturntobePM · 27/10/2022 13:15

Just a PSA that there is a good gift with purchase at cult beauty today with a reasonable spend (£150).

There is also a GWP at John Lewis with a lesser spend (£100) but it’s too similar to the spring one for me, which I enjoyed but don’t need again.

Couperi · 27/10/2022 13:35

Do you have the link to either of those GWP please? I can't seem to find them.

WhenisitmyturntobePM · 27/10/2022 14:00

The cult beauty one only appears when I log in. The link is here www.cultbeauty.co.uk/names-to-know-goody.list

The John Lewis one is here www.johnlewis.com/my-john-lewis-the-winter-radiance-beauty-box/p109431278?s_emlid=&tmcampid=81&s_emcid=JLE2956_CMM100000159_MyJL_20221027_&s_emuid=SID_#product

WhenisitmyturntobePM · 27/10/2022 14:00

Thank you!

Orangeslemon · 27/10/2022 22:42

I’d be interested in the fragrance calendar if it weren’t so expensive! I’m willing to spend on fragrance but I don’t think this is amazing value, especially after seeing Harrods’.

On a separate note it’s good to see Liberty adding more beauty brands as I find their selection a bit limited – they’ve added Jones Road & Vyrao this last week or so.

Luvacuppatea2 · 28/10/2022 07:40

I share your dilemma re the Liberty fragrance calendar @WhenisitmyturntobePM . Absolutely love the look of it, but the price????? 😳. I’m living in hope that the price quoted on the Beauty Advent Calendar site is an error and I’m going to wake up on 2nd November to find that it’s actually ‘only’ £175 🤣

EasterIssland · 28/10/2022 08:41

There is quadruple points until Monday. I just got the dyptique Xmas candles small version which was £110 so I’ll get £20 back in vouchers. I think I’ve got another £50 already from top up and vouchers :)

not sure whether the calendar is allowed to be bought for the promotion

Ducksinthebath · 28/10/2022 11:44

I gave Moon Carnival a go yesterday. I thought it smelled familiar. Two people asked me if I was wearing Coty L’Aimant then promptly started to reminisce about their beloved grandmothers.

BurningTheToast · 28/10/2022 14:19

My box has finally arrived!

I'm really pleased with this one although the glitter eye pen isn't for me... If anyone would like a blue one do shout and I'll pop it in the post. I've opened it but only to see just how glittery it is, I haven't used it.

TabithaTittlemouse · 28/10/2022 15:32

I’m really struggling to order today!
