Evening Royal Style fans!
I hope we can have some fabulous winter fashion and tiara events!

Dairy Milk purple is the exact colour! I am not a purple fan, but somehow she looks magnificent in it!

She looks wonderful. And the tiara is just gorgeous.

They give good gown the Swedes. Love the green and the purple. Like Barbie ballgowns of old!

Dreamy to see really full, fairytale gowns on Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria. I'm sure they have a good twirl around in them when getting dressed, I would 😎 And Dairy Milk Purple is completely right!

On my natural ageing soap box, I'm glad to see QS seems to have slowed down on the cosmetic procedures. She was looking quite odd there for a while, but in these pictures she looks more like the mature lady she is. She's a good-looking woman, and that tends to stay as you age, if you don't mess around with it! Pity a lot of people don't seem to see their own natural beauty. OK off soap box 😉

We like to see this. We do not want a Coronation with day wear, as if dressed for a regular church service or an interview at John Lewis.

My cousin was at a presidential inauguration in a nice coat and jazzy scarf. Which is nice in a republic but if you have a monarchy you need lots of robes and coronets and ladies in satin.
Im sure with problems in the economy it might be an issue for some people, but it would be a lift for many.

So happy to see some bling. Love the fuchsia on QS. Think it is the braganza. Has Max got the Stuart on?

I think that's the Stuart on Max. And is CPV's amthethyst to match her dress? Sofia the elder's is apparently called the Brazilian tiara. I keep forgetting she's from Brazil.

I normally lurk on these threads but just had to come out of hiding to comment on the Swedish royals. With the footman (or whoever he is) and the tapestry in the background, it looks like some historic photo to which they have added colour. Amazing. I love the purple and green.

I also thought Max was in the Stuart but couldn't quite make it out in the photos.

Isn't it Silvia not Sofia? Silvia was born in Germany I think, but her mother was Brazilian?

Yes sadly I think that is the case as Kate is more catwalk model like , as was Diana, super slim, tall and tbh I think she could literally wear anything and look ok in it! Sophie I think is very attractive and looks lovely but she’s older as you said.

Someone mentioned a purple ball gown one of the Swedish royal ladies was wearing, has Kate ever worn purple ? I don’t remember seeing her in it. I remember the late Queen had a few purple outfits.

Also can someone tell me if the Braganza tiara is connected in any way to Catherine of Braganza, Charles II’s wife ?

I love CPV in that dress, I’m not usually a fan of purple as I think it can look a bit cheap but that shade is lovely and deep. She certainly steals the show there. I also love the green, and all the jewels. The Braganza is gorgeous.

I am going to Amsterdam for half term and I am gutted that the Royal Palace is closed until 8 December. I love Max, she is my favourite Queen.

Absolutely, a coronation should be a fancy do! We were still in rationing during the last one (and Elizabeth and Philip’s wedding) and still managed to put on a good show.

I think all these shades look beautiful on Kate. I wasn’t a fan of the pale blue she wore to Northern Ireland, I felt it wasn’t a strong enough colour for her, I think a cobalt blue would have been better.
I am going to say this quietly, I like the coat dresses ! I get though that she wears them a lot, I particularly liked the one she had on at the funeral as it had a bit of a 50s vibe going on.

There’s nothing wrong with a coat dress per se. I like them perfectly well but there was an extended period of time where it seemed that was all she ever wore. That’s my only beef with it, when it’s too ubiquitous and boring. Why make fashion boring when it can so easily be much more interesting! However I think she’s grown into her role much more over the past 4 or 5 years and with it her clothing choices are becoming much more varied, which is nice.
