Princess Anne is constantly working and we don’t see that in the papers too much either - I think that’s what Sophie is channeling and good for her.

Kate looks younger in the red jacket, really fresh, could easily be in her 20s. She’s looking really well, a little less taut and tense.

MotherofPearl · 11/10/2022 15:29

Images from Max and Wax's visit to Sweden. Max's outfit is pretty subdued by her standards. I like the photo of the two Queens, and then the group one including Estelle. Catharina-Amalia should have been there to complete the succession set!

Perhaps for Kate, the Queen dying has been a bit like the other shoe dropping. It’s very sad of course, but it must also have been hanging over them all a bit - not only the fact that a member of their family was very elderly (and perhaps unwell) but also the massive public upheaval that was going to be entwined with the grief of losing her, the taking on of new roles and all of that. Now they’ve got through at least the preliminary upheaval, maybe it’s almost a relief in some way?

eggandonion · 11/10/2022 15:38

The past couple of years must have been very stressful, for all involved with the queen and Duke of Edinburgh. They were both very frail.

LadyEloise1 · 11/10/2022 16:31

The green on Queen Silvia looks very hard on her indoors but is much softer on her in the outdoor photo iykwim.
I like her - she has had a lot to put up with married to Carl Gustav. I'm not sure I could have put up with it.
He looks like a neighbour of mine Smile
Max likes her shiny tights.
She seems like such a lovely lady and Wax certainly appears to appreciate her.

Seems like a long and gruelling trip for Sophie.

Yes, it's a demanding trip, and I've not seen much publicity about it

Speaking of relying on Edward and Sophie, I wonder if Charles is going to give Edward the Edinburgh dukedom. If not, he should give him some other dukedom or make Wessex a dukedom.

I agree. They should definitely be upgraded.

I agree with you about Queen Silvia, @LadyEloise1

I think QEII had already said the Duke of Edinburgh title should go to Edward when she was gone. I doubt King Charles would go against his mother's wishes.

SenecaFallsRedux · 11/10/2022 16:50

When KC did his mini tour and was in Scotland making his vows he said he gives all this Scottish titles to his son. Maybe that includes Edinburgh? At the time I did wonder if it was Rothsey or more?

Was qe2 Duchess of Edinburgh, like Queen Mum was Duchess of York, so Edinburgh wasn't a Charles title? If that makes sense.

The Scottish titles that the King was referring to are dynastic titles that automatically go to the heir to the throne. They are ancient Scottish titles, as opposed to titles created in the peerage of the United Kingdom as the Edinburgh title was.

When Philip died, Charles became Duke of Edinburgh via the Letters Patent creating the title for Philip, and when Charles became king, the title merged with the Crown. If Edward or anyone else were to have it now, there would need to be a new creation.

The late Queen was Duchess of Edinburgh by marriage; when Philip died, she became Dowager Duchess of Edinburgh and Camilla became Duchess of Edinburgh as Charles was Duke.

They've certainly done a lot of work for the DofE award scheme.

About the green dress ?
Being married to Carl Gustav ?
Or both ?
😉

Quarique · 11/10/2022 17:05

Thanks Seneca, I was really hoping Edward and Sophie would get it and was worried it had been passed on already. I was expecting it when he announced that William would be PoW.

Another Zara blazer, this time cream.
I love her necklace, that is a bolder jewellery look.
Also, an excellent message about asking for help with mental health. 👍

It looks as though the Coronation is to be on Saturday 6th May 2023, if Apple News is correct! 👑 👑

Gooseysgirl · 11/10/2022 18:22

Yes it's just been confirmed on the news... I'm a bit disappointed there's no day off 😆 I wonder why they didn't plump for half-term in the end...

Maireas · 11/10/2022 18:31

Saturday! Come on, Kingy. Let's have a Bank Holiday!

Bank holiday please!! And plenty of gems 👑👑💎💎

MotherofPearl · 11/10/2022 21:01

Sophie is still in Botswana. Her blue dress is Peter Pilotto. She's off to Malawi tomorrow to mark World Sight Day. I agree with pp that she's very much working to Princess Anne's model of knuckling down to hard work with good causes, and not seeking the limelight.

Great work from Sophie 👍.
That sight charity is a cause close to her heart.
That's a really nice dress.

Just seen some picture on newmyroyals on the Dutch/Swedish visit. The big tiara guns are out!

MotherofPearl · 11/10/2022 21:56

The tiaras all look amazing! This is the kind of thing we need to see from the British RF.

I love the photo of QS and Max chatting together so animatedly.

Then I love the photo showing how QS has really gone for it with the diamonds! I think it's the Braganza tiara? Which MNetter has kindly let her borrow it?

Lastly I think CPV looks really stunning. Her dress fits to absolute perfection.

CPV looks fantastic in Dairy Milk purple! Max looks great too - I think her sari-style dress is a rewear, possibly one she originally wore on a state visit to India? Sofia the younger looks good in deep green though I find the sashes they all wear a tad annoying as they ruin the line of the gown!

Maireas · 11/10/2022 22:23

Wow, CPV looks stunning. That is high glamour! Just gorgeous.
